Narcissister bares it all for new work Secret. A masked artist brings her erotic work to the Lower East Side. Artist Narcissister might not always wear a top, but she always dons a mask. You might have seen the performance artist and dancer on “America’s Got Talent,” in paparazzi photos with Marilyn Manson or contorting in largerthan-life costumes at the Box, the Lower East Side nightclub. Now, Narcissister is bringing a video installation to Petrella’s Imports on Friday night, a newsstand on Bowery and Canal that has been repurposed into an art space. The piece, which will be projected on a building opposite Petrella’s, will feature clips of women wearing the Narcissister mask and baring their breasts in public, an act that is legal in New York. The artist, who does not disclose her real name or show her face, said she wanted to explore the “cultural psyche” around the body. “There’s this idea that women’s bodies are fundamentally sexual and consequently inappropriate in the public arena,” she explained. The artist said she created the character of Narcissister in 2007. “She’s a plastic mask that lays on the floor of my studio, and when I put it on, I

After she quit dancing to focus on visual art, she discovered she could still utilize her dance background. She started dancing with her mask at burlesque shows before moving onto broader audiences, which included “America’s Got Talent.” “I couldn’t see how
a project that includes strong erotic content could be on their program, but I was finally persuaded and I’m so glad I was,” she said. She admitted, though, that at the end of the day, she is glad she can shed the Narcissister character. “I take a lot of comfort in the fact that Narcissister is separate from me,” she said.

The only $7 million winning lottery ticket for Monday night’s Cash4Life drawing was sold at a Queens 7-Eleven, officials said. As of Wednesday afternoon, the ticket was still unclaimed, according to the New York Lottery. The top prizewinning ticket was bought at a Bayside store on Bell Boulevard. The winning numbers were 5,16, 21, 33, 47 and cash ball 4, lottery officials said. Once the ticket is claimed, the $1,000-aDay-for-Life winner can chose to collect the annuity prize or its predetermined cash value. Lottery officials said they are also looking for the second-prize winner in the June 19 Cash4Life drawing. Worth at least $1 million, that ticket was sold in East Rockaway on Long Island. A new grading system unveiled by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce will finally answer how authentically Brooklyn certain products are. Bronze, silver and gold seals will measure how much Brooklyn plays a part in the process. Only businesses headquartered in Kings County making at least one physical product can apply for the seal. “Brooklyn stands for authentic local craftsmanship, and when you see the ‘Brooklyn Made’ label, you know that’s what you are getting,” chamber President Carlo Scissura said. Passengers at New York City area airports will have access to free — but limited — Wi-Fi service this fall, officials said. Flyers at four area airports, including JFK, LaGuardia and Newark, will get 30 minutes free service from Boingo Wireless as part of a new agreement approved by the Port Authority’s board of commissioners on Wednesday. After the first 30 minutes online, passengers can purchase more Wi-Fi time at hourly, daily or monthly
rates. Currently, service costs $4.95 per hour, $7.95 per day or $9.95 per month at area airports. Port Authority officials said flyers have consistently asked for free Wi-Fi, prompting the new arrangement. The deal also calls for connectivity upgrades and improvements at the airports. The upgrades, which will increase internet speed and better connections, are expected to be completed in the fall. ANNA SANDERS

Google unveiled plans to get Android into the living room. While the company has already introduced software for televisions and the Chromecast dongle for streaming Web content to TVs, more devices will debut later this year featuring Android software, Google said Wednesday. Sony, Sharp, LG and Asustek Computer are among the partners for Android TV. At Wednesday’s event, Google also introduced Android Auto, its bid to get the software into cars. With Andy Brenner, a Google product manager, seated in a car on stage, the company said Android Auto will bring digital tools and media into vehicles, with capabilities for tailored maps. Developers will be able to use a software development kit to create apps for cars, the company said. Some cars will begin including Android Auto by the end of the year. Dutch firm E-Njoint BV has created what they describe as the world’s first “100 percent legal electronic joint.” The high-tech doobie does not contain THC, the active mind-altering component found in cannabis. Instead, it vaporizes natural ingredients propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine into water vapor, available in six flavors. Why did you come up with the E-Njoint? We want to make a statement about Dutchies: We’re not just about sex, drugs and rock ’n’ roll. We’re promoting a product that is innocent and fun; it’s something to enjoy like a waterpipe. What is the point if you don’t get high? Well, being high is one thing and enjoying the E-Njoint is another. You don’t smoke a waterpipe to get high. You smoke a waterpipe to enjoy the flavors and enjoy the smell. Who are you aiming this

