Drum duo preach respect on subway Making noise. Ab’shalom ben’ Yisrael and Zu Naftali want to make your commute a little bit brighter. It’s 11:43 on a recent Friday morning, and the 4 train — free from rush-hour congestion — is flying downtown to 86th Street from 125th Street. Ab’shalom ben’ Yisrael, 40, and Zu Naftali, 36, bow their heads and say a prayer to the powers that be to keep them safe as they start a day of drumming on the trains. By the time their fingers hit the drums — Yisrael’s on the conga and Naftali’s on the bongos — a woman has plugged her ears. Others have pulled out their earbuds and started recording the act on their phones. Some straphangers carry on conversations, a baby in a stroller still sleeps as the tones bounce off the Bombardier’s train’s walls. Pulling into the station, more riders clap than abstain, and few reach for their wallets. If you’ve taken a ride on the 4 or 5 trains in the last six years, chances are you’ve seen Yisrael and Naftai, who perform as “Fresh 2 Life.” They drum, rhyme and riff in an effort to inspire New Yorkers to be a little more kind to each other. “Can I get a good afternoon?” Yisrael asks the train, in between automated announcements (Union Square is the next stop). “Instead of an ‘excuse me,’ how about a ‘hey, how you doing, can I sit down?’ We make things so hard for each other, and for one another, and then we wonder why we go through the things we go through. I don’t have a lot of problems — I have 99 blessings, a problem ain’t one … 40 years old and I’m still doing backflips. I’m loving life. Can you say the same for yourselves? Why you

ain’t smiling then?” By the time they take a break at Fulton Center to entertain a reporter’s questions, energy is high — they’re just getting started, and their buckets rattle with change and bills. “We have a higher vibe than I want to take your money, I want to see you
smile,” Yisrael said. The pair play on the trains five or six times a week in between their jobs — Yisrael works a nine-to-five counting merchandise, and Naftali works overnight as a rigger. “We’re not here to hustle anybody, people hustle every day and they get nowhere, because people hustle them right back.” Yisrael and Naftali, who are both native New Yorkers, met and started making music together about six years ago, when Yisrael said Naftali was making a sound on the drums he had
been trying to perfect himself for a year. They both were looking for a partner to play with, and about six months later, “Fresh 2 Life was born.” They play on the trains, up to six days a week, anywhere from four to eight hours, depending on their energy. “We try to incorporate civilization back into this civilization,” Naftali said. It doesn’t always work — Naftali has had his glasses snatched off his face in an attempt to stop him from drumming. But more often than not
they are the underground voices of reason, breaking up fights and arguments before they escalate. As with any activity that is against MTA rules, they have gotten tickets for playing on the trains. But Fresh 2 Life said they’ve had some helpful advice from officers to avoid tickets. They know the conductors on the line. They even have a photo of them posing with NYPD Transit Chief Joseph Fox. The MTA said in a statement they ask subway riders to adhere to the MTA’s rules of conduct. Fresh 2 Life take some above-ground gigs, but prefer a captive subterranean audience. In May, the de Blasio administration started a pilot program called “It’s Showtime NYC” that gives subway dancers an aboveground space to perform for crowds in hopes of avoiding their arrest or ticket for a summons. “It’s Showtime NYC aims to steer New Yorkers into opportunity instead of arrest while protecting public safety — and we’re always looking for new ways to do so. As we evaluate its success, we will also explore ways to replicate that model,” City Hall spokeswoman Amy Spitalnick said in an email when asked if the program might expand to include musicians. Train dancers often face steeper punishments, such as reckless endangerment, as opposed to buskers who might be ticketed for blocking traffic or using amplified sound without a permit. “New York used to be the greatest city in the world,” Yisrael said. Now people come through and say, ‘Why does everyone look so mad?’ It’s serious, and we’re trying to change it. … I remember when people said hello to each other all the time, and when someone sneezed, everyone said bless you.” WENDY JOAN BIDDLECOMBE

