(concert )

Legendary jam band, Widespread Panic, announces shows in Cedar Rapids on Oct. 28 and Ames on Oct. 29. Tickets go on sale for both concerts on Aug. 25 at 10 a.m. With more than 25 years of traveling under its belt, Widespread Panic is one of the most storied and experienced touring bands in the music scene. From its origins in front man John Bell's University of Georgia dorm room, Widespread Panic has gone on to thrill crowds at festivals like Bonnaroo, Wakarusa and Azalea with a euphoric, adventurous sound that fuses blues, southern rock and funk. After a brief hiatus, Widespread Panic is back without missing a beat, performing alongside legends like Gregg Allman and Dr. John, and continuing to thrill its own fans while winning over new ones.

Widespread Panic will host food drives at both shows. The goal of their Panic Fans for Food initiative is to "feed people through music." To date, this endeavor has raised more than $81,000 and provided over 9,600 pounds of food for communities across the country. Concert attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods or monetary donations to both Iowa shows.