“Our biggest advance recently has been the ability to test at home,” Ross says. “The idea that you could walk into a store and test at will is a very powerful tool.” At-home HIV tests, such as OraQuick, which provides results from an oral swab sample in 20 minutes, mean people don’t have to take time off work, the results are private, and they’re as accurate as a blood test in a doctor’s office. “It’s as confidential as you need it to be at that moment, and then you decide who you want to tell after that.” The one caveat with any test is that there is a window after possible exposure when a test may not produce accurate results. “If you’re engaging in risky behavior, then my suggestion is get tested, then get tested again in another 3-6 months,” Ross says.

Prevention. Friday is National HIV Testing Day. The face of new HIV infections is getting younger. “The highest infection rate is in young people between the ages of 25 and 34, followed by 13 to 24,” says Dr. Rachael Ross, a sexologist and co-host of the “The Doctors.” Friday is National HIV Testing Day, and the stats remain sobering. About 50,000 new HIV infections are diagnosed in the U.S. each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control; another 20 percent are unaware of their status. Every person between the ages of 13 and 64 should be tested annually. Many people are confused about even the basics of how it’s contracted —
and it’s not through kissing. “Blood, semen, vaginal secretions and breast milk are the only fluids that the HIV virus can be transmitted in,” Ross says. One problem is that doctors aren’t recommending testing at annual checkups. But many people also don’t think they need to be tested because they’re not engaging in risky behavior, which isn’t limited to multiple partners and injectable drug use. “Risky sexual behavior is really just: Have you had sex without a condom, with somebody that you don’t know their At-risk age group

But learning your status comes with a larger moral — and legal — obligation to society. “From that point on, be very careful about your sexual behavior — you can be criminally charged if you have unprotected sex with someone without telling them your HIV status,” Ross says. Promising research in the field is focused on prevention. Condoms remain a vital barrier to infection, but changing HIV statistics comes down to people educating themselves, Ross says adding: “There’s a lot of stuff coming up on the horizon, but nothing in terms of curing.” EVA KIS @thisiskis eva.kis@metro.us

Butt-numbing cinema In theory, long movies aren’t bad. There are scores of movies that earn their length. Some are giant epics that wow with their majesty. Others use duration to comment on time as it passes, like Andy Warhol’s “Empire” — eight hours of staring at the Empire State Building — or the 157-minute “Zodiac.” But do you really need three hours based on an amusement park 2014
ride — especially if it’s the third of a four-part franchise? Do you really need a rom-com TV spinoff that’s longer than some baseball games? Beware of these too-long movies, which will make you wish you were washing laundry or filing taxes with that valuable time instead.

165 MINUTES Though last year’s “Pain & Gain” was a relatively fleet 129 minutes, most of Michael Bay’s films have hovered around the 150-minute mark — despite being abusively clangy and boasting the attention span of a hypercaffeinated 5-year-old. With the new “Transformers” movie closing in on three hours, that means this quadrilogy — based on a line of toys — now eats up more than 10 hours.
It’s five minutes shorter than: “The Godfather”
It’s seven minutes shorter than: John Cassavetes’ “Husbands”
1963
‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’
133
133 MINUTES Judd Apatow does need spacious room to allow his loose, improv-heavy style to breathe. But he can go too far, especially since this look at middle age lacks a kicky hook (like, say, an unwanted pregnancy with Seth Rogen, as in “Knocked Up”) or even a general center of gravity. For the record, it’s not the first time he’s gone this long: This is the same length as Apatow’s extra-long DVD cut of “The 40-Year-Old Virgin.”
2
‘Sex and the City 2’
146
146 MINUTES We get it: It’s based on a long-running TV show, and fans want a good hang with some old friends. But when the show was good it was because it was fast and zippy. Once the show treated Carrie and gang’s problems seriously, the result was a drippy mess, and one that had no idea that it had turned into leaden and offensive wealth porn. For some reason the sequel has an entire sequence about gawking at shoes.
It’s exactly as long as: “Goodfellas”
168
168 MINUTES What charm the first had was due to the surprise saboteur work of Johnny Depp. The sequels thought we all cared about the story. We didn’t. Some of us probably couldn’t remember that boring Orlando Bloom was actually the protagonist. Only MIT grads could follow the third, which is a massive tangled ball of unfollowable plots.
It’s six minutes shorter than: “The Sound of Music”
‘It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World’
161
161 MINUTES Director Stanley Kramer was riding high after a string of humorless “message movies” like “Inherit the Wind” and “Judgment at Nuremberg.” So he decided to see if the same grandiosity applied to comedy. It didn’t, though this film does have its moments. And it could have been worse: His original cut was four hours, shown only to horrified execs who ordered it hacked to pieces.
It’s 15 minutes shorter than: “Judgment at Nuremberg”
181
181 MINUTES The source of this glacial Brad Pitt drama, 1934’s delightful “Death Takes a Holiday,” runs 79 minutes. That makes this one of the few films to double the length of the source it’s adapting. One could defend this by saying that it wants to suck you into its hypnotic, ghostly mood. You could also say that it’s mood isn’t propping up much substance, like Pitt’s similarly pretty but vacant “Benjamin Button.”
It’s two minutes longer than: “Fiddler on the Roof”

