It’s been another prosperous year for our beautiful Dubai office, and as we look back on a stellar 2016, here’s a few highlights on what we’ve achieved together on our way to becoming the most profitable out of 30 global subsidiaries in the Messe Frankfurt Group. First, our nine exhibitions combined featured a shade under 6,000 exhibitors in 2016, six per cent more than 2015, and representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10 per cent over the last five years. They also collectively attracted 124,000 visitors, a 13 per cent jump on 2015, and 11 per cent more in compound annual growth since 2012. In terms of net square metre space covered, our shows spanned 113,000sqm in 2016, which is also six per cent more than last year, while the CAGR over the last five years also stands at 13 per cent. These figures of course include two new shows this year, which we’ll come to shortly, but the bottom line is the bottom line, and that looks good as well: approximately US$8.7 million in net profit booked on US$53.4 million in sales revenue, which also happens to be a six per cent increase on 2015! All this is down to your hard work, perseverance, and tenacity in overcoming numerous obstacles in what has no doubt been a challenging year for global economies and shifting tides in international trade, which affects us all. There’re simply too many milestones this year to list them now, but several include the successful debuts of Automechanika Jeddah and Prolight + Sound Middle East, while the conference division continues to pave the way with some very impressive events, notably the BOHS Worker Health Protection Conference, and the International Conference on Future Mobility. It’s now the ‘silly season’, where we can all recharge and spend some quality time with our loved ones, before looking ahead to what promises to be an even busier and more successful year in 2017. Like always we would like to express our gratitude for your continuous hard work and support. We are what we are because of you! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year The Management Team