Tenants ask Buildings Dept. to save them from landlord harassment Complaints. City Council is committed to introduce a package of 12 bills designed to reform the department.
Tenant advocates and lawmakers want the city’s Buildings Department to step up its work to protect tenants facing harassment from landlords. A report released on Wednesday affirms a
litany of complaints critics are lodging at the city agency, including slow and ineffective response to complaints about construction work that negatively affects tenants’ health. The report also said
the Buildings Department fails to collect fines on landlords who accumulate violations that stack up over time and end up pushing residents out. The Department of Buildings did not respond
to multiple requests for comment by Metro. In front of City Hall, Lower East side resident Rob Pinter told reporters the landlord of his building displaced most of the 17 rent-regulated tenants before he began renovations in 2013. They haven’t ended, said Pinter, who accused the landlord of allowing jackhammering of the unit above his. “This led to a ceiling collapse and the release of clouds of toxic dust into my apartment,” he said, adding he has since been diagnosed with bronchial asthma. Public online records showed the building Pinter lives on Eighth Street has received 17 complaints since June 2013, all of which were classified as resolved. The only open violation listed online refers to a cracked wall in the basement. Four other violations since March 2013 were dismissed. Bolstered by the report, at least 11 City Council members have signed on to a series of bills designed to reform the Buildings Department. “Too often, landlords get away with claiming their building has no oc-

cupants and forcing tenants to live amid a gut renovation,” said Manhattan City Councilwoman Helen Rosenthal in a statement. “Until DOB finds a solution to check every landlord’s claims of ‘no occupancy,’ it remains complicit in the harassment that landlords inflict on tenants,” Rosenthal added. The report, by coalition group Stand for Tenant Safety and the Urban Justice Center, comes two days after Mayor Bill de Blasio announced $12.3 million in city money would be directed toward free legal services for tenants facing eviction and displacement by landlords.

Zadroga Act for 9/11 responders, survivors expired at midnight No response. Leaders in the House and Senate are mum on when either will vote to reauthorize aid for those still recovering from the terrorist attacks. The federal fund designed to help Sept. 11 first responders and survivors pay for health care costs expired Wednesday. Despite insistent pressure by New York lawmakers and local ce-
lebrities including Jon Stewart, Congress missed the deadline to renew the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act. The $1.6 billion health care program serves some 70,000 residents across New York and New Jersey who worked, lived or responded to the World Trade Center after the terrorist attacks in 2001. Enough money is left from the previous, equally contested authorization in 2011 to pay for care for another year, but lawmakers from both states have been pushing in both the House and Senate to authorize
a more permanent solution. “Fourteen years ago, we gathered on the steps of the Capitol and vowed to never forget. We must not walk away,” read an open letter by New York Reps. Carolyn Maloney, Jerrold Nadler and Peter King in The Hill. Neither House nor Senate leaders have publicly announced when a bill to reauthorize would be up for a vote. On Wednesday, local leaders called on Congress to act sooner rather than later. “Congress must stop putting politics ahead of our heroes’ health,”

New York City officials confirmed Wednesday that one person died as a result of the latest cluster of Legionnaires’ disease identified in the Bronx. The current number of infected New Yorkers stands at 12, up from the seven the city originally announced on Monday. The previous outbreak in the South Bronx claimed the lives of 12 Bronxites. City officials said the current outbreak is concentrated with residents and visitors to Morris Park. Eleven people remain under watch in area hospitals. One patient has been discharged, the health department said. CHESTER SORIA

Ending weeks of infighting, Congress on Wednesday voted to avert a government shutdown just hours before a midnight deadline, passing a stopgap measure to extend funding for federal agencies until Dec. 11. The House of Representatives relied heavily on Democrats to secure passage in a 277 to 151 vote. A large majority of Republicans voted against the measure, which did not meet conservatives’ demands to cut off money to women’s health care provider Planned Parenthood amid an abortion controversy. The House also passed a companion bill aimed at restoring the Planned Parenthood defunding provision, but the Senate is not expected to act on it, effectively killing it. The spending extension now moves to President Barack Obama to be signed into law. Obama welcomed the news with a tinge of sarcasm in remarks to a group of progressive state legislators in Washington. “The good news is that it looks like the Republicans will just barely avoid shut-