Reasons to see ‘Snowpiercer’ Dystopian thriller. This star-studded South Korean import arrives overseas quietly, receiving a modest release in America. It deserves better. Review ‘Snowpiercer’ Director: Bong Joon-ho Stars: Chris Evans, Song Kang-ho Rating: R
•••••
1
It’s a big movie “Snowpiercer” isn’t a mere specialty foreign release; it’s a mainstream film. Not only that, it’s a big movie with big familiar-to-America stars. Its lead is our current Captain America! Chris Evans plays a young but grizzled man who lives at the back of a train that carries with it the remainder of humanity. It’s 2031, and due to a reckless attempt to stop climate change the world has frozen over. Those who survived live aboard a train plowing around the world in a giant circle, which unfortunately is segmented into class: The rich and bored up front, the downtrodden and near-feral in the back. Evans’ Curtis leads the latest attempt to fight the way to the front.
2
It was a hit everywhere else It’s “only” the 10th
highest-grossing homemade South Korean film in history. No. 1 is the monster movie “The Host,” also by “Snowpiercer” director Bong Joon-ho. Bong is a populist who stays home, as Hollywood would sand his personal, edgy style down to a boring, bland nub. As such, this is an alternate universe blockbuster, albeit one that was famously mistreated by distributor Harvey Weinstein, who nearly released a cut that hacked out 20 minutes. Improbably, sense prevailed.
3
It masterfully mixes tone One thing Hollywood would force Bong to lose is his extremes: He has a very goofy sense of humor, but he also loves to take his films to truly dark places. “Snowpiercer” is a very funny satire, especially as Evans and cast (including John Hurt and Octavia Spencer, plus the always
“Captain America” star Chris Evans (center, between John Hurt and Jamie Bell) plays a downtrodden man fighting his way through a class-divided train in “Snowpiercer.” / RADIUS-TWC Sounding off
It’s genuinely angry
4
Even for a genre film about politics, “Snowpiercer” is more incensed than most. Bong is right there with the poor, who aren’t even poor — they have absolutely nothing outside the meager miseries they’re given (including food blocks whose ingredients, when revealed, will turn your stomach). He ac-
tually lays out class sideways, one section at a time, so that by the time you get to the people lounging in Jacuzzis or clubbing, it’s impossible to avoid the outrage of us — that is, all of us wasting our lives on Internet time-sucks or even watching movies like “Snowpiercer” — living as though the genuinely downtrodden don’t somewhere exist, screaming for help that will never come.
freakishly entertaining Bong regular Song Kang-ho) progress through cars, each one a riotous surprise that often radically changes the color scheme. Tilda Swinton is also on hand to steal the movie as one of the heartless baddies, with giant fake teeth, granny glasses and a hilarious Yorkshire accent. At the same time, it’s fearless and brutal. Nice characters are routinely picked off, as are entertaining evil ones. MATT PRIGGE @mattprigge

The lowdown
David Wain (“The State,” “Wet Hot American Summer”) helms this parody of romantic comedies, with Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd basically re-enacting “You’ve Got Mail.”
The genre’s problems are so glaring they would hardly need lampooning, particularly by someone who should spend his time better. Still, funny’s funny, and the “Airplane”-style laughs
come early and often. The best are loopy, while others go to some wonderfully awkward dark places, even if none of it reaches the insane high of “Wet Hot American Summer”’s beloved day trip sequence. MATT PRIGGE

John Carney, the filmmaker of “Once,” returns to the “stealth musical” genre, this time in New York City, with Mark Ruffalo as an A&R guy making a new(ish) kind of album with Keira Knightley. The film addresses some tough questions about the collapsing music biz, but it repeatedly deflates into calming movie lies. Even Ruffalo’s uneasy performance can’t temper the sometimes toxic earnestness.
‘Yves Saint Laurent’ The first of two new films on the fashion titan, this is the one that takes the boring biopic approach, portraying him as your routine budding genius who finds his groove, finds drugs then finds redemption before the end credits. Saint Laurent changed the world; the film just follows procedure.

