AG: Man copied data, coded fake T passes Fakes. A Medford man is accused of stealing from the MBTA with forged tickets. Transit officials said they will keep a closer eye on fare transactions after a Medford man’s alleged counterfeit scheme drained the MBTA of $200,000 in revenue. Casey Kolenda, 27, appeared in Somerville District Court on Tuesday to face five counts of counterfeiting a value of more than $10,000 for allegedly manufacturing and selling forged tickets between October and March. MBTA Spokesman Joe Pesaturo said the T has the capa-

bility to block the use of any CharlieTicket at any moment, but “out of an abundance of caution, the MBTA will increase its monitoring of transactions at fare gates and fare boxes.” This is the only counterfeiting case since CharlieTickets went into use in 2005, Pesaturo said. Less than 25 percent of customers use the tickets. Investigators believe the electronic data stored on Link Pass magnetic strips was copied using a magnetic strip reader, also known as a “skimmer,” according to Attorney General Martha Coakley. That data was then allegedly downloaded onto the magnetic strips of hundreds of MBTA stored-value cards that were purchased for as little as

five cents at ticket kiosks. Authorities claim Kolenda then disguised the forged passes by applying contact paper that bore the production history of the original Link Pass, as well as the MBTA’s trademarked “T” logo. Similar in appearance and encoded with the electronic data copied from the Link Pass, the counterfeit cards could be used at any fare gate in the same manner as the

original pass, authorities said. The fakes were allegedly distributed and used regularly by MBTA riders, sometimes more than 15,000 times per month. Detectives arrested Kolenda without incident Monday at his Medford home, where the counterfeits were allegedly manufactured. “Our honest, fare-paying customers deserve and expect our full attention to this type of illegal activity,” said MBTA Transit Police Chief Paul MacMillan. “Let this serve as a warning to anybody else who thinks they can perpetrate such fraud.” MORGAN ROUSSEAU @MetroMorgan

T officials tracked transactions T authorities said every transaction at a farebox, gate and fare vending machine is recorded to a central database that Transit Police and authorized MBTA personnel can use to report suspicious activity and ultimately block fraudulent use. The practice was used on the tickets identified as part of the recent counterfeit investigation. A spokesman said a revenue analyst in the MBTA treasurer’s office will conduct regular checks to look for any unusual trends or patterns, and will also meet monthly with the T’s chief technology officer and chief financial officer. Out of an “abundance of caution,” transit officials will also increase its monitoring of transactions at fare gates and fare boxes. METRO

Defamation. Marathon victim sues conservative radio host for slander A 20-year-old student who was injured during the blasts at the Boston Marathon last year has filed a lawsuit against conservative commentator Glenn Beck alleging defamation and slander. Lawyers for Abdulrahman Alharbi of Revere filed the lawsuit in federal court in Boston on Friday. It seeks unspecified damages for the allegations of defamation and defamation with malice, but does state that the amount involved would exceed $75,000. Alharbi argues in the lawsuit that he “like many others,” was questioned by federal authorities investigating the April 15 bombings. They also, with his permission, searched his apartment. “The responsible officials quickly concluded that Mr. Alharbi, other than being injured in the attacks, had no involvement in the attacks,” the lawsuit said. The lawsuit goes on to say that many media outlets reported the questioning of a man of Middle Eastern descent, but those reports stopped when the man was cleared. But Beck, the lawsuit argues, “repeatedly and falsely identified Mr. Alharbi

New food truck season rolls into Boston Hub grub blogger Steven Leibowitz marked the highly anticipated launch of the fourth food truck season Tuesday by trekking to some of the city’s hottest mobile food havens, including Dewey Square, the Financial District and City Hall Plaza. “I saw a lot of enthusiasm for new and returning food trucks all over Boston today. Hopefully, that enthusiasm will translate to growing the program further,” said Leibowitz, who as of Tuesday was just one signature shy of his goal on a Change.org petition asking Boston to

broaden its program. Loyal Bon Me customer Heather Quigley said that although she frequented some trucks through the winter, she is looking forward to more options this spring. “I also love the Chicken and Rice guys. They’re super good. I heard about the new Bacon Truck, and I’m excited for that. As long as the trucks are in the [Dewey Square] area, I’ll try them,” said Quigley, who works nearby. “It’s easy for me, and it’s delicious.” Joining the city’s food truck roster this season are newcomers Chicken and Rice Guys #3, Evan’s NYStyle Deli, Lilian’s Smokin’ Rack BBQ, Mediterranean Home Cooking, Moyzilla,

