VOICE OF THE ASSOCIATE On the Voice of the Associate committee, a varied group of associates evaluate our store survey and search for ways we can continue to drive positive results and improve in areas of opportunity. Everything the V.O.A. discusses is anonymous as their focus is on situations, not associates that provide information. “Being on the committee means I get to be a voice for change,” said V.O.A. member and D28 Sales Associate, Bryce. “And I’ve never been a part of something like that,” he continued. The committee is constructed of associates from different

departments, age groups, and all different backgrounds. “The idea is to have a team that can relate to the immense diversity in associates at our store, so that YOUR voice can be heard,” said V.O.A Captain and OASM, Connor. “We take pride in making sure that we do what we can as a committee so that you enjoy coming to work, and that we continue to strengthen our Home Depot family,” he further explained. The V.O.A. committee is a unique resource for our associates to provide positive feedback, constructive

criticism, or recommendations. Please connect with any of our V.O.A. members if you have questions, concerns, or comments to share! The 2018 V.O.A survey begins October 1st and we look forward to hearing your opinions! Please answer honestly and make sure that you provide constructive comments when possible. Reminder that voting “neutral” does not help us determine how we are doing, so please reflect on each question individually. Thank you for your feedback and we will see you in the aisles!

“In the TRC, I always teach to our customers how to operate their rental equipment safely, as I demonstrate with proper tools & PPE.”

“In 2017, I helped organize a Team Depot project for a paraplegic young man who was buying his first home. He needed wheel chair access and with the help of 6 other associates we were able to complete the project in time for him to move in. I loved representing Home Depot in the community and can’t wait for the opportunity to give back.”

“I like getting to know all of our associates and helping them to succeed in their roles.”

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why? “I like to travel anywhere into the mountains because that is where I feel the most at home.”

What is your favorite part about working for Home Depot?

“Treat people with respect and give as much as you can. Life is short and I’d rather leave a positive impact on people than be in it for me.”

MET MATTERS Do you ever wonder what those people in the orange polo shirts are up to? Like, why do they push around those little carts? And, how do they know where everything is!? They are MET, the Merchandising Execution Team, a unique team of associates responsible for servicing 1,016 bays of merchandises a month. Tenured MET associate Rochelle states, “We fill, price, and clean up the aisles so our aprons can focus on excellent customer service.” Employed by our vendors, MET takes care of event sets, quarterly MAP, and daily in-stock and shelf-availability expectations. With 10 associates on their Monday through Friday schedule, MET at 1550 is currently 417 days safe.

“Safety is something I talk about with my team every day, because I like to know all my associates are going home in one piece,” said Cody, the MET Department Supervisor. Supporting MET means getting to know MET. As this second half begins, we all have an opportunity to strengthen communication with MET associates and to understand the varying differences in MET roles. “Our days are filled with a sense of accomplishment,” said another tenured MET associate, Kim, “and we love to work together on things like power pack-down!” According to district metrics, after MET touches a bay in the store, sales in that bay increase by 3.14%. As an integral part of the team at 1550 MET matters.
