National funding is available from the Deutscher Filmförderfonds, which is open to anyone shooting in Germany Germany is teeming with boutique distributors (well over 100 separate companies release films each year) Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg is among the richest of the regional funding organisations, with production support funds of around €25 million per year. In June 2003 Met Film School opened its doors in London to its first short course in filmmaking, the brainchild of Thomas Hoegh and Luke Montagu. Met Film has since grown to include a production and postproduction business and in 2012 Met Film Berlin opened. Ten years on, I have the enormous privilege of steering Met Film into its second decade.

What I am most proud of are the achievements of our students. During 2013 four feature films written, directed or produced by Met graduates will have had commercial theatrical releases, three in the UK and one in France. Over 80% of graduates from our full-time programmes are working at the heart of the creative industries in a mixture of freelance and permanent roles. Whichever programme you choose, whether it’s long or short, general or specialist, a first degree or a treat to yourself, we look forward to welcoming you to Met Film School Berlin and helping you navigate your path through the wonderful and complex world of film.

With a hands-on approach, you will write, direct and edit your own films, whilst also enjoying the strong support that comes from collaborative teamwork. Our tutors in Berlin, drawn from around the world, are all industry professionals whose passion and experience will guide you through every step of the filmmaking process. We give you the time, resources and support to discover what you want to say in the language of film. Based at BUFA Studios, the school is located in one of the key hubs of Berlin’s artistic communities and at the heart of a vibrant, busy working studio. Born in 2003 First 8-week course takes place in Clapham, London. 2005 Move into Ealing Studios, London. First unaccredited one-year course begins. Met Film acquires post-production business. 2006 Met Film launches production business. 2007 25 students enrol on first BA programme with the then TVU (now known as University of West London). 2009 BA Practical Filmmaking launches with 119 enrolments. Meanwhile, Met Film Production’s Little Ashes and French Film are released in the UK and other territories. 2010 Teddy Cherim and Kees van Nieuwkerk’s graduation film, Sterke Verhalen (Tall Stories), is released in 34 cities across Holland and Belgium. Met Film Production’s The Infidel opens in over 40 territories. 2011 Egill Kristbjornsson’s graduation film, Paper, premieres at Tribeca alongside Met Film Production’s Donor Unknown, which is then released in cinemas in the UK. 2012 Met Film School Berlin opens. Meanwhile Met Film Production’s Town of Runners, conceived and co-produced by graduate Dan Demissie, opens in Tribeca and is released in cinemas in the UK by Dogwoof. Another MFS student, Perry Bhandal, sees his film, Interview with a Hitman, released by Kaleidoscope – a year after he pitched the idea at the school. 2013 Commercial releases in the UK and Germany for Papadopoulos and Sons (graduate, Marcus Markou) and in France for White Lie (graduate, Nyima Cartier), and for Met Film Production films, Village at the End of the World, and The Great Hip Hop Hoax. Also, Ross Domoney’s graduation film, The High Price of Gold, wins top prize at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival.

ABOUT MET FILM SCHOOL BERLIN Met Film School opened its doors to budding filmmakers nearly ten years ago, and following its success we decided to launch a second campus in Berlin - the heart of independent filmmaking. Met Film School Berlin follows exactly the same ethos as our London School, offering an intensive practical filmmaking experience taught by industry professionals in an active film studio. Students are able to feel completely integrated within the Berlin filmmaking community, working in an environment that is steeped in cinematic and filmmaking history. Classes are primarily taught in English, in accordance with our accreditation by the University of West London, however we will be offering some of our short and part-time courses in German from Autumn 2013. Met Film School Berlin is based at BUFA; the studio that has been home to film productions since the Weimar Republic and is one of the oldest film studios in Europe. The school’s location enables students to have first-hand experience of a working film studio on a day-to-day basis, and also places them in the heart of the city. Met Film School Berlin is also a desirable destination for Non-EU students seeking the flexibility to work whilst studying. It’s possible for overseas students to work 180 half days per year (four hours a day) whilst studying in Germany.

In 2013 Met Film School Berlin moves to BUFA (Berliner Union-Film) and introduces new German-language short courses. 6

FILMMAKING IN BERLIN

WHY STUDY FILMMAKING IN BERLIN?