Obamacare enrollment exceeds 7 million target Politics. Democrats and Republicans are locked in an electionyear battle over the future of Obamacare. President Barack Obama said the enrollment of 7.1 million people for coverage under his signature health care law serves as a rebuke to its critics, including Republicans who repeatedly have tried to repeal it. “The Affordable Care Act hasn’t completely fixed our long-broken health care system, but this law has made our health care system a lot better,” Obama told an audience of administration officials, lawmakers and other supporters in the White House Rose Garden. “The debate over repealing this law is over.” The tally of those who signed up for coverage by the

midnight close of the open enrollment period doesn’t include all figures from 14 separate state exchanges on the final day or people who started the process and weren’t able to finish because of website outages or technical difficulties. The 7 million enrollees matches the initial estimates for insurance sign-ups under the law that were scaled back after technical flaws with the federal website when it went online in October. The Congressional Budget Office in Febru-

ary projected that 6 million people would enroll. Obama said there will be more stumbles and that all the flaws in the health care system haven’t been fixed. He said opponents are criticizing “without offering any plausible alternative.” The law has been under attack by Republicans, who are making dissatisfaction with Obamacare a central part of their congressional campaigns for November’s elections.

Avril fools, has a great fake brawl with Miley

CULTURE

Our favorite online April Fool’s joke came from an unlikely source yesterday: The Instagram

account of Avril Lavigne. In a series of photos and one video, the Canadian singer argued with Miley Cyrus

and got into a full-on brawl. “Oh hey Miley, I’m actually the most famous person in

Canada, Lavigne tells Cyrus, who’s reading about the punk singer. Cyrus, wearing a full-on Rasta onesie with a

cannabis leaf, retorts, “I may not be Canadian, but I’m the most famous person in Canada! Fighting ensues! Talking point

Farrow goes back to Twitter?

Speaking of talk shows, Ronan Farrow, 28, might be looking for a new one. According to The Daily News, his new talk show is reportedly facing cancellation amid poor ratings. A “source told the paper the obvious: “Just because someone is a boy genius-turned-Twitter star doesn’t mean they deserve their own TV show.

The gossip behind Elliott’s exit from ABC Is this the last week Josh Elliott will co-anchor “Good Morning America? It was announced on Sunday in a rare internal memo that after weeks of intense negotiations, Elliott will be leaving the top-rated morning show to go to NBC Sports. The scuttlebutt is that Elliot was looking for big bucks — he wanted to take his salary up to around $8 to $10 million from his yearly paycheck of $1 million. ABC was offering him around $5 million, according to reports.

According to TMZ, he was so “disgusted by the offer (anchor Robin Roberts reportedly pulls in around $14 million) that he decided to take a $2 million cut to go to NBC Sports, who reportedly is only paying him around $3 million. Yes, we said “only. Poor Josh Elliott. “We have been negotiating with Josh these past several months. In good faith, we worked hard to close a significant gap between our generous offer and his expectations, said Ben Sherwood, the

president of ABC News, in a statement. “In the end, Josh felt he deserved a different deal and so he chose a new path. Amy Robach, who recently underwent a double mastectomy and chemo after being diagnosed with breast cancer, will replace Elliott. If you are to believe TMZ. com, ABC is pretty happy with the new setup. “He’s definitely an abrasive guy, a source told the site about Elliot, with another one stating, “People hated him. He was always just rude.

TELEVISION & FILM Charlotte Gainsbourg is the daughter of musician Serge Gainsbourg, with whom she recorded the hit single “Lemon Incest” when she was 13. Lars Von Trier has nothing on him. The actress has starred in all three parts of the director’s “Depression Trilogy,” including “Antichrist,” “Melancholia” and the new “Nymphomaniac,” whose second volume comes out Friday. Though she spends most of the film talking in a room with Stellan Skarsgard’s recluse — and Stacy Martin handles the younger scenes — she still had to do some of the film’s notorious (though sanitized) rough stuff. You had already done two films with Von Trier before this. Were you even shocked when he asked you to do his sex film? He told me, in his provocative way, “It’s a porn film, but you’ve never talked as much as you’ll talk in my next film.” That was the whole summary of the film. He said, “I want the two actors I love the most to be those two characters.” So I’m very flattered to be part of his “family troupe.” Was any part of you reluctant? I was nervous because of the subject, because of the extremeness of it. But I admire [Von Trier] too much to be too cautious. Just before the film started I was losing someone very dear to me, so I said to Lars, “I can’t do your film.” It was one week before it started. And he said, “You can’t do

