AERO 2013 - Your Destination Providing an annual meeting place for the general aviation community, AERO Friedrichshafen is a perfect platform for innovation and the driving force for the entire industry. Global networking opportunities and sustainable cooperation with major aviation associations are the keys to AERO’s success. Partnership with these associations allows AERO Friedrichshafen to seek out and address issues of importance to the general aviation community and to organize supporting events which add significant value to the trade show.

Range of exhibits:

•Business Jets •Single and Twin-Engine Aircraft •Light Aircraft (UL, VLA, LSA) •Motor Gliders •Gliders •Amphibious Aircraft and Seaplanes •Kit Planes •Helicopters •Air Sports Equipment •Used Aircraft •Drones, UAS & UAV •Engines, Propulsion Systems and Propellers •Components and Materials •Avionics, Cockpit and Onboard Systems •Cabin Equipment •Ground Support Equipment •Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul •Pilot Equipment and Supplies •Tuition and Training •Aerodromes •Other Services

AERO responds to the needs of the market with innovative ideas. For example, the Light Aircraft Manufacturers Association Europe (LAMA-EU) was founded by 33 leading European light aircraft manufacturers at AERO 2010.

The fascination with flight and the people who are passionate about aviation are major assets to AERO Friedrichshafen. “Be(come) a Pilot” Particular focus at AERO Friedrichshafen is on the promotion of young talents. The “Be(come) a pilot” program is specifically intended for those looking for information on training opportunities and careers in the aviation sector.

Helicopter Hangar Another integral part of AERO Friedrichshafen is the Helicopter Hangar, which has enjoyed constant growth over the last few years. Manufacturers, operators, aviation companies, flying schools, authorities and organizations from the rotary-wing sector will be present in the Helicopter Hangar in Hall B5. Extensive support from leading trade associations and AERO’s exemplary infrastructure have largely contributed to the favorable development of the helicopter section. AERO Friedrichshafen is the only exhibition center that provides a self-supporting exhibition hall featuring state-of-the-art technical equipment, sliding doors of up to 22 meters in width and its very own helipad adjacent to the hall.

Engine Area AERO 2012 saw the successful launch of the Engine Area, a new section particularly devoted to engines and propulsion systems. More than 20 exhibitors presented the latest propulsion technologies ranging from electric to even turbine engines, thus providing a comprehensive overview of the products available on the market. A series of top-flight lectures as well as numerous activities and presentations covering all aspects of engines supported the exhibition. It is intended to extend the Engine Area to include Maintenance and Engine Management in the future.

e-flight expo Ecological, electrical, evolutionary – this is what the e-flight expo at AERO Friedrichshafen is devoted to. The special exhibition focuses on innovative propulsion concepts, continuous development of such systems as well as new, future-oriented technologies. Various projects and new developments promoting ecological sustainability and progress in aviation are being presented at the e-flight expo every year.

AERO 2013 - Your Success John Doman, Director Business Development, Global Sales & Marketing, Flight Design GmbH: “As always, the AERO was the best event of the year for reaching our potential customers in Europe. The show is very well organized, and very productive in terms of the possibilities it offers us to have personal discussions with customers and suppliers, to make new deals, and to expand interest in our products. The exhibition grounds here in Friedrichshafen are the best in the world for an aviation exhibition. With its bright and inviting halls, the runway right next door and of course Lake Constance and the Alps in the immediate vicinity, Friedrichshafen is just perfect for this kind of event. In short: we love the AERO, not just because of the show itself, but especially because of the new business relationships we are able to develop here. The friendliness and good service provided by the Messe Friedrichshafen team are perfect. This was an outstanding AERO 2012.”

Peter Kaiblinger, Sales Director Europe, Embraer Europe: “We always feel very well taken care of at the show in Friedrichshafen. At the AERO, we always expect high quality discussions with customers and this year, those expectations were fulfilled once again. Customers are very interested in our Phenom 100 and 300.” Walter da Costa, Sales Manager, Tecnam: “Like every year, the AERO is where we go to meet all of our international dealers and customers. We successfully presented our new P92 Tail Dragger and P92 Seasky aircraft, as well as the P2010 four seater. We expect to conclude about 35 new contracts by the close of the show. We are very satisfied.”

Jeff Johnson, Global Event Manger, Cirrus Aircraft: “We are very pleased with how the show went. Our new model, the SR 22 GTS, attracted a lot of visitors. Our press conference on Wednesday, where we presented our new ‘Cirrus Vision’ project, among other things, was a success. We have already had serious sales enquiries and we are expecting solid post-show business.” Christian Dries, CEO, Diamond Aircraft Industries GmbH: “I see the development of the AERO over the last few years as very positive. But this year’s show was the best yet. The AERO was the ideal platform to present our two premiere aircraft, the DA 52 and VI, to the world for the first time.”

Igor Perkon, Marketing Department, Pipistrel: “For us, Friedrichshafen was a great opportunity to present the new Panthera for the first time. Everything went just perfectly. We specifically chose the AERO to premiere the Panthera because it is one of the most important aircraft shows in the world.” Andreas Hennig, Chief Ground Instructor, HeliAviation Augsburg: “The aviation trade show in Friedrichshafen is very important for us as a way to acquire new students and to further establish ourselves worldwide as a dealer of the Cabri G2. The AERO 2012 went well in both respects and we are really very satisfied. A lot of international visitors come to us. Some come because of the G2. Others want to get detailed information about attending our flight school and our new academy, because they would like to eventually work as helicopter pilots for the police or ambulance services.”