ting down the government for the second time in two years. That’s a somewhat low bar but we should celebrate where we can,” Obama said. “The bad news is that it looks like Republicans will just barely avoid shutting down the government again for the second time in two years,” he added. The controversy over Planned Parenthood funding threatened a repeat of a 17-day shutdown in October 2013 that was prompted by Republican demands to deny federal funding for Obama’s health care law, the Affordable Care Act.
/ GETTY IMAGES
House conservatives, cheered on by some Senate colleagues, had insisted that Planned Parenthood be punished for allegedly improperly selling fetal tissue harvested from abortions. The organization has denied the allegations. But the debate shifted dramatically last week when House Speaker John Boehner announced his resignation and said he would put the Senate’s “clean” funding bill to a vote. The funding extension aims to give congressional negotiators and President Barack Obama about 10 weeks to work out a longer-term budget deal and ease automatic spending constraints on military and domestic spending. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said he would like to reach a deal with Democrats that sets funding levels for two fiscal years, through Sept. 30, 2017. REUTERS

Prosecutors. Caitlyn Jenner will not be charged in fatal car crash
Shoulder Arthritis Treatments Keeping Boomers Active Into Their 60’s, 70’s Even 80’s? If you suffer with painful shoulder arthritis – science may have finally found the answer you’ve been looking for. Here is why: Researchers have discovered an natural gel like medicine that is like “joint oil.” This all-natural gel is one of the naturally occurring lubricating substances in your shoulder joint that cushions and lubricates the joint which dries out over time due to wear-and-tear, age or injury. But when doctors precisely place this lubricating gel into your shoulder joint by using advanced digital imaging technology – it is like putting oil on a rusty door hinge. It lubricates the joint and can decrease pain and stiffness. For some, results can be dramatic and last for months. Years for some. Often times shoulder surgery can be avoided.
Know this: This is NOT a supplement you can buy over the counter or on the internet. This is a REAL medical treatment that must be given by a trained health care professional. And the great news is: There is a free report and information kit available that tells you everything you need to know about this treatment. It also tells you all about cuttingedge medical clinics right here in New York City that are offering this cutting-edge treatment with tremendous success. To get your information kit or to schedule a NoObligation Risk Free Shoulder Screening simply call 800-627-PAIN (7246).
Former Olympian and reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner will not be charged in connection with a crash in Malibu earlier this year that killed a 69-year-old woman, Los Angeles prosecutors said on Wednesday. Based on the facts in the case, prosecutors lacked evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that Jenner’s conduct was unreasonable, according to documents provided by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Jenner, 65, was driving a Cadillac Escalade along Pacific Coast Highway and towing a trailer carrying a dune buggy when she slammed into two other cars, according to authorities. During the crash, a white Lexus being driven by 69-year-old Kim Howe was shoved by Jenner’s sport utility vehicle across a center divider and into oncoming traffic, where it was struck head-on by a Hummer. Howe was killed in the collision and Jessica Steindorff, who was driving a black Toyota Prius also rear-ended by Jenner, was injured.
Caitlyn Jenner / GETTY IMAGES
Jenner escaped serious injury in the crash and declined medical treatment, authorities said at the time. Civil cases typically require a lesser burden of proof than criminal courts. A spokeswoman for Howe’s attorney could not immediately be reached following the district attorney’s decision on Wednesday.
Bruce Jenner was known to younger generations as the patriarch of reality TV’s Kardashian clan before announcing in a nationally televised interview in April that he is transgender. Caitlyn Jenner is now the star of her own reality TV show, “I Am Cait,” centered on her transition. REUTERS
The accident Details according to a summary of the investigation released by the district attorney’s office: •
Jenner was driving slightly below the speed limit and “minimally slower than the victim” and braked 1.9 to 1.5 seconds before the collision.
•
•
The only possible violation against Jenner would be a “violation of the basic speed law,” meaning too fast for the conditions. Prosecutors said that “crime also requires ordinary negligence. Based on facts, cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt
that suspect’s conduct was unreasonable.” •
Reasonable doubt is the standard required in California, and in most U.S. courts, to prove a defendant guilty of a crime. Both Steindorff and Howe’s family have sued Jenner.

