NEW LOGO DESIGN (COAT OF ARMS) FOR

COUNT ZILCH VON KLUTZ Designer: Schizometric TV/Max Client: Count Zilch von Klutz Contact Details: mermax@gmail.com Date: March 2010

Background — The Count would like his own Coat of Arms. He is a Count by circumstance – not by inheritance - (he bought his title on Ebay) and he would like his own special/personalized Coat of Arms to alert everyone of his newfound status. Klutz is a small village in the valleys of Eastern Europe. It is full of magical characters and animals. The Count would like the design to reflect the character and quirkiness of the village. The Coat of Arms (in real speak – his logo) should impress the `common folk`. It should reflect power & prestige – with a twist of irony - but also humour and charm. He would like the design to contain an animal (or two) and perhaps a crown. He is not opposed to a castle though thinks it might be a little extreme considering he abides in a manor house only.

Target Audience — The Counts` audience is all walks of life: women, children, farmers and town folk. Essentially the entire village. He believes he will win friends and favours by having cute animals on his logo. He would prefer more docile animals, i.e. deer, swans – no animals of the domestic variety. He intends to have a wooden plaque of the `logo` made and suspended from chains at the front entrance of his house.

Objectives — We should provide The Count with three different designs. He can choose to combine aspects of each design if none of the 3 are to his satisfaction. Should none of these three suit – specified elements of each will be compiled and contribute to the final master design. We will measure the success of this project by the Counts satisfaction with his final design.

Deliverables — We will use a palette based around three colors with a simple black outline. Clear lines will be used so the design will still have impact when converted to monochrome or as a wooden engraving.

The Message — The message/motivation of the design is to win the approval and respect of the people of Klutz – it is important that the audience know that The Count is `the man about town`. In fact, he is now the namesake of the village and Count Zilch von Klutz should be seen as one of the `important` people in the village and known and revered by all.

Timeline — The delivery date is 30 days from commencement. By 3 weeks – after 3 different designs have been mocked up – a 3rd meeting with The Count will take place (revisions) to refine the master copy. Three weeks. Three designs. Three meetings and the final design will be delivered on the 30th day with payment in full.

Budget — The total cost will be $3000. Any additional changes after the fact (the master design has been delivered) will be at an additional charge – an hourly rate of $50. Each extra meeting

Approvals — The master copy of the logo / coat of arms will be handed over to The Count on the 3rd meeting and he will sign off and pay the final & 3rd payment of $1000. Total $3000.