8

this to me.” And then he was so sweet, because he knew how much it was costing me. He was holding my hand throughout the shoot and he was generous and it was very sweet. Stacy Martin gets the bulk of the heavy stuff in “Volume I,” but you take over in “Volume II,” when things get bad for your character, Joe. What was that like? The masochistic part was the most intense for me because it was humiliating — but at the same time exhilarating. That was puzzling for me, to want to be there but at the same time feel so embarrassed. He does put you in bad positions, but he’s accompanying you and he’s not just observing and making you do stuff and enjoying himself. He’s there with you. Sometimes I felt that if I were suffering or going through something painful he was experiencing it with me. Some of it looks pretty unpleasant. It’s just a film. Of course it’s so intense and you believe you’re there, in a bad state that lasts for a few minutes. That’s why I enjoy it so much. There is a little masochism on my part, I’m sure. I think every actor has it more or less. I’ve done a comedy and I thought, “What a pleasure, to just have fun.” In every film when you have to go through emotional scenes it’s suffering. It’s part of the deal. MATT PRIGGE @mattprigge

CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG The “Nymphomaniac” star swears Lars Von Trier is a nice guy.

THE ROUGH STUFF Q&A: Just talk

Charlotte Gainsbourg plays a sex addict in Lars Von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac.” For more on the “Nymphomaniac” saga, blipp here. / GETTY IMAGES

Was getting to the present day scenes, where you’re just talking to Skarsgard, a relief? Once I had done all the action stuff I thought, “I’ve done the hardest part, now it’s going to be talk, talk.” But the talking part was the most difficult. We couldn’t use [Von Trier’s] usual method. We couldn’t shoot in the way he usually shoots

[his films], going in all kinds of directions and exploring the dialogue and putting our words into it. We had to get information in, we had to use his words, and it had to be very specific. [Von Trier] also had a hard time with it.

Was it strange essentially doing an entire other movie with just one other actor in

a room? [Skarsgard] was the most wonderful companion to have this complicity with. We were really on the same wavelength and the same difficulties of, very stupidly, remembering lines. It was like being in school — just memorizing. By the end I had the words under the covers trying to hide them everywhere.

In his apartment, Santos skipped a dining table for a great bar cart and lots of seating. “I don’t sit down and eat dinner,” he says. “I go out or I have people over for cocktails.”

Creating a Pinterest-worthy home takes work. There’s reclaimed wood to source, a gallery wall to hang, bar carts to obsess over — if only you had an interior designer best friend to help analyze paint swatches and light fixtures. Thanks to HomePolish, guidance from an expert is now within reach. The startup connects style-conscious renovators with young, talented interior designers — most from top design firms — without the extraordinary price tag usually associated with the service. Here’s how: The process starts with a $50, at-home

consultation with a designer that matches the client’s style. During the one-hour meeting, the designer provides tips and ideas. Then, it’s up to the client to decide whether or not to sign up for additional services, which go for a flat hourly rate of either $100 or $130. “The idea of HomePolish is that everyone needs to have access to a designer — even if you only have $50,” says co-founder Noa Santos, who is also an interior designer. “During the first consult, we want to make sure that our designers give people as much information as possible, so that if they can’t afford working with them, they can go do it themselves.” Santos tells us more about his business — and throws in some complimentary, mustfollow tips. Why invest in a designer?

Bonus question

Who is the HomePolish client? “They’re the savvy client who’s not afraid to invest in a home, but also doesn’t want to be taken for a ride. Our demographic is typically late 20s to late 40s, people who are ready to take the next step from having a home that is just a hodgepodge of furniture. Something that is particularly exciting is that a good chunk of our clients are actually renters.”