Pope secretly met Kentucky clerk in gay marriage row
A Kentucky county clerk who had been jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples secretly met Pope Francis during his visit to the United States last week, a meeting she called greatly encouraging. U.S. visit, she and her lawyer told American media. With the issue of same-sex marriage dividing Americans, the pope’s meeting with Davis and Francis’ comments on Monday may further embolden local oďŹƒcials across the United States who have said they will not issue marriage licenses to gay couples. In Texas, Alabama and elsewhere a number of clerks and judges who stated their opposition to gay marriage have thrown up roadblocks to the unions. Davis’ attorney, Mat Staver, told CBS News, “The fact that [the pope] met with Kim Davis sends a message that he is someone who stands with those individuals who are standing up for their religious convictions, that religious freedom is a worldwide message that the pope wants to convey.â€?

Ben Affleck is over his nanny phase
K thanks bye. / ALL PHOTOS GETTY IMAGES
They said it was just a phase, and apparently they were right. Ben Affleck has reportedly called off his post-divorce dalliance with his and Jennifer Garner’s former nanny, Christine Ouzounian — to the rejoicing of spell-checkers everywhere. “He cut ties with her recently, a source tells Life & Style. “He told Christine he

I mean, I understand the siren song of convenience and all, but come on. “He had fun with [her], but it wasn’t love, the source adds, wistfully.
So much for Amanda Seyfried and Justin Long Amanda Seyfried has apparently kicked boyfriend Justin Long to the curb after two years of dating, according to Us Weekly. “It happened a few weeks ago, a source explains. “He’s really heartbroken. Earlier this year in an interview with Vogue, Seyfried revealed how she initially fell for Long — on Instagram, if you can believe it — and hinted that things might not be working out so well. “I thought something he said was really funny. It was a beautiful picture of a snail, and the caption said, ‘F—ing MOOOOOOOOVE.’ It made me laugh out loud,

Vertigo-stricken Brian Austin Green wants alimony from Megan Fox
Poor Brian Austin Green. Not only is he going through a divorce — amicable or not — from Megan Fox, but now everyone gets to see the documents showing him asking her for spousal support. TMZ got its hands on this week’s filing, in which Green valiantly checked the “spousal or domestic partner support box, indicating that Fox is the bigger earner of the two. Which makes sense, because Green has apparently been battling vertigo and not working much

George R.R. Martin confirms ‘Game of Thrones’ movie
The “Game of Thronesâ€? folks are planning to make the jump to the big screen after their HBO run is wrapped up, author George R.R. Martin conďŹ rms to the Daily Star. “There will be a movie, but I will not be involved. I have too much to do. That is something HBO and [the show’s writers] are dealing with,â€? Martin explains. “I have two more books to ďŹ nish.â€? An anonymous source on the hit series’ production sta says the movie could even feature some beloved but long-dead characters. “With the ‘Game Of Thrones’ universe there is much rich material and no constraints on when that story will take place,â€? the source says. “They are looking at dipping back in time during certain periods of the series, which could be examined as a one-o plot. That means that some of the big characters who fans have seen die on screen could be resurrected, such as Robb Stark, Catelyn Stark, Oberyn Martell — and Ned Stark.â€? This, I can get behind.

An ensemble man takes center stage Interview. Ken Jeong is finally ready for his close-up on the new sitcom “Dr. Ken.”
“Hangover” movies to “Community.” Now, he’s finally getting a chance to do his own thing on “Dr. Ken,” a sitcom loosely based on his life. He stars as an irritable doctor struggling with how to be a good parent to his kids.
Even if you don’t know his name, chances are you’ve seen Ken Jeong in something. He originally popped up as a very brusque doctor in “Knocked Up,” but has since appeared in a number of comedy hits over the years, from the
Having been in big ensembles, how does it feel to go solo? I’m just so grateful. You can tell, here, it really is a great ensemble. Though my name is in the title, I think of this as an ensemble-driven show. It really is, because, you know, being on “Community” for six years, all the projects I’ve done have been ensemble-driven. “Knocked Up,” “The Hangover,” all of them, it’s never been about one person. “Community” especially. That’s pretty deeply rooted in my DNA. So really as the show evolves, to me, it’s really more about the ensemble.