Mookie turns 25 Anniversary. Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing” rings in a quarter of a century with a special screening. On June 30, 1989, Rosie Perez first graced American screens dancing furiously to Public Enemy, Radio Raheem blasted his boom box and Buggin’ Out got his Air Jordans scuffed up by Bed-Stuy’s first sign of gentrification. Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing” turns 25 on Monday, and the day before, Brooklyn’s BAM’s Harvey Rose Theater — with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences — will hold two anniversary screenings. The 5 p.m. one (sold out) will be followed by a discussion with Lee, Perez, Danny Aiello and others. Bill Nunn, who played Radio Raheem, remembers that, to him, it didn’t seem like it would be a big deal. “I was just looking at it as a gig,” Nunn recalls. He did see it as important from a filmmaking perspective. “Twenty-five years ago, there weren’t a lot of projects for black actors

or black filmmakers. We thought it was important along those lines.” Controversy loomed over the film when it opened, but most of the discussions it raised needed raising. It remains a searing look at race, at urban life, at a Brooklyn that is no longer the same. It’s also often forgotten that the movie is hilarious. The screening will kick off a two-week retrospective of Lee’s films at BAM.

Adam Levine: ‘I did not have sexual intercourse with Lindsay Lohan’
It seems like Lindsay Lohan’s leaked list of sexual conquests is going to haunt every famous name it contains for quite some time. Case in point: Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine had to suffer Howard Stern’s interrogation on the matter. “By the way, you were listed on Lindsay Lohan’s sex list, that you had sex with her. I didn’t know this,” Stern offered, to which Levine promptly shot back, “That’s not true. I did not have sexual intercourse with Lindsay Lohan.” Stern then pointed out that no one on the list has confessed to actually having earned their spot. “That’s because I think we’re being truthful,” Levine responded. When asked by Stern if anybody at all has had sex with Lohan,
The Queen of Thrones
Queen Elizabeth visited the set of “Games of Thrones” in Ireland earlier this week. She looked a little skeptical when looking at the Iron Throne, so we guess the cast doesn’t have to worry about her taking over it. The Queen also met several cast members of the HBO hit show, including Kit Harrington and Lena Heady. It’s fun to imagine the Queen and her husband being avid fans of a show like this, where nudity isn’t rare.
Levine replied, “A lot of people probably did, I don’t know.” Is that a less nice way of saying, “She Will Be Loved”?

DATING
It just became easier to be ‘You & Me’ When you’re away from your significant other, it’s easy to stay in touch with apps such as Snapchat, Instagram, text messages and so on. A new app called “You & Me” takes digital relationship maintenance one step further. The app combines some of the best sharing features of popular social media apps – such as videos, pictures and sharing a favorite song with your boo. You start by writing the name of yourself and your partner. Then the app creates a cute logo with the first initials of your names. You are then ready to share whatever with your loved one. It’s like sending a text message, but everything is here: the pictures, the videos, the songs, the voice and the secrets. When you take a photo, there are filter options like the ones you’re familiar with from other picture apps, such as Instagram.
The songs you send each other will be saved as a soundtrack. Download it
You can download the app for your device for free in App Store and Google Play.
A really fun feature is “The Secrets.” You send a picture (maybe with a note), and your partner has to wipe the screen to see the picture and note. You can watch the picture repeatedly, but it’ll stay hid-

Online dating is a dirty little lie, part one There are many stories of couples who met online. They clicked from the first time they clicked: Love, marriage and kids are in their future, and they owe it all to meeting on a dating website. But is that the norm? To find out, I asked 1.6 million people on my Facebook page. The result: an outpouring of missed dates, mixed messages and misunderstood expectations.
But if you read the complete study (and most people don’t), you will be quick to discover that “online” doesn’t just mean dating sites. It means somewhere in the digital world of the Internet, which includes virtual worlds, chat rooms, multiplayer games and social networks. In fact, a recent study from the Association for
Last year, the Huffington Post reported that a study funded by eHarmony found that as many as 35 percent of Americans now meet their spouses online. Sounds impressive, right?

