Calle de la Farmacia, Madrid. It is a small street in the centre of Madrid, very narrow and limited light. This project is born due to these reasons. A large mirror box, which provides to this street luminosity and amplitude, its higth also brings better air flow into the street. The requirements of this project were to bring together a large series of very different programmes into one single building. The strategy employed was to allocate one programme for each floor. The thing that would unite these diversity of programs, is the central patio of the building. Each of these floors are connected by individual ramps, which creates a different sensation on each floor due to the different circulation within the levels. This project is very focused on neuroarchitecture, the different emotions perceived by the user. Each floor has a different programme, therefore a completely different language, structurally , decoratively and circulation wise. Each level is designed for the specific programme considering the light, the height, therefore the views from each floor and the desired circulation depending on the activity. Each floor has very different inspirations, as we can see, the bassement houses a circus in which seating is provided by the ramp, thus connecting circulation and activity at the same time, inspired by the Guggenheim in NY by Frank Lloyd Wright. The first floor is dedicated to a sports shop, characterised by a forest of columns inspired by the Kanagawa Institute of Technology Workshop by Junya Ishigami. Finally, the eighth floor, a reading area inspired by Tama Art University Library by Toyo Ito. In conclusion, as can be seen in the drawings, it is a building that holds a variety of programmes and unifies them through circulation.

Water as a light source Design Studio III, Fall Semester 2022 Professor Patricia Medina IE University, Segovia Spain Segovia is a city with a great deal of historical culture, some practices from the 13th century are still preserved today, such as stained glass windows. The audience for these local businesses is decreasing and our aim was to give them more visibility. After several analyses of the field, the customers and the basic needs of stained glass production, several conclusions where made. This land is surrounded by nature and the most desirable feature is the river. After looking into the fauna and flora of the site, the most interesting aspect of it was the light coming from the reflection of the river all day long and even on cloudy days. After talking to different craftsmen, they all had one thing in common, they all required the entry of light into their work space in order to elaborate the stained glass windows with greater precision. After analysing the terrain and the project programme, I came to certain conclusions. The shape of the building should be square and made of glass for a better absorption of light throughout the day. Taking into account that the river is a great source of light within the site, the structure should be on the river. As we can see in the picture on the right explains this concept of the glass boxes over the river. The space should be divided into three blocks, educational, exhibition open to the public to make the craft more visible and a more private one where the artisan work will be carried out. For the stained glass windows to be fully enjoyed, they must need a strong source of light, hence the reason for the glass boxes, which provide a fully illuminated space. The purpose of placing one of the glass boxes above the river is due to the light and reflection provided by the river water. Therefore, the aim of this project is to provides the entrance of different lights in order to display the stained glass windows in several ways.

Modulated Frames Design Studio IV, Fall Semester 2023 Professor Romina Marta Canna IE University, Segovia Spain This project began with the recreation of an existing pavilion, The forest of Venice by Kjellander Sjöberg Architects exhibited at the Collateral Event of the 15th International Architecture Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia. After recreating this project, from drawings to a 1.4 scale model with the original wood material, we would have to use the same pieces of this pavilion to make a variation of it and fit a program into it. The entire project was executed as a group from start to finish, with a special mention to Austin Law, Joseph Quan and Nisarga Ramesh. Following the recreation of this pavilion, we chose a site to develop our project within the city of Segovia, Spain. The garden of San Juan de los Caballeros (page 30) is a garden with a lot of potential but very poorly used, that’s why we chose this land. A place where the people of the surroundings, mostly children, could use this place in a playful and educational way at the same time. Due to this idea we chose a stage as a programme, as the garden contains one but it is not very busy and the intention was to make more use of it. Due to the complexity of the initial structure it was very difficult to find a different way of using the parts. For this reason, we decided to form different modules to simplify the lengthy process (page 36). These modules will be placed around the stage as they serve as seats for the stage. This shape allows all theatre users to see the stage and the position of the modules creates a curiosity in the users, which provokes them to enter the stage. This project has brought us a lot of knoledge on how to deal with the things you are given, how you learn from the process and the observation of all the elements. Also the group work teaches how to listen to different perspectives and visions of the members and find a middle ground.

Studio Alicia López-Izquierdo Internship, Summer 2022 Villanueva de la Vera, Caceres, Spain
I worked for two months in the studio Alicia López izquierdo in the summer of 2023. In this studio I did different projects, like the one shown in the following pages. My role in this company was to clean in autocad all the plans drawn by hand by the architect. In this process I also had a say in certain aspects of the design or finishes in certain parts of the project. I also collaborated making 3D models in Rhinoceros for a better understanding of the project for the clients. I also did several presentations and meetings with clients where I had to explain the project to them, which really helped me understand how to deal with this part of a project that you don’t see at university. In conclusion, this internship helped me a lot to understand better the working environment, from meeting with clients to making carpentry decisions. I had the opportunity to see the different phases of a project from a very close point of view.