Berlin is an exciting, cosmopolitan cultural hub that continues to attract filmmakers and artists from around the world. Berlin has a strong TV, film and creative media start-up community: together they make up a professional workforce of over 300,000. For filmmakers, Berlin’s ability to offer strong financial incentives to international productions has made it a central player in the global market. Films produced in the BerlinBrandenburg region have ranged from low budget independent movies to blockbusters such as Stephen Daldry’s “The Reader”, Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglorious Basterds” and most recently George Clooney’s “Monument Men,” making Berlin film crews in high demand. Berlin is also host to the Berlinale, one of the top four film festivals in Europe, with an emphasis on showcasing new filmmakers and celebrating independent filmmaking. As such, Met Film School Berlin has incorporated the Berlinale into the curriculum for accredited students students are given a festival pass for screenings, networking and the well respected Berlinale Talent Campus, a series of workshops and discussions hosted by well known film figures such as Jane Campion, Matthew Libatique, Ken Loach, Tom Tykwer and Gael Garcia Bernal. Met Film School is sponsoring the Interfilm Short Film Festival, which hosts special events and programmes in cinemas across Berlin. Students can also attend the many film events, pop-up screenings and parties organized by the Berlin Film Society (set up by British ex-pat Jack Howard).

Met Film School Berlin also plans to help our graduates gain real experience in the film industry and provide and help student films be successful in festivals and commercially through Met GO (Met Graduate Opportunities). Met GO connects graduates with full-time jobs, freelance contracts, internships and placements. It helps graduates establish a network of contacts through Met Film School’s relationships with its industry partners. Masterclasses and workshops are also held at the school throughout the year. Guests at Met Film School Berlin have included award-winning director/producer Jerry Rothwell (Deep Water, Donor Unknown, Heavy Load, Town of Runners). Students also benefit from live-screenings of masterclasses held at our London school, where guests have included directors David Yates and John Landis. Berlin is the capital of Germany and is also the largest city with a population of 4.4 million within its metropolitan area. Berlin has extremely efficient public transport links and a diverse cultural environment making it the perfect location for learning, exploring and visiting. Berlin’s geographic position within Central Europe gives students the opportunity to explore neighbouring film hubs: Leipzig hosts the renowned DoK film festival annually, Poland’s Camerimage Festival is a must for any aspiring cinematographer and nearby Hamburg, Prague and Budapest are all established locations for large feature productions. Berlin is an affordable option for our students, a good standard of accommodation is available at relatively low cost and living expenses are also kept low, with an all-day ticket for public transport costing around €6. Non-EU students are also able to work 180 half-days per year (4 hours a day) while they study with us, making Berlin a really attractive destination for International study.

LIVING IN BERLIN

Berlin’s charm lies in its unique landscape and undeniably diverse culture, with its world-class museums, art galleries, restaurants and nightspots. Eating out can be an inexpensive affair for Berliners with an array of international cuisine readily available. Try the national dish “Currywurst’’, Russian delicacies, Vietnamese dishes or authentic middle-eastern falafel from the many street vendors. If you’re feeling flush then head to upscale Berlin restaurants Grill Royale and Fischers Fritz which are star-spotting hot spots during the Berlinale! Take in the sun during the summer months and chill out at Beach Bar on the River Spree, picnic in the Tiergarten, or take a refreshing swim in one of the various lakes. For those looking for a slightly quirkier experience test out your vocal cords with Mauer Park’s Karaoke on Sunday afternoons.

GETTING AROUND THE CITY

The city is made up of 12 districts each one with its own distinct personality. Most of our students choose to live in the trendy districts of Kreuzberg and Neukölln. Kreuzberg is Berlin’s most populous district and is a multi-cultural hub of bohemian culture. Bar Raval, a great Spanish “New Wave” bar and restaurant co-owned by actor Daniel Brühl (star of Goodbye Lenin) is a fashionable hangout spot for Kreuzberg locals who want an affordable evening out overlooking Görlitzer Park. Kreuzberg is also home to Würgeengel (the name comes from art-house movie classic “El angel exterminador” by Luis Buñuel, 1962), a colourful and vibrant venue with a lively atmosphere. Neighbouring downtown district Neukölln is home to Berlin’s most unconventional opera house, the Neuköllner Oper, and hosts an array of interesting old building quarters, which gives the area its interesting urban history.

