Great design calls for great art (and vice versa!)

We love to see an interior designer complete their vision with the perfect work of art, or even design a room around an inspirational piece.

We asked some of our talented design partners to share their favorite piece from our collection... check out what they’re loving.

“ I love the scale of Hyunmee Lee’s pieces. I believe placing oversized artwork into any interior can be so powerful. It will transform any room, and because of the size and impact it should be considered an integral part of the room, not an afterthought.

The artist’s playful interpretations of Mother Nature evoke a carefree spirit that I find uplifting. The beautiful juxtaposition of the vibrant colors creates a joyful view of the world, as if greater things are on the horizon.

wowed with TOM BOLLES

Tom Bolles’ Luminous 8 is a striking piece. The prodigious scale of Tom’s work is part of the appeal to me; not only is it large, it’s impactful in terms of color and imagery. This work fits perfectly with the direction our work is focusing on now. Whether this piece is placed in a more minimal interior where it would shine singularly or in a traditional space where it would have a strong contrast to its surroundings, it would work so well and have longevity of appeal.

I love the size and scale of this piece. The raw edges between colors and the layers of brushstrokes create a sublime, ethereal tone in what could be a stark linear work.

Exponent, Acrylic on Panel, 72 × 84 in.

The arresting stare of Eleanor, the majestic Highland Cow captured by Randal Ford, immediately draws me into a conversation with her. I’ve always loved how art compels us to pause and reflect often before we even know it is happening, and this portrait unabashedly does just that. As much as the portrait is a static moment capturing light and texture, it is a living moment too as Eleanor honestly presents herself and asks the viewer to do the same.

talking about GAVIN BENJAMIN

Art is personal and should spark conversation. I love the bold color and historical references with a modern take. This piece would be so much fun to build a room around and would certainly get people talking.