Need-to-know. Four facts about Joseph Altuzarra, the new face of fashion

Joseph Altuzarra’s designs are downright sizzling, so it’s a little funny to find out that he started his label for ‌ his mom. “I was witnessing through my mother that women in their 50s and 60s still want to be seductive and sexy,â€? he says. Here, a few more surprises:

He took ballet for nine years Altuzarra studied dance from the time he was 5 until he turned 14 and credits it with sparking his interest in clothing. “Backstage, there was a piece of tulle lying on the ground, and I took it with me. I still have it in a scrapbook somewhere.

You spend so much time in your home, it’s a place you want to be happy. It’s a place where you want to have that spot to curl up with a glass of wine. It’s a place that you want to be proud enough to invite friends over to entertain. We see that when people pay close attention to the way they live they become more organized and happier in general. How is HomePolish so aordable? We don’t charge markups or commissions. We don’t want there to be any incentive for a designer to come into your

home and tell you to buy new things so they can make money. If a client can only afford the initial consultation, we’re giving you real advice [during that time]. So if someone signs up and says ‘Hey, I want to pick paint colors’ during the meeting, our designer will come with a paint book. Also, we sell hours in increments of five. Clients like it because if you only can afford 10 hours this month, then maybe you can buy 10 hours next month. TINA CHADHA @TinaatMetro

He was born in Paris but prefers the States “French women can learn from Americans’ ease and pragmatism, he says. “And American women wear a lot more prints. I love that.

He canceled his first appointment with Anna Wintour When he first launched his label, Altuzarra got a rare chance to show his first collection to Anna Wintour. But then an airline lost the suitcase that held his collection. He had to postpone, but met up with the Vogue editor a week later.

Truths about running

Train. Inspired to get moving this spring? Here’s what to know.

Brooks Transcend DR. VIJAY VAD

If you’re thinking this is the year you take up running, don’t let fear stop you: “I think there are a lot of misconceptions,” says Dr. Vijay Vad, the author of “The New Rules of Running.” “Excessive running can be pretty bad for your joints, but moderate running is actually good for you.” Vad collaborated with two-time NYC marathon champ Tom Fleming to come up with rules that all runners — beginners and elites — need to know. Speed is strength in disguise If you train at a pace that you can easily maintain for a stretch of time, you increase your fitness level and, therefore, your ability to go faster. “I never talk about speed,” Fleming says of his first days coaching a new athlete. “I might talk about endurance and progression. [Speed] eventually comes gradually through you building confidence in yourself.” Dr. Vad adds that if it’s your first race — be it a 5K or your first marathon — you shouldn’t even focus on the clock. “You should be in it just to finish it,” he says.

You must learn to endure Fleming says training your body to be on its feet for longer stretches of time can help you get ready for races, especially long-distance ones, because they improve your aerobic capacity (the amount of oxygen you can use in one minute). He recommends “a consistent, gradual increase of total long run workouts over a period of four to six months.”

Hydrating and eating properly stimulate recovery “Hydration and nutrition really improve your performance and enhance recovery,” says Dr. Vad. So what’s best? Hydrating before, after and even during your workout. And don’t wait until you’re already thirsty; that means you’re already dehydrated. About 30 minutes after you finish running, go

Mizuno and the University of North Carolina teamed up for a study to explore the question: What if everybody ran? They found that running could have big effects at a macro-level: There’d be 115,600,000 fewer weekly hours watching TV, 48,081,000 fewer cigarettes smoked daily and a $47,212,387,500 increase in GDP. for a mix of protein and carbs. Fleming likes pretzels and peanut butter, or straight-up chocolate milk. The night before a race, don’t go crazy on the carbs, the duo says. You don’t want to overdo it.

Rest is essential for recovery and improved performance The No. 1 mistake newbie run-

ners make, the authors say, is overdoing it — that’s how you get injured. But rest is not just about days off. Adequate rest also means sleeping enough to rebuild the muscle fibers that tear when you run (that rebuilding is what makes you stronger and faster). “You need deep, REM sleep for repair,” Dr. Vad says. Implantable Contact Lens - New England Eye Center is among a select group of practices in the country offering patients the benefits of the Visian Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL). Unlike LASIK, the Visian corrects vision by inserting a delicate intraocular lenslike device atop the eye’s natural lens, which is why the Visian is also referred to as the ‘Implantable Contact Lens.’ All of the refractive surgeons at New England Eye Center are qualified and experienced in performing this brief outpatient procedure to insert the Visian ICL. Because no corneal or other tissue is removed in the Visian ICL procedure, visual recovery is extremely rapid and the ICL can potentially be replaced if the eye’s focus changes over time.

