4 Day 2 • Thursday 05.12.2019 Continued from page 1 VALGRO... What has been your experience so far on the day one of ENGIMACH 2019? It has been a great first day – we hoped that a lot of people would visit the show from the industrial hub of Rajkot, which they did. We have seen that usually there is not a lot of visitors on the first day of any trade show. But we were pleasantly surprised to see that not only the first day opened to a rush of visitors, the visitors were very informed about the metalworking market and had a good knowledge of the types of products they were looking for. Overall, ENGIMACH, in my view, is a really good platform for the industry, particularly the SMEs. Over the last 20 years, it has become an internationally recognized brand. Which sectors are your main customer segments and what are the main market trends? Our focus sector areas are automotive and aerospace. The sheet metal fabrication industry is our main customer segment. Metal cutting technologies such as laser cutting, waterjet cutting or plasma cutting are being adopted fast across customer segments – today even smaller units buy plasma and laser cutting machines – and all these technologies leave out burrs. However, a lot of Indian manufacturers still do manual deburring which makes the makes the metal lose its quality and causes lot of wastage during production. To solve these issues, we have launched deburring machines (see page 7 for product details) for flat sheet metal parts for fast production. We provide live demonstration to customers who visit our stall ENGIMACH 2019 Hall 13 / Stall 50

Renishaw expands range of encoders Renishaw builds on functionally safe (FS) portfolio by introducing two new encoders
Renishaw, the global engineering technologies company, builds on its existing functionally safe (FS) portfolio by introducing two new encoders for both linear and rotary applications — RESOLUTE™ FS with BiSS® Safety absolute open optical encoder system, and TONiC™ FS incremental open optical encoder system. The RESOLUTE Functional Safety (RESOLUTE FS) optical absolute encoder is based on the design of the award winning RESOLUTE series with elements redesigned to meet FS safety standards. The TONiC Functional Safety (TONiC FS) optical encoder combines full FS compliance with the exceptional metrology performance, ultimate reliability and other benefits of the established TONiC encoder range. Both the RESOLUTE FS BiSS Safety encoder and the TONiC FS encoder are certified to ISO 13849 Category 3 PLd, IEC 61508 SIL2 and IEC 61800-5-2 SIL2. Full FS certification is required to guarantee the safe use of functions that include safe
stops 1 and 2, safe operating stop (SOS) and safe limited speed (SLS) — all of which require functionally safe encoder feedback. RESOLUTE FS encoders are compatible with the open source BiSS Safety serial communications protocol and Siemens’ Drive-CLiQ protocol. TONiC FS encoders are available with the TONiC Ti-000 analogue interface and Dual Output (DOP) interface options. About RESOLUTE encoders Renishaw’s RESOLUTE encoder is the world's most advanced single-track true-absolute optical encoder system delivering up to 1 nanometre resolution, superior long-term reliability, instant operation after power-up without reference return and high-speed metrology at speeds up to 100 m/s. The RESOLUTE series is ideal for advanced motion control applications and enables smooth velocity control with Sub-Divisional Error (SDE) of <±40 nm and excellent positional stability via jitter (noise) of <10 nm RMS. The advantages of open-absolute encoders over enclosed designs include large through-hole rotary (angle) ring scales for easy design-in, low inertia and low-profile components and the absence of wear associated with contacting parts. Furthermore, RESOLUTE encoders offer easy installation as a result of generous set-up tolerances and an integral set-up LED, excellent dirt immunity and IP64 sealing, giving outstanding performance even on the long axes typical of heavy industrial applications. About TONiC encoders Renishaw’s TONiC encoder is designed for highly-dynamic precision motion systems, enabling better accuracy, higher speed and greater reliability in a wide variety of demanding industry applications. TONiC readheads incorporate Renishaw’s market-proven third generation filtering optics, which is further enhanced by dynamic signal processing including Auto Gain Control and Auto Offset Control. The result is low Sub-Divisional Error (SDE) and low noise (jitter), giving smooth velocity control for improved scanning performance and increased positional stability. Renishaw will be exhibiting its encoder product ranges at SPS IPC Drives Nuremberg (Germany) from 26–28 November 2019. Please visit stand 231 in Hall 4A to talk to our expert sales and technical staff about functionally safe encoders and your metrology needs. RENISHAW ENGIMACH 2019 Hall 10 / Stall 32B

SCHUNK Co-act EGP-C Gripper
Commissioning tools and flexible attachment fingers are key for an easy entry of Co-act grippers into the human-robot collaboration
O
ver the past year, the SCHUNK Co-act EGP-C gripper has been certified as the world's first industrial gripper by the DGUV for use in collaborative applications. Now the competence leader for gripping systems and clamping technology is gaining momentum and equipping the easy to operate programming components for lightweight and small robots from Universal Robots. Universal attachment fingers with interchangeable inserts made of plastic also facilitate the entry into the field of collaborative robotics. "It is our aim to make access to the fascinating world of Cobots as easy as possible", explains Prof. Dr. Markus Glück, Head of Research & Development/ CINO at SCHUNK GmbH & Co. KG in Lauffen, Germany. "This is why we will successively expand the SCHUNK Co-act gripper modular system for collaborative applications with powerful programming modules and plugins for collaborative industrial robots, by means of which the integration of components at the end of the robot arm will be just as simple and flexible as the installation of the Cobot." Intuitive commissioning The SCHUNK Co-act EGP-C gripper can communicate and parameterize in several ways: Via the central control system as was previously the case, or -by using the plugin - via an intuitively operable user interface. Within just a few minutes, the SCHUNK Co-act EGP-C gripper can be commissioned. Then the gripper can receive data from the superordinate control system or transmit them to it. If SCHUNK Coact EGP-C grippers are used on robots from Universal Robots, the control unit is already integrated into the user interface of the robot, and the components can be directly set up via the control panel of the robot. Standardized attachment fingers In order to ensure a high degree of flexibility, particularly in the initial phase, SCHUNK is expanding its Co-act range with standardized attachment fingers that can be equipped with universally usable interchangeable inserts in various geometries. The attachment fingers facilitate the entry into automation
and the fast success without the user having to get bogged down in details. The Co-act EGP-C gripper comes as a completely pre-assembled unit with the corresponding interface for the KUKA LBR iiwa, UR and FANUC CR robots. It satisfies the requirements of EN ISO 10218-1/-2 and ISO/TS 15066 and has been certified by the German Statutory Accident Insurance Association (DGUV) for use in collaborative applications. The gripper can be actuated very easily via digital I/O. Due to an operating voltage of 24 V DC, it is also suitable for mobile deployment. The entire regulation and power electronics are fitted in the interior of the gripper, meaning they don't take up any space in the control cabinet. To make collaboration with the user as smooth and intuitive as possible, the gripper is equipped with LED traffic light colored lighting which the operator can use to signal the status of the module. The certified gripper for small components is available in sizes 25, 40, 50, and 64 with finger strokes of 3 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, and 10 mm and workpiece weights of 0.19 kg, 0.7 kg, 1.05 kg, and 1.3 kg.
