making a statement with ALPHA BY ROSE MASTERPOL

I LOVE a statement. Alpha makes a statement. The colors. The scale. Every single this about this piece speaks to me. You put this up in a room and I promise you it will spark a conversation.

These dynamic shapes are just so amazing on any wall but especially fabulous on stairs and oversize walls! They activate a wall in a way that no rectangular framed canvas possibly can.

I like to vary my artwork mediums throughout a project so this is also a great pairing with a more classic format.

talking about VESTEBRO, COPENHAGEN BY XAN PADRON

I just love Xan Padron’s work and storytelling! The way he portrays the inhabitants of each city in his Time Lapse Series is so unique. The myriad of cities that he has photographed provides an amazing opportunity for clients to connect to his art. Talk about a conversation starter in the heart of any room. I particularly love Vestebro, Copenhagen. The composition’s architectural details with the yellow building and dark windows creates a bold and graphic backdrop to showcase the people of the city going on with their daily lives.

4 O’Clock by Beatriz Simon speaks to my inner vibe. The movement of linear aspects mixed with the abstract marks and shapes add interest and complexity. The pops of color excite me, layered on an otherwise neutral base, along with touches of negative space, really brings clarity and peace to mind.

intrigued by ALWAYS MOVING FORWARD BY NATHALIE BOISSONNAULT

From the first time I entered the gallery I was intrigued by, and attracted to, Boissonnault’s interesting work due to my affinity for animals and mixed media art. And her work so perfectly blends both. I love how she marries intricately folded collaged maps and texts with acrylic painting and urban street art. In this piece, specifically, the bear’s gentle posture and the floating blue balloon add whimsical elements, while the smaller origami rabbit leads the way, hinting at themes of guidance and companionship.

in awe of TANGLED BY ARIEL VARGASSAL

I’ve commissioned Ariel Vargassal’s work several times over the years and I always keep coming back to him for a breath of fresh air. Not only am I in awe of the precision and detail in his pieces, but the clever titling and artful way in which he portrays some of the most unexpected, and yet thought provoking relationships.

feeling the energy of FRACTAL

I love this vibrant painting. Ben Schwab captures the joyful and vibrant energy of urban life without getting too caught up in the specific details. You can feel the chaos but also the colorful warmth and excitement of the bustle.

I’m captivated by the scale of Simon’s work. Her large pieces create such a meaningful impact in a space. Her paintings, with their beautiful layers and expressiveness, are instantly recognizable. Every time I see one of her pieces installed, it brings a smile to my face!

ANNIVERSARY

NO. 42 BY JOSEPH ADOLPHE

I chose this luminous larger scale piece because it is stunning and impactful. With energetic brush strokes the artist elevates the ordinary to the exalted with objects such as a white linen napkin and drinking glass. The end result is whimsical, elegant and perhaps spiritual. This painting adds drama and interest to spaces such as a living room, dining room or moody bar area.

The expression on the orangutan’s face just felt like he was connecting with me!

I have dogs, and I feel like any direct eye contact from an animal is such a big deal, so I appreciate that aspect of the photograph. She also looks like she’s looking at you like you just did something maybe a little crazy or something that you shouldn’t have and she’s like “What are we going to do with you?” It makes me laugh but also makes me feel super affectionate for an orangutan, which isn’t something I usually am!
