SPROMOTES HOP OWENSBORO SHOPPING SMALL! Shop Owensboro 2019, powered by Independence Bank, was another great day of celebrating and shopping local! The Chamber and Independence Bank team passed out 500 total shopping bags between both the HWY 54 and Frederica Street Independence Bank locations in record time! Over 60 local retailers participated in this year’s Shop Owensboro, with several more Chamber Members sharing information about their businesses through inserts in the exclusive Shop Owensboro shopping bags! The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce would like to extend a Thank You to every participant for making this day so special for our community, as well as those who continue to Shop Owensboro first every day!

YP Unite Summit welcomed regional Young Professionals The Greater Owensboro Chamber Young Professionals (CYP) hosted the annual YP Unite Summit, presented by Owensboro Health, on November 14 and 15. This exciting event for our community drew a crowd of 150 young professionals from around the region. The Summit opened on Thursday evening with a celebration toast hosted by the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, followed by the official welcome reception held at O.Z. Tyler Distillery’s historic Bottling House. Friday kicked off at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum with energizing words from KWC Head Football Coach Craig Yeast, followed by a day full of inspiring breakout sessions. Featured speakers included: Fuji Avdic - Founder, Stryker Logistics; Brad Niemeier Founder and Co-CEO, Azzip Pizza; Amanda Owen - Founder and Executive Director, Puzzle Pieces; Dr. Fred Reeves - Co-Founder, A+ Leadership LLC; Hubert Mussat and Dr. Katy Groves-Mussat - Owners, Farmer & Frenchman Winery; Kelly May - Sr. Extension Assoc.

The keynote address was delivered by Bracken Darrell, President and CEO of Logitech and Owensboro, Kentucky native. As president and chief executive officer of Logitech, Bracken Darrell is responsible for Logitech’s strategy for growth and profitability, for the vision for the brand as well as for the company’s operations. Mr. Darrell joined Logitech as president in April 2012, and assumed the role of chief executive officer in January 2013. The annual YP Unite Summit will return to its founding location, Louisville, Kentucky, for the 2020 event.