Covering nearly 341 square miles, it would be impossible to explore the whole city by foot. Fortunately, Berlin has one of the most extensive, efficient and affordable transport networks of any European city. The Underground (U-bahn), the overground Schnellbahn (S-bahn) and Ringbahn provide comprehensive access to most parts of Berlin and run through the night on weekends. In addition, there is an extensive network of trams and buses including the number 100 and 200 buses which offer a cheap alternative to a sight-seeing tour as they take in most of Berlin’s major tourist attractions. Taxis are also easy to find and not too expensive. Berlin is littered with taxi ranks and there is even an app to hail one too! (TaxiBerlin) For people looking to explore areas slightly further afield, the state-of-the-art and architecturally stunning Hauptbahnhof provides access to Germany’s world-class network of national and international train lines. And getting to and from Berlin by plane couldn’t be easier with two international airports Tegel, located very close to the city centre and Schönefeld just south of the city - and a further brand-new airport, Brandenberg airport due to open soon (though perhaps best not to ask a local when this will be!)

BERLIN’S EVER-CHANGING ARCHITECTURE

From the imposing Brandenburg Gate, to the iconic Berlin Wall, Berlin boasts some of the world’s finest architecture clustered around the River Spree. The Berlin Wall is one of the most political works of architecture of all time and you can still visit the remaining parts of it to experience Berlin’s rich history. Buildings are not just buildings here; they are pieces of propaganda, memorials, and art forms in their own right. Separating the Eastern and Western blocks of Berlin (and, at the time, the rest of Europe), the Wall symbolized the conflicting ideologies of Nazism and Communism. The two halves of the city, separated for decades, were physically reunited in 1989. Both the Memorial site and the East Side Gallery (an open-air exhibition of art painted directly onto the last existing portions of the Berlin Wall) are popular tourist destinations, bringing history and contemporary culture together which is the very ethos of the city. Berlin’s TV Tower - the Fernsehturm - was also a symbol of the communist regime, and is one of the largest structures in Europe. Built in the 1960’s, visitors can now get a 360° view of the city from 204m up, or take a “sightseeing tour” in the revolving restaurant. In recent years Berlin’s construction boom has encouraged modern architects to manipulate its landscape and, as a result, buildings are noted for their originality rather than their antiquity.

BERLIN’S VIBRANT ART SCENE

Modernism is apparent where you would least expect it! The government district is extremely impressive with its new Reichstag dome redesigned by Lord Norman Foster and The German Chancellery building (or, as it is known locally, the Washing Machine building, because of the roundshaped windows and its cubic form) designed by award-wining architect Charlotte Frank. Examples of Berlin’s more traditional architecture can be found on the breathtaking Museum Island in the River Spree, which houses five museums built from 1830 to 1930 and is a celebrated World Heritage site. Also located on this island is the Berlin Cathedral, emperor William II’s ambitious attempt to create a Protestant counterpart to St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Berliners are also not afraid of regenerating important pieces of historical architecture, as proven by The Bellevue Palace – the official residence of the Federal President. Located in the midst of the Tiergarten, the palace’s interior was repeatedly transformed in the course of many conversions due to a turbulent past: It was once the summer residence for Prince Ferdinand of Prussia but damaged in May 1945, at the end of the Second World War, and refurbished substantially in the 1950s and then again in 2005 to become the primary residence of the President of Germany.

During the 1920’s, Berlin experienced a cultural and artistic boom to rival its European counterparts. Bursting with creative energy and decadence, it was a hub for anything new and modern, drawing giants of architecture (including Bruno Taut, Martin Wagner, Hans Scharoun and Walter Gropius), fine arts (George Grosz, Max Beckmann and Lovis Corinth) and literature (Bertolt Brecht, Kurt Tucholsky, W.H Auden and Christopher Isherwood) to the city. Fast-forward to Berlin now, and it’s still a city of freedom and creativity. The Wall has fallen and, along with it, barriers of self-expressionism. Galleries and exhibition spaces appear in the most unexpected places, adding to the vibrancy and unpredictable nature of the Berlin art scene. In Berlin, art galleries are everywhere! Art gallery hopping is a great way to experience the culture and visual history of Berlin whilst perhaps discovering the next big thing. The Berlinische Galerie offers a steady flow of new artists exhibiting their work in this former glass warehouse, with previous shows including a retrospective of the Berlin-born Arno Fischer. With plenty of light and crisscrossing staircases, it’s a much sought after exhibition space and a popular tourist destination as their permanent collection includes work from the Berlin Dada era and the German Expressionists.