Dental Fillings: White or Silver? By Dr. Alberto Sarmiento For more than two decades, there has been much debate about white (i.e., tooth-colored) dental fillings versus silver-colored fillings. Used to “fill” dental cavities (i.e., tooth decay or holes in your teeth), fillings also are used to repair cracked, broken or worn-down teeth.

HEALTH GUIDE

14

Want the Best for Your Teeth & Smile?

Silver Fillings Used for more than 150 years, silver-colored “amalgam” fillings are made of a combination of mercury and a mixture of silver, tin, copper and zinc. Silver fillings last longer (at least 10 to 15 years) and are less expensive than tooth-colored composite fillings. However, silver fillings are less attractive because they don’t blend in with the color of your natural teeth. Healthy parts of your tooth must often be removed to make a space large enough to hold the silver filling. In addition, some people are allergic to the mercury in silver fillings.

A Full-Service Faculty Practice Offering Leading-Edge Dental Care

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the American Dental Association, silver-colored fillings are safe to use in dentistry; however, many people are changing their old silver fillings for tooth-colored composite fillings because they can be a perfect color match to teeth and do not contain mercury. White/Tooth-Colored Fillings Tooth-colored “composite” fillings are a mixture of plastic and fine glass particles. They can be closely matched to the color of your teeth, and they chemically bond to your teeth, making your teeth stronger than they would be with silver fillings. Tooth-colored composite material can be used as a filling material and to repair chipped, broken or worn teeth. The downside of tooth-colored fillings are that they do not last as long and may need to be replaced every 6 years or so (although they are improving in strength and longevity). The cost of tooth-colored fillings can be a little higher than conventional silver fillings.

Examples of Fillings

Silver Fillings

White/Tooth-Colored Fillings

Which Type of Filling Is Better? To answer this question, many factors need to be evaluated, including the location and extent of your tooth decay, your remaining tooth structure, how frequently and well you brush and floss your teeth, and finally, your insurance coverage and budget. Tooth-colored composite fillings are more popular nowadays, and patients are more interested in replacing old fillings with new white composite fillings that are equally efficient and more esthetically pleasing. Sox like the old and new, but not much in between Red Sox. Boston’s 25man roster is made up of 17 oldies and a few newbies.

SPORTS A Will and a way

Pats eye DE Smith

The Patriots are hosting free agent defensive end Will Smith, according to ESPN. Smith missed all of 2013 with a torn ACL. The 32-year-old was a Pro Bowler in 2006 and posted 13 sacks in 2009. Last season was the only time he missed more than two games in a season.

Boston blend

The Red Sox prefer a roster with players in their mid-to-late 30s and a handful of promising stars. •

Boston is one of only four teams in MLB this season with a player 21 years old or younger (Xander Bogaerts) and one of only 13 teams with a player 38 years old or older (David Ortiz).

With 17 elder statesmen, the Red Sox have a median age of 30.4 — which is the second oldest mark in the Majors behind the Yankees at 31.2.

The Red Sox will play their second game of the 2014 season Wednesday in Baltimore, with John Lackey facing Ubaldo Jimenez (7 p.m. NESN).

“Way before Nirvana, there was U2 and Blondie and music still on MTV. Her two kids in high school, they tell her that she’s uncool … ’Cause she’s still preoccupied with 19, 19, 1985.”

Feeling a little “off”?

It appears that Red Sox GM Ben Cherington, much like the majority of Americans, was not a fan of Bowling for Soup’s notquite-a-cult hit song, “1985.” On Boston’s roster, only poor lefty Andrew Miller represents “The 8-5.” Were Miller born a couple of years earlier or later, he might very well be a Cherington favorite. Cherington seemingly loves those born in Ronald Reagan’s first term, as 17 members of Boston’s current 25-man roster were born before Jan. 1, 1985. He also has a thing for players who are 26 years old and younger, as Xander Bogaerts, Will Middlebrooks, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Brandon Workman make up Boston’s youthful foundation. It’s a land of extremes on

