entucky Legend is the flagship brand of Specialty Foods Group LLC. Located in Owensboro, Kentucky they have gone by many names but one tends to remind everyone of their heritage within our community — Field Packing. If you aren’t from the big O, Field Packing began in 1914 with just a horse and buggy, delivering fine quality meats to those in the community. Since then, they have grown to become the nation’s number one natural juice ham and produce more than 90 million pounds of delicious product shipped annually with more than 7 brands located throughout the United States. Now, Indiana Packers Corporation has joined the team of Legends to create a powerhouse within the industry. They are a fully integrated pork company operating entirely within the heart of the Midwest. With over 2200 team members who manage round-the-clock production; their state of the art facilities are able to produce a complete line of the freshest pork products on the market. With this new acquisition, we can expect to see both companies merge into one of the nation’s largest powerhouses within the pork industry.