Another Gallery of note is the Temporare Kunsthalle, which boasts a great collection of contemporary artwork and has an outdoor exhibition space for projections and events. The third Strychnin Gallery is also located in Berlin (the other two are located in New York and London) and is home to an eclectic mix of painting, photography and sculpture. The Berlin art scene is very active and extensive and there are always a number of pop-up exhibitions and alternative galleries to discover. Berlin is also home to notable museums, including those situated on Museum Island, an important destination for all new Berliners! Museum Island is a unique ensemble of five museums, including the Pergamon Museum and the Alte Nationalgalerie. The city is the spiritual home of the Bauhaus movement, arguably the most influential school of architecture, design and art in the 20th century. Its Archive – or Museum of Design – houses a sensational collection of work from artists who fled Germany during the Nazi’s rise to power to spread their influence in Modernism across the world. The Jewish Museum is also an integral part of the city, as Berlin was one of the largest Jewish cities in the world before the events of WWII. Here the museum explores the entire history of the German Jewish community and offers child-friendly tours, workshops and even musical events.

Met Film School London opened it’s doors to budding filmmakers ten years ago, establishing the school as London’s leading provider of practical filmmaking courses. We’re part of the Met Film Group consisting of the school, Met Film Production and Met Film Post. This enterprise allows us to make films, teach people the skills that they need to make films and offer postproduction services to filmmakers, keeping us completely integrated within the Film Industry.

London has been the backdrop to an enormous range of films, from the Swinging streets of Alfie to the contemporary Harry Potter movies. When Film London was set up in 2004, filming in the capital rose by 30% making the city the third busiest filming production centre in the world, with over thirty crews shooting on its streets every day. Producers are now choosing to have their films made in the city due to the world-class facilities on offer. It has never been more exciting to study filmmaking in London.

Our London school follows the exact same ethos as our Berlin school- on most of our courses students will write, produce, direct and edit their own short films and fully engage with the art of collaborative filmmaking. Our tutors are all working industry professionals from the world of the UK film and television industry and beyond. Met Film School offers a wide range of filmmaking courses including undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In addition, it offers just under 40 short and part-time courses spanning directing, cinematography, screenwriting, producing and postproduction for adults and young people alike.

Met Film School London is the only film school in the UK that’s based within a working film studio. West London’s Ealing Studios has a rich and important history and is the oldest continually operating studio in the world. Making films since 1902, it is perhaps best known for it’s Ealing Comedies of the 1940s and 1950s, including The Ladykillers and The Lavendar Hill Mob. In recent years Ealing Studios have been used for high-profile productions such as Downton Abbey, Nowhere Boy, My Week with Marilyn, Prince of Persia, The Iron Lady, Burke and Hare, Star Wars: Episode Two, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, The Importance of Being Earnest, Notting Hill, St. Trinian’s, and Woody Allen’s Wasp. We’re not just a film school; we’re part of an enterprise that makes films, teaches people the skills needed to make films and offers postproduction services to the industry. In 2011 our production company Met Film Production released award-winning documentary feature Donor Unknown (nominated in 2011 for a Grierson Award) alongside another Met Film Production release, Men Who Swim. In 2010, in the USA and UK we released comedy film The Infidel, written by author and comedian David Baddiel. In 2012 Met Film Production’s Town of Runners, conceived and co-produced by graduate Dan Demissie and postproduced by Met Film Post, opened at the Tribeca Film Festival and was seen by audiences around the world. 2013 saw the UK release of Village at the End of the World and Hip Hop Hoax premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival. We currently have fiction and documentary projects in pre-production.

Director of Photography with nearly 20-years experience working on feature films, TV series, documentaries and various art installations. His cinema credits include Silent Waters, 3 Chinesen mit dem Kontrabass, Ritterinnen and Endstation Sehnsüchte.

Producer credits include Doll, the Fatso and Me, Youth and Petit. His graduate feature film premiered at the Berlinale 2012 and was nominated at the 2012 European Film Awards. He co-runs One Two Films, a successful Berlin based feature film company.

Has worked as a Production Sound Mixer for over 20-years on award winning films The Look - Charlotte Rampling, Work Hard Play Hard, Die Spielwütigen, and well known TV-Movies including Das Traumschiff and Polizeiruf 110.