Fits like a glove

“When we have been really good [as an organization] we have found the right veteran players.” Red Sox GM Ben Cherington, to the Boston Globe in 2012

Yawkey Way, it seems, as Cherington has constructed a team which is stocked with players 30 and older, all while supplementing it will a handful of promising young-ins. “When we have been really good we have found the right veteran players,’’ Cherington told the Boston Globe in 2012. “Guys who have fit Boston and fit what we are trying to do at the major league level, and we have been able to integrate the right young players in with them to create a team, and played together as a team.” It makes sense that the Red Sox are steering clear of players in their late 20s and early 30s. They were burned by signing a 29-year-old Carl Crawford in 2010 and, to a lesser extent, a 31-year-old John Lackey in 2010. Generally, players in the 28-to-30-year-old range are seeking the biggest paydays of their careers and Boston is now avoiding those type of players like the plague. So, if you’re considered “middle-aged” in baseball circles, you’re likely not calling Boston home anytime soon. MATT BURKE @BurkeMetroBos

It may be low testosterone - and you have options. Tired? Low sex drive? Losing muscle tone? Maybe even a bit depressed? It may be more than just age. It could be low testosterone or Low T. Although millions of men suffer from Low T, very few know they even have it - or that they can do something about it. Right now, doctors at Men’s Health Boston are conducting a research study of an investigational medication for low testosterone. If you participate, you will receive study medication and all study-related care at no cost. You may also be compensated for your time and travel.

Spurs (58-16) Make it 18 straight wins for this dynasty and annual powerhouse. Every freakin’ year they ďŹ nd themselves at the top of the Western Conference standings and after a blowout win in Indiana on Monday, it looks like that’ll be the case again when the regular season wraps up at the end of this month. Tony Parker had 22 points in the big victory over the Pacers while Boris Diaw and Patty Mills came o the bench to lift San Antonio.

Pacers (52-23)

Blazers (48-27)

What’s the best way to watch the only team in front of you in the standings lose? By beating yourself. The Thunder can do just that to the Spurs on Thursday.

The Heat are back in the position they’ve grown so fond of over the last three seasons, the top of the East. They’ve got six of their ďŹ nal nine games at home, too.

The Pacers woke up Tuesday morning to ďŹ nd themselves in second place in the Eastern Conference behind the Heat. Sorry guys, it’s not an April Fools’ joke.

LaMarcus Aldridge returned to the court three games ago with the Blazers struggling after a three-game losing streak. Since he’s returned they’ve won three in a row.

Tiger Woods will miss the 2014 Masters. / GETTY IMAGES

The biggest name in golf will miss its biggest event. Tiger Woods announced on Twitter Tuesday that he will miss the 2014 Masters after undergoing surgery on a pinched nerve in his back. “Sad to say I’m missing the Masters. Thanks to the fans for so many kind wishes, the message read. Woods has been battling back problems the last few months and pulled out of the Honda Classic in early March in the middle of the fourth round. He played a week later, but aggravated the injury. Bruins forward Iginla named NHL’s First Star

Ohio University head coach Jim Christian is a leading candidate to become the next head men’s basketball coach at BC, according to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman. The report also stated that Florida Gulf Coast head coach Joe Dooley is now in the mix. Syracuse assistant Mike Hopkins and St. Bonaventure’s Mark Schmidt are reportedly no longer candidates. MATT BURKE

Bruins forward Jarome Iginla was named the NHL’s First Star for March as he ripped off 13 goals and four assists in 17 games in the month. “I’ve gotten some good bounces, some great passes from my linemates and as a line we’ve had some fun, Iginla told ESPN. Iginla and the B’s face the Red Wings in Detroit Wednesday (8 p.m., NBCSN). MATT BURKE

Warriors (45-28)

Bulls (42-32)

Whether it’s Blake GriďŹƒn, Jamal Crawford, J.J. Redick or Danny Granger injured, the Clips just can’t stay healthy and are undermanned.

The Rockets are dealing with injuries to Dwight Howard and Patrick Beverley. Beverley’s injury won’t require surgery like initially thought.

It’s crazy to think, but there really is a chance the Warriors could miss the playos if they lose some games down the stretch.

The Bulls are oďŹƒcially the team that nobody in the East wants to play in the postseason. The Pacers need to avoid them in Round 2, somehow.
