#24 DERRICK THOMAS  OF Derrick Thomas returned to the diamond after missing all of the 2011 season due to injury. The redshirt-sophomore was 6-for-14 (.429) in the opening weekend with a double in each of the three games. Thomas recorded his second career home run on Saturday and logged his first career steal on Sunday. He leads the team with an .857 slugging percentage heading into week two of the season.