One more thing
Co-star Suzy Nakamura stars as Jeong’s wife, Allison, who’s a psychiatrist. We asked her what it’s like to play someone based on the real thing.
“Dr. Ken” premieres Friday at 8:30 p.m. on ABC. / DANNY FELD
How much of your real life is in the show? Everything comes from a place of reality and is always fictionalized for effect. There are definite episode ideas I have that have come from a real place, from a real point in my life, from my career in medicine, and then it is organically massaged into something that’s comedic or something that’s usable as a runner or a story. That’s been the fun part
of it. There’s really cool stuff that you wouldn’t know, watching the final product, it emanated from that. This is easily the most grounded character I’ve ever had because it’s based on me. Is it hard to transition from the oddballs you’ve played in the past to more of a straight man? It’s great that the public can accept me for my outsideness, like on “Commu-
nity” and “The Hangover.” It’s actually easier, in my opinion, to transition to the straight-man foil than most people think. It’s sometimes harder if you’re used to playing the straight person and the public so identifies you with that — then, if you’re doing something remotely crazy, that can be jarring. LISA WEIDENFELD @LisaWeidenfeld lisa.weidenfeld@metro.us
Are you learning about more psychiatry now? I’m going to do my best. But I love that my character feels that she has a one up on Ken because she understands his psyche. His wife in real life, Tran, is a big inspiration to me because she’s very calm and she does ground him. I loosely based my character off her energy. CRAIG SJODIN

I just got back from my 13th comic book convention of the year, and it’s not my last before December 31. If I had a dollar for every Deadpool costume I’ve seen this year, I’d be able to buy all the remote control BB-8s! You may have heard me complaining about cons online: eating nothing but pizza for three days or how I’ve outwalked my step counter. But with the exception of San Diego Comic-Con, which has frankly gotten too big for the space it’s in, you’ll never hear me say I hate them. This time around, it was the Nashville Wizard World, where I got to moderate a bunch of panels, including the “Dukes of Hazzard, “Firefly and “CHiPs reunions, as well as ones for Danny Trejo and Candice Patton from “The Flash. It’s really hard to beat talking to these amazing people, but that’s not the thing that makes me love them. It’s the absolute love of every permutation of nerd culture and everyone who shares in it. It sounds like a given, but there were some amazing moments that you’d find in very few other places. I watched a woman burst into applause when we talked about her favorite female character on a panel and how things are chang-

ing for the industry. She got choked up when we talked about it afterward. I saw a 4-year-old kid who just discovered “CHiPs squeal in happiness after taking over the panel with his motorcycle questions. I watched a Make-A-Wish kid absolutely beam with joy when he got a hug from the “Dukes of Hazzard cast. Sure, those shows may be long since over. They may not be technically “geek, but that’s the thing about this world: If you love it, you can find people who love
it right along with you. I heard a girl tell her friend all about classic “Doctor Who and completely persuade her to watch. I saw a dad explaining the parts of a broken Millennium Falcon toy at a booth to his tiny son dressed as Han Solo. I was there when a sea of people with Jayne Cobb hats (including one very cute baby) got up onstage to take pictures with Adam Baldwin and Jewel Staite after the panel. I had yet another little boy tell me he didn’t buy the Avengers set because Black Widow

Oct. 9, 7:30-11 p.m. Terminal 5 $56 After “Twilight” and “The Vampire Diaries,” the bloodsucking genre could use a little of the late-’90s grit of “Blade.” Enter event masters BBQ Films, who have lined up everything short of Wesley Snipes to put you in the movie’s world with an old-school rave featuring dancers, sword-fighting and roving vamps from Poisonous Pinups. But what you’re really there for is the (synthetic) blood rain as The Crystal Method reprograms your pulse with thumping beats.