Is a Documentary Filmmaker and screenwriter whose credits include the BAFTA-nominated and National Television Award winning Who Do You Think You Are?, the EMMY award-winning and BAFTA-nominated People’s Century and the BAFTA awardwinning Trouble at the Top.

Is an American-born WriterDirector based in Berlin. His feature documentaries include Heaven on Earth (FIPA d’Or), Homemade Hillbilly Jam (Hot Docs, True/False, Sheffield Doc/Fest), and Forgetting Dad (Special Jury Award, IDFA).

Hal is an American Writer working in television, film and theatre. Hal’s one-hour legal drama pilot, Mouthpiece, was optioned by Fox Television Studios and his screenplay for The Lake Effect, a one-hour drama pilot for Showtime, was developed with Emmy-winning director, Scott Winant.

Is a Composer for film and television from the UK. He won the VW Score Prize at the Berlin Film Festival 2006. His credits include the BAFTA-winning documentary Mummifying Alan and the major BBC Television series WW2 – Behind Closed Doors.

Writes and Directs for film and television in the UK as well as in Germany. His work has won awards from the Royal Television Society, the Kino Film Festival Manchester, and others. Jan’s screenplay for Stray Dogs was nominated for the German Scriptwriting Award 2008/9.

Is a Director of commercials, pop-promos and drama working out of London and Berlin. Prizes include the Diamond Award at the California Film Awards and Best Music Video at Los Angeles Film Festival of Hollywood.

Is an award-winning Director working in television and films. Her directing credits include Big Girls Don’t Cry and the Emmy-winning Sterntaler. Her writing credits include Hilde and most recently Hector and the Search for Happiness directed by Peter Chelsom and starring Simon Pegg, Rosamund Pike and Toni Collette.

Has over 20-years experience as a Documentary Director, Producer, Editor and composer. His work has won awards at film festivals throughout Europe.

OUR LOCATION

BUFA Created in 1917, UFA was a government-owned producer of propaganda films. UFA’s studios (Babelsberg and the now-called BUFA) were considered to be the most modern in the world. The studios employed important directors, such as Ernst Lubitsch, famous for directing sophisticated comedies, and G.W. Pabst, a pioneer in the expressive use of camera position and editing techniques. The appetite for films was huge and UFA productions expanded from the political to the more creative. UFA was key to the German Expressionist movement, funding works by acclaimed directors such as Fritz Lang and F.W. Murnau. With the move away from silent movies, UFA literally built a roof on their previously glassed-top studios and launched into a new era of filming. One of the many films they produced was Marlene Dietrich’s first “talkie” The Blue Angel (1930). Challenging the power of Hollywood, UFA made films for the European market in German, French and English.

Today, BUFA is an active film studio whose stages offer a wealth of filming experiences – greenscreen, live-TV studio set up, a standing set used for TV production and a large stage for commercial use. The studio is home to various industryrelevant companies including inhouse production companies, a camera / lighting rental house, a film & TV prop house, a scenery and set construction company and post-production facilities. Being in close proximity to the industry offers our students access to the professional world of filmmaking. The studio is based near the trendy Neukölln/Kreuzberg area of Berlin. BA (HONS) PRACTICAL FILMMAKING Two-Year BA (Hons) Practical Filmmaking is designed for those who are looking for an intensive academic experience. You will gain a comprehensive range of production skills that focus on creative development, writing, directing, producing, editing and professional industry practice. In addition, you will develop a critical awareness of film history, movements, genres and contemporary styles. The BA Programme offers specialist modules in practical filmmaking and students will go on to complete an individual graduation project. On completion students will be awarded with a degree qualification in Practical Filmmaking. PRODUCTION EXPERIENCE Over the course of two years you will make six original films, including a collaborative feature film project. One-Year Practical Filmmaking (Cert HE) is an intensive and highly practical course aimed at those dedicated to pursuing a career in film. By the end of the course you will have written, produced, directed and edited three short films and numerous exercises, the last of which will be your graduation film made over a threemonth period. In addition to these practical examples of your work, you will understand and be proficient in directing actors, producing, screenwriting, editing, camera operation and sound recording. The Practical Filmmaking Diploma includes all the areas covered by students on the One-Year Practical Filmmaking course and further develops your skillset over an additional four-month period. Our Six-Month Practical Filmmaking programme has been created for people looking for an intensive and practical immersion in the craft and technique of filmmaking. The programme is specifically designed to give you the essential tools to be a professional filmmaker and a solid foundation in the key elements of filmmaking, from story to screen. Taught by industry professionals, Six-Month Practical Filmmaking will provide you with a showreel of your work, and the confidence to launch your career in the film industry.

