7 Reasons to Invest in Menorca

1. Climate

Menorca’s mild Mediterranean climate promises over 300 days of sunshine a year to enjoy outdoor living, with average highs from 14° in winter to 29° in summer. Out of season, the weather is ideal for practicing a wide variety of sports including sailing, hiking and cycling.

2. Access

From March / April to October, the island’s international airport in Mahón manages direct flights to and from many major cities in Europe. There is also a private jet terminal, which became increasingly busy during the pandemic. Regular ferry connections are from the Spanish mainland (Barcelona and Valencia) and Corsica. Ferries operate a service three times a week from France (Toulon).

UNESCO declared Menorca a biosphere reserve in 1993 in recognition of the island’s sustainable tourism and the conservation of its natural environment, and heritage. The island is renowned for its stunning virgin beaches and is home to a remarkable diversity of wildlife and fauna.

The new art centre Hauser & Wirth Menorca, which opened in 2021 on Isla del Rey in Mahón, has been given the “Best Art Destination” Award by the magazine Wallpaper.

7. Sports and activities

The characteristics of the island and its climate make it an ideal place to enjoy a wide variety of outdoor sports all year round. There is a full calendar of sports events and competitions throughout the year from sailing regattas to triathlons, hiking, cycling and horse riding along the famous “Cami de Cavalls”.
