Starting Second Half Play Memphis returns home to start second half play with this weekend’s matchups between UConn and Temple. The Tigers split this road series earlier this year, falling at Temple, 3-0, before going on the road and picking up a 3-1 win at UConn, then their second road win of the season. Since that win at UConn, Memphis has won three of four road matches to offset an 0-3 mark at home in conference play. Both UConn and Memphis are currently tied for fourth in the American Athletic Conference with a 5-5 league mark while second place Temple will play at third place Cincinnati before Sunday’s match-up in Memphis. RPI Opportunities This Weekend Memphis is currently ranked 129th in the NCAA in the RPI Rankings. The Tigers’ 5-4 overall road mark gets them some points, but defending their home floor will be important in the second half of league play. Memphis is 5-5 at home so far this year. UConn is the next ranked American opponent in the RPI rankings at No. 139, while Memphis Temple is third in the league with a 90 RPI and a 3-3 road mark.
