It contains exclusive content not found in any other of the Pulse’s printed publications and is the place to turn for up-to-the-minute news and updates. Accessible from anywhere in the world, pulse.messiah.edu is a place where prospective and current students, faculty, and alumni can become familiar with Messiah’s community. Established in 2011.

Ad insertions in the yearbook must be no lower than 300 dpi/ppi to ensure proper reproduction in the publication process. The 2013 Clarion yearbook will be published in over 300 copies consisting of 240 pages. The Clarion yearbook will be available for purchase beginning on September 27, 2013. Refer to the pulse.messiah.edu for online ordering and space availablity. The Clarion Yearbook will be finalized and published around early May, 2014.

Radio Advertising Research indicates that radio is the last medium to which a consumer is exposed before making a buying decision, whether listeners are at home or at work, riding in their cars, or hearing the radio while they shop. Radio is a medium in which quantity and frequency are your keys to success. WVMM 90.7 “The V” radio offers multiple advertising options to ensure you find the exposure you are looking for. The station’s Top 40/alternative & indie format is designed to target a listening audience ages 18 to 35. WVMM offers a variety of programs designed to target a wide range of audiences. Weekday mornings feature satellite and downloaded programs including the Lincoln Radio Journal, The Score, Backstory, The Takeaway, Classical 24, and Q. Popular weekend programs include Hear the World, Bluegrass Review, Maximum Hits, and Under the Radar. Live programs on WVMM run weekly from 2 p.m. to midnight. These programs are completely student-run and attract listeners not only from Messiah College’s domestic audience, but also from audiences of local communities and businesses.

Ad Placement Advertising placement in The Swinging Bridge is not guaranteed. Requests will be honored whenever possible.

Acceptance Policy To protect the interests of readers and advertisers, The Pulse has adopted a code of advertising acceptability standards that applies to all media under the jurisdiction of The Pulse. The students make decisions concerning acceptability of specific content. All advertising is subject to acceptance by The Pulse, which reserves the right to reject copy at its sole discretion any time prior to publication.

Ad Content Policy Any advertisements that include alcohol-related content, pornographic content, content pertaining to cigarettes/tobacco products, or ads containing violent or vulgar content will not be admitted to any media for which The Pulse has jurisdiction. All advertising is subject to the ad content policy by The Pulse, which reserves the right to determine which advertisements may or may not be admitted for publishing any time prior to publication.

Ad Liability The advertiser assumes full liability for all advertising placed and agrees to hold The Pulse harmless for the content of ads authorized for print or broadcast. The advertiser also represents that it has full authority to use any logos, trademarks, or other product and service identifiers protected by copyright.

Payment Policy Payment for advertising is required at the time an order is placed. Payment options include cash and check only. Payment terms are net 30 days. Accounts unpaid for more than 30 days may be refused further advertising. Make all checks payable to The Pulse – Messiah College Media Lab.

Policies Deadlines

For regular issues of the Swinging Bridge, the deadline for space reservation, copy, art, and payment for display advertising is 5 p.m. one week (5 business days) in advance of the issue’s publication date. The deadline to place, correct, or cancel an ad is 5 p.m. 3 business days in advance. For advertisements placed in the Clarion Yearbook, the deadline for space reservation, copy, art, and payment for display advertising is 5 p.m. one week prior to the publication date. The Pulse and its various departments reserve the right to change any publication dates at its sole discretion and to promptly inform advertisers of all changes as they are made.

Errors Advertisements inserted in the Swinging Bridge and Clarion Yearbook only are eligible for make goods. Make goods will be given for the portion of the ad in error only. It is the responsibility of the advertiser to promptly notify the Design Team of significant errors. The Swinging Bridge will be responsible for first-time errors only. The limit of responsibility will be the total cost of the ad in which the error occurred. The Swinging Bridge assumes no financial responsibility for advertisements that do not appear in the paper.

Pulse Discounts for Multiple Media Buys 10% discount on Radio order when you buy Print or Online in combination with Radio. Discounts do not apply to Print or Online advertisements. Advertising must be scheduled concurrently.
