Dear Tiger Scholarship Fund Donor, It is hard to believe I am nearing the completion of my second year as the Director of Athletics of this outstanding institution. The Memphis community has been overwhelmingly welcoming to me and my family, and we are so proud to call Memphis home. Memphis Athletics has made tremendous progress in building on a proud tradition, but we have much left to do. I look forward to working with each of you as we continue our journey. There are too many athletic and academic accomplishments this past year to list them all, but here are a few achievements that came as a direct result of your support:
• 228 student-athletes earned at least a 3.0 grade point average (1st among C-USA for 2012-13) • Men’s basketball reached the third round of the NCAA tournament in March 2013 • Seven teams scored a perfect 1000 for Academic Performance Rate (APR) • Senior football player Tom Hornsey was presented the prestigious Ray Guy Award as the nation’s best punter and was named First Team All-American • Our programs posted an overall Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 84% for 2012-13 • The men’s and women’s tennis teams both qualified for the 2013 NCAA tournament, with the men reaching the Sweet Sixteen • Our men’s basketball program was one of 13 teams in the nation to receive an NCAA Public Recognition Award for having an APR score in the top 10% and participating in the NCAA tournament

“I was born and raised in Memphis. Receiving an athletic scholarship has allowed me to earn my degree while also representing my city on a national level. I work hard to make Tiger Nation proud. The Quebec native is also the captain of the University of Memphis women’s soccer team and started and played in 18 of the squad’s 21 matches in 2013.

In 2013, University of Memphis Interim President Brad Martin announced a $40 million capital campaign aimed at improving athletic facilities on the Park Avenue Campus. The ongoing campaign has already secured more than 25% of the needed funds, bolstered by a $10 million contribution from Bill and Nancy Laurie — the largest donation in the history of the Athletic Department — and a $250,000 contribution from the Tigers’ Men’s Basketball Coach, Josh Pastner.

GET IN THE GAME M Club An Elite Letter Winner Association, the M Club supports Tiger Athletics by uniting past, present and future student-athletes through service, programs and events. Membership is $50 annually and is open to anyone who has lettered in a sport at the University of Memphis. In addition, the M Club offers mentoring opportunities for current student-athletes and scholarships for former letter winners who are interested in returning to school and finishing their degrees.
