It was only yesterday that I was canvassing for votes for election as VDG in East London and we are half way through the Lionistic year. It has been a very exciting year for Els and myself and we have learned a lot. The highlight (low light!) of the year was definitely Medic Alert. It was awesome to be part and parcel of a process that has had such an impact on our Multiple District. The best part of the year was our second Council Meeting in Amanzimtoti where we learned that, with a little bit of luck all the hard work was worthwhile and Multiple District 410 will still be in charge of Medic Alert and not of Lionscare! Mediation and arbitration are in place at the moment with Medic Alert USA to ensure that this will happen. Registration fees for Multiple District Convention in Worcester 2002 will be subsidised by Council from the District Convention Fund. That means that it will only cost R420.00 per delegate which will include: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.

Welcome dinner and entertainment Theme function evening Multiple District banquet Meeting breaks tea / coffee Material satchet with lots of goodies Wine at certain functions Transport to and from certain gatherings Live entertainment and etc.

Unfortunately my appointment as Vice District Governor has had a detrimental effect on us attending normal club functions. Please bear with us, we miss being part of Sheppie but we are now part of the bigger family of Lions in District 410C. To Lion President Richard and Jane - guys you have done an excellent job so far, keep up the good work. It is and will always be a great privilege and honour to introduce myself to other clubs as being a member of the Lions Club of Port Shepstone. To those members of Port Shepstone, that have expressed their willingness to serve on my Cabinet next year, I salute you and thank you for your support. May you all have a Blessed Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year! Enjoy the rest of the Lionistic Year. Lion Paul Adendorff (Vice District Governor 410C)
