£200m INVESTMENT PLANNED

Plans to transform Southampton’s Town Quay into a world-class waterfront with bars, restaurants and a nine-storey hotel are to go out to public consultation.

Nicolas James Group, which built the Harbour Hotel in Southampton’s Ocean Village, wants to redevelop the area with a £200 million investment.

Plans include a new marina, up to 500 flats, parking, restaurants and a new hotel and spa facilities.

Outline plans have been submitted to the council and if approved work could start in 2024. Other plans include strengthening the pier and reclamation of land for construction of flats and basement car parking. A new public