Our Six-Month Screenwriting programme is designed for those seeking an immersion in the art of screenwriting. The course aims to provide you with the tools you need to work as a professional screenwriter.

The 25-week programme consists of three terms. During Terms 1 and 2, you will be trained in all key aspects of filmmaking through a combination of intensive practical workshops and a series of filmmaking exercises, escalating in scale as you go through the programme. Following the learning from the foundation programme in Term 1, you will learn advanced skills in screenwriting; cinematography and sound; fiction directing and producing; documentary production; editing and postproduction during Term 2. In Term 3, you will make your own film and perform key roles on set on other students’ films.

ACTING FOR FILM

From Story to Screen in Eight Weeks is our longest running course and is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in filmmaking. This programme will provide you with practical experience in all of the key areas of filmmaking and culminates in the production of your own short film. It covers the essential craft areas of screenwriting, use of camera and sound, casting and directing actors, editing and script development. This is an intensive programme on which you will write, direct and edit your own film and is ideal for those considering a change in career.

Most documentary filmmakers these days are expected to be both self-shooters and selfeditors. As a result, we will train you to use professional digital cameras and to edit on professional software. With the guidance of an experienced documentary filmmaker you will have the unique opportunity to research, write, produce and direct your own short film. You will review the history of the documentary and analyse examples of successful films in the marketplace today.

Four-Week Directing covers a comprehensive range of filmmaking skills, allowing you to explore the processes of visual storytelling whilst working with actors, interpreting scripts, devising narrative storylines and developing your understanding of the technical aspects of film production. You will cover cinematography and editing and will focus on improving your directing skills, equipping you with an independent approach to filmmaking.

Acting for Film is our screen acting course and has been developed for people who are serious about becoming a film actor, or wish to develop existing acting skills for the medium of film, though no previous experience is required. Taught by an acting coach and professional film director, you will act in numerous filmed exercises that will be analysed in class so that you can learn from your mistakes and improve your performances as the course progresses. You will also learn what it’s like to be on the other side of the camera by directing and acting as crew (operating the camera and recording sound) on a number of short exercises.

YOUNG FILMMAKERS’ ACADEMY If you’re between 14 and 17 years old and are passionate about filmmaking then this course has been designed especially for you. Try your hand at a variety of different roles, from directing to editing and everything in between. This unique course has been developed for those who wish to forge a career as a film producer, or who wish to gain an understanding of the film business. You may have a feature film project in mind that you would like to develop. Or perhaps you have transferable business skills that you would like to apply to a filmmaking context. On this comprehensive course you will learn how films are created, financed and sold. In addition, you will gain valuable practical experience by developing your own feature film projects. In one-to-one sessions with the instructor, you will budget, schedule and package a feature film and come up with marketing strategies for your project.

This is a perfect course for anyone wanting to get a first taste of filmmaking. Combining workshop and group instruction, this course has been designed to provide a fun, handson introduction to the basics of directing, sound and editing and will equip you with basic technical knowledge in each area. You will direct professional actors as part of the production of a short film, which will subsequently be sent to you on DVD.

This course has been designed for creative individuals who have a great idea for a film but don’t know where to begin. This two-day practical introduction is run by industry professionals. You will leave with an understanding of the basic principles involved with writing a screenplay, get professional feedback on your current projects and the motivation to start your script.

This is a great taster course for those who are new to acting as well as those with some theatre experience looking to brush up on their skills in front of the camera. You will take part in short, filmed scenes and will receive feedback to help make your performance in front of the camera as relaxed and natural as possible. You will be taught by a professional acting coach who will introduce you to the basic differences between acting for screen and acting on stage, whilst giving you an insight into what goes on behind the camera.

Music videos are a great way to access the film industry, and provide you with a creative calling card for future work. Although budgets for music videos are somewhat ‘challenging’, the onset of digital filmmaking has enabled directors to achieve great filmic looks with the right know-how. Our Make a Music Video weekend course will provide you with the essential knowledge and skills to devise and shoot an effective music video.
