2 After starting the season 7-0 for the for the first time in program history, the University of Memphis women’s soccer team looks to close the non-conference slate with a unblemished 8-0 mark. 2 The U of M has scored 20 goals this season coming from 11 different players. The 20 goals in the first seven matches are the most since the 2005 season when the squad had 21 goals. The 20 goals are tied for the second-most all-time. 2 Memphis defense held opponents scoreless in four-straight games, but even though the streak was ended Sunday, the Lady Tiger defense can hang its hat on a record performance. Memphis didn’t allow a goal in 441:25 of play from the last 10 minutes of the UALR match to the goal scored by Charlotte on Sunday. The mark is the longest streak in program history.
2 Memphis and Vanderbilt meet for the just the third time on Thursday. The Commodores earned wins in the previous meetings and this year’s clash is the first meeting since the 2001 season. Vanderbilt won the lone meeting at the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex 3-0 in 1999.
SCOUTING VANDERBILT 2 The Commodores enter Thursday’s matchup with a 5-1 mark on the season. Vanderbilt has won three-straight matches, including a 1-0 victory over Middle Tennessee on Friday. Vanderbilt’s lone loss came against Missouri State. 2 Candace West leads the Commodores with three goals on the season. Five different players have scored the eight goals for Vanderbilt. 2 Brittanie Barbero and Alexa Levick have split time in net for Vanderbilt. Levick has made four of the six starts this season.

2 Memphis opened the season with identical 3-1 victories over LSU and UALR at Mike Rose Soccer Complex. The Lady Tigers hit the road for a three-game road trip and earned three shutout victories. A fourth-straight shutout against rival Ole Miss put Memphis a 6-0 and a convincing victory over Charlotte puts the Lady Tigers at 7-0. 2 The 7-0-0 start to the regular season is the best start in program history and the sevengame win streak is tied for the longest in program history.