Does society silently encourage the mistreatment of women?
Psychological Science found that although people are using online dating sites, the way people are actually finding spouses over the last several years remains largely unchanged. According to the study, 38 percent of people met a spouse at work or at school. Meanwhile, just 17 percent met a spouse on a dating site.

Proprietary algorithms, tests and questionnaires that promise to match you with a mate provide an air of awe and confidence. But the questions feeding these al-
gorithms are highly suspect. First, to match someone with a potential mate, these questionnaires need to be answered honestly and accurately (and they aren’t). The questions these surveys ask are really about dating, not relationships, and there is a big difference between dating someone today and being compatible for the long term. These compatibility tests don’t take into account upbringing, childhood environment and/ or teenage influences, nor do they address changing attitudes and needs. And, again, this is all assuming the respondents are telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. How often do you think that happens?

Pride keeps marching on Main event. Pride March has lots to celebrate, but the fight for rights isn’t won. You’d be forgiven for thinking that the Pride March, which brings together thousands of the city’s LGBT community, was just a giant party. But this annual public celebration of diversity is a platform for the social and political issues facing people who have only recently had cause to celebrate, says Chris Frederick, managing director of NYC Pride. Last summer saw the Supreme Court striking down the Defense of Marriage Act, and Frederick praised the progress made since then in gaining recognition for gay marriage around the country. But he also points out that equality remains far off. “Our theme for this year is We Have Won When We’re One, and it speaks volumes on how far we have to go for full equality,” Frederick says. “It was a nice move for DOMA to fall, but we can’t forget all of the others across the United States and around

the world that don’t have full equality.” Even as several states have overturned anti-gay marriage laws, LGBT rights have eroded worldwide in countries like Russia, Uganda and Brunei. The continued pursuit of equality means events like the Pride March remain highly relevant, Frederick says. “We will continue to call it a march until equality has been gained for all. Up until now, that isn’t the case.” The event is also important for LGBT youth to explore and embrace their

identity in the community. “There will always be that 16-year-old kid that is attending this event for the very first time, and ... that first experience forever changes one’s being,” Frederick says. “It allows them to realize they belong to something, that they’re connected to someone on a much larger scale.” The Pride March sets off Sunday at noon on Fifth Avenue, beginning at 36th Street. Re: ‘Kids should be off-limits to comic’ (Metro, June 25) Letter writer John Fox wrote about an imagined “uproar” that might have resulted if Cummings had joked about a liberal Democratic politician’s child rather than Sarah Palin’s. I fully appreciate and agree with the point; however, please don’t imagine the conservative right wing is any home to decency. Republican chairman of 2nd Congressional District Johnny Rhoda commented to U.S. News that if Hillary Clinton tried to run for president in Arkansas she would be shot at the state line.

World Cup preview: US set for Germany World Cup. The U.S. is looking for just one point against Germany to advance to the second round. The United States squandered a 2-1 lead over Portugal with 30 seconds left and now need to get a result in its final group match against Germany. A tie would send the Americans into the next round, while a win would see them win the group. It sounds easy enough, right? But it gets very complicated if neither of those scenarios — win or draw — plays out on Thursday (noon, ESPN). Ghana and Portugal will also kick off at noon. If those two draw, the U.S. will automatically advance. Ghana is more of a threat than Portugal, because a U.S. loss coupled with a Ghana win would bring goal differential into it. The same is true for Portugal, but they have a minus-4 differential, while Ghana is at just minus-1 from its loss to the United States. Germany looked like the top team in the tournament with a 4-0 win over Portugal to start group play, but leveled off considerably with a 2-2 draw against Ghana. The Germans need a result as well to ensure advancing, making this a fascinating story line for the United States. KRISTIAN DYER @KristianRDyer sports@metro.us

Three reasons the US will struggle …
1
Rested Germans While the United States played in the late match Sunday in the Amazonian city of Manaus, the Germans’ last fixture was midafternoon on Saturday. They will have more time to rest and less travel than the United States. For a veteran team, this is a big advantage for the Europeans, especially in the heat and humidity of Brazil.
2
The “Low” down While U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann was hailed for his work with
the Germans in 2006, it was his assistant, Joachim Low, who is quietly credited as the brains of the setup. Low understands Klinsmann, his tactics and is a true master of the game. The pupil might have the advantage over the mentor here.

might be out of the tournament. They might just pack it in, which could benefit the Yanks.

