ne of Owensboro’s landmark downtown buildings is being offered for sale, and it could be the perfect opportunity for someone seeking commercial property, as it has the added bonuses of current tenants and the space for growth. The west side of the second floor and all of the third floor houses the Kentucky Department of Corrections Division for Probation and Parole, which features multiple administrative office spaces and gathering spaces to accommodate large gatherings. The fourth floor is dedicated to TrueNorth Treatment Center, which has spaces suited for conference meetings, receptionists, waiting areas and offices. “We’ve got some ver y happy long-term tenants,” Hayden said. “They’re not leaving; they stay.” Alongside the lobby entrance on Daviess Street features is a door leading to an unfinished 7,500-squarefoot basement that could be home to another venture. Hayden hopes the new owner will look forward to starting up new projects within the building. “We always thought that (the basement) would be a great place to have a small little restaurant, or a lounge or something along those lines,” Hayden said. Hayden also hopes the new owner will take advantage of other spaces that haven’t been utilized since upgrades were made, such as stabilizing the roof and putting in new HVAC systems in 2016. “We got the ability to do some roof-top-type (business),” Hayden said.
