In 2011, Jagoe Homes was developing the area east of Horse Fork Creek Park. At the same time, Tim Ross was on the hunt for a home for his growing family, and they spied potential in that pocket of Seven Hills near Fairview Drive. “We looked at several different parts of town,” Tim says. “We love the area. ... It’s centrally located and connected, yet still very close to downtown.” After deciding on an existing Jagoe home design featuring four bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths and an attached two-car garage, the Rosses chose the sunny lot at 2860 Silver Creek Loop and tweaked the blueprint to space out the kitchen, widen doorways and expand the

master bath. Tim says the family was attracted to the home’s living arrangement: All bedrooms and the laundry room are on the second level, giving parents close access to their young children. Meanwhile, the open living space on the first level allows for multiple gathering spots. As a newer build, the home also comes with updated appliances and energy efficiency, such as the tankless water heater — an “invaluable” investment for a growing family, Tim says — and an HVAC system that allows for independent temperature control for each floor. The couple have also customized their home by putting hand-scraped hardwood on the first floor and installing bookshelves flanking the living room’s gas fireplace. A window seat was custom built for the upstairs landing, which serves as

sitting room and study area. 2860 Silver Creek Loop is also the perfect home for a family who enjoys the outdoors. The front porch comfortably fits a bistro table and chairs overlooking the charming landscaping. The expansive back yard is fenced in and offers a broad canvas for planting vegetable and flower gardens. Furthermore, the home is only 0.3 miles from Horse Fork Creek Park and offers quick access to the adjacent Greenbelt, something Tim says his family has enjoyed immensely. “We are a very active family, and we are on that Greenbelt five-to-six days a week, it seems like,” he says. “And because there’s so little traffic, you can take your kids — even when they’re small — you can go out with your kids without getting on any major roads.”

Whether basking in the summer sun while strolling through nearby Lake Forest or sliding down snow-laden hills at Horse Fork Creek Park, Tim says “the Greenbelt is kind of the artery for it.” Despite originally being a Jagoe design, 2860 Silver Creek Loop has gotten personalized treatment from the Ross family over the years. “We did lots of updates to make it more ‘our home,’ ” Tim says. “It has a lot of square footage” — 2,670, to be exact — and “a tremendous amount of cabinet space and storage. “It’s a great house for a young, growing family,” he adds. “Most families have got two, three, four kids, and you can fit in that house wonderfully.” Robert Williams, Triple Crown Realty Group
