MERRIAM
I’m honored to be the Mayor of Merriam. We’re a city of just over 11,000 people, ideally located in northeast Johnson County, Kansas, and just minutes from everywhere in the Kansas City metro region. Merriam is just right, and I encourage you to explore our local businesses, stay for the weekend, or make Merriam your forever home!
To accompany your visit, be sure to refer back to this guide, as you’ll find a great sampling of fun, seasonal events like the Turkey Creek Festival, Turkey Creek Car & Motorcycle Show, and Merriam Drive Live. You can explore places to shop, like Slater St. Antiques, Sunflower Market, or the highly popular IKEA. If you’re hungry, grab a bite to eat at Hurricane Allie’s, El Pulgarcito, or Anita’s. Learn about Merriam’s history using the Otocast app, or stop by Merriam Historic Plaza to view the historic markers. From food to events, history to shopping, you’ll find something to do around every corner in Merriam!