Wink, wink Klinsmann was a legend on the German national team, as a striker who scored goals and played with flair. He parlayed that into a remarkable run in 2006 as head coach of their national team, when they shocked the world with a third-place finish as the host nation. He remains tight with his replacement, Joachim Low, and it would surprise no one if both teams eschew aggressive play just to get a result. If Germany loses, it’d be a disgrace and they
German-Americans Up and down the American roster there are players who not only play in the German Bundesliga, but claim German roots. Often, they have an American father who was a serviceman and a German mother. Right back Fabian Johnson and midfielder Jermaine Jones chose to represent the U.S. On the bench, opening-game hero John Anthony Brooks, along with Timothy Chandler and Julian
Green, were also possibilities for Germany. These players will be motivated to go up against the nation where they’ve spent most of their lives.
3
JERMAINE JONES WAS BORN IN FRANKFORT AND WAS A MEMBER OF THE GERMAN UNDER-21 TEAM.
Lots of familiarity With a German head coach and five players with German roots, the Americans understand their opponent, their mindset and style of play. The Germans won’t be bigger or stronger than the Americans and the style of play will be roughly similar. The Americans will match up well here.
NBA draft comes to Barclays New York will host the 2014 NBA Draft on Thursday at the Barclays Center, but it won’t play much of a role in the proceedings. The Knicks reportedly dealt for the Mavericks’ first second-round pick (No. 34). That would be the only pick between either the Nets or Knicks in the entire draft, barring a trade Thursday. Andrew Wiggins is expected to go No. 1 to the Cavs, followed by Jabari Parker to the Bucks.

The Knicks got rid of a lot of dead weight on their 2014-15 roster Wednesday — $18.8 million to be exact. According to multiple reports, New York traded center Tyson Chandler and point guard Raymond Felton to the Mavericks in exchange for point guard Shane Larkin, center Samuel Dalembert, point guard Jose Calderon, shooting guard Wayne Ellington and the No. 34 overall pick in Thursday night’s NBA draft. While the move does add four players, even more important to the deal is the salary cap relief for the Knicks. The team had little to no exibility next season with Chandler set to make $14.5 million and Felton making $4.3 million. Felton, who pled guilty to gun possession charges this week to avoid jail time, also had a player

option for the following season — making his exit even more important than Chandler’s expiring deal. Star forward Carmelo Anthony opted out of the ďŹ nal year of his deal last weekend to explore free agency and it’s likely a return would be based on new president Phil Jackson improving the roster. The Knicks may not
hold on to all the players acquired from Dallas, but even if they do they will have saved about $3 million in the trade. Dalembert and Calderon will make $11 million between them in 2014-15. Though, with Anthony opting out and two other starters being traded Wednesday, the Knicks as they are currently constituted are a shell of
The Knicks have $59,932,898 in salary committed for next season, including the trade additions, according to HoopsHype. That obviously does not include Anthony, for whom the team holds Bird rights. The salary cap will be $63.2 million in 2014-15.
a team. The only players from last season who are under contract this fall are J.R. Smith, Amar’e Stoudemire, Andrea Bargnani, Iman Shumpert, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Pablo Prigioni. STAY AWAY FROM OLDER PLAYERS LIKE BRADY Fantasy owners are often lured by the Sirens of big names. But Father Time remains undefeated, conquering every athlete who stands in his path. It becomes a value problem on draft day because we’re paying for previous production, not where these older players actually are on their career arc.
Nearing the end, Frankly Frank Gore averaged a scary 3.65 yards per carry over his final 10 games last season — including the playoffs — and had just one 100-yard outing across his final 13 contests. The 49ers are transitioning toward the post-Gore era, as they’ve invested recent draft picks in Carlos Hyde and Marcus Lattimore. Both are candidates to steal reps from their 31-year-old leader, and we know once running backs start to decline they fall off the cliff quickly. Playing

Tom still terriďŹ c? Tom Brady’s weaponry let him down last year, but he also saw his passes lose steam the farther they traveled and his accuracy was average, leading to his lowest yardage and touchdown totals since 2006 and lowest completion percentage since 2003. He says mechanical tweaks will fix it, but he is still a 37-year-old quarterback. The Patriots have shown signs of switching to more of a run game, which
will continue to decrease Brady’s volume. He is a backup in most leagues.
Rice in hot water Off the field, Ray Rice is facing a suspension for roughing up his then-fiancÊe. On the field, it’s not much prettier. The tape shows Rice has lost the jumpcut ability and burst that made him so slippery to take down. It shouldn’t be surprising for a player with 2,746 touches between college and the NFL.