Debaters will include Janeane Garofalo, an “I Love Superman” alum from Upright Citizens Brigade and a “Daily Show” writer, plus lots of audience participation so arrive prepared; knowing your history is just as important here as your grand unified theory of why Hollywood can’t make a good Superman film anymore.

Treats to feel like autumn has arrived
Apple Cider Donut from Carpe Donut
X3LAVENDER, INSTAGRAM
It may be more muggy than crisp, but fall is officially on the calendar, and we’ve waited long enough for its delicious treats. Here’s where to find some of the best in the city. The West Village is home to the epitome of autumn beverages. Distilled (211 West Broadway) brings back the vibe of the city’s bygone social neighborhood hubs. Their Spiced
Pumpkin Cider throws together crisp apple cider with pumpkin spices and puree, not to mention a hit of Brugal 1888 rum and a creamy whipped cream topping strewn with grated nutmeg. It’s even served in an “I Love NY” mug! Doughnuts from a food truck arrive hot and fresh, exactly when they taste best. Track down Carpe Donut on Twitter for their
apple cider treats. Order a cup of hot apple cider to sip along with it and hope that sweater weather arrives soon. We’ll happily eat our way right out of our beach bodies with the Maple Bourbon Walnut Pie from The Blue Stove (415 Graham Ave., Brooklyn). Nolita’s swanky all-day eatery Delicatessen (54 Prince St.) has a signa-
ture autumnal drink, the Prince Street Cider, that melds all the classic favors: Spiced rum and ginger liqueur are layered on top of an apple cider base, then topped with cinnamon. ISAIAH CRUZ AND JACKIE STOCKINGER

With the resumption of diplomatic relations between Havana and Washington, Cuba is poised to become the hottest Caribbean island. Cuba is only 90 miles from Key West in Florida, but it has been forbidden fruit for Americans for more than 50 years. Most Americans still need authorization to go, and there are as yet no scheduled air or ferry services from the United States, but don’t let that put you off. A cruise is an even better way to get a real feel for the island.

Reasons to cruise around Havana
and is packed with museums that portray life during colonial times. Cantero Palace on elegant Plaza Mayor is the best choice, but leave time to stroll and admire the city’s fabulous colonial architecture.
Greek company Variety Voyager has cruises between Havana and Cienfuegos that stay two nights in the capital. Cuba Cruise by Celestyal Cruises has seven-night voyages that circumnavigate the island and an alternative embarkation in Montego Bay, Jamaica, which is a much easier access point for Americans.
5
Cemetery Santa Efigenia in Santiago de Cuba is the resting place of Jose Marti, who led Cuba’s fight to oust the Spanish in the late 1800s. Every 30 minutes between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., they change the guard at his mausoleum while the Cuban national anthem plays.
Here are six things not to miss when you’re there:
1
Follow in the footsteps of Ernest Hemingway by visiting his former home, Finca Vigia, 10 miles east of Havana and now a museum (you’re not allowed in, but you can peek through the windows). Back in the capital, toast the famed author with a mojito in the Bodeguita del Medio and a daiquiri in the Floridita. They were his favorite drinks and watering holes.
2
A Coco taxi (yellow, round, and great fun) is the only way to travel in Havana — apart from the classic American cars that adorn the roads and also serve as cabs. Remember to agree to a price before starting out.
3
Old Havana has an alluring mix of neoclassical architecture — don’t miss the grand El Capitolio, modeled on the Capitol in Washington — and faded elegance. You can learn the art of cigar rolling and rummaking on factory visits, shop for
locally made crafts and round off the day at the Tropicana, a colorful Las Vegas-style show of song, dance and skimpy costumes.
4
Trinidad, on the south coast, was built on the proceeds of slavery and sugar
6
Cienfuegos was the only Cuban city founded by the French. Make your way to the Parque Jose Marti, which is surrounded by an 1870-built neoclassical cathedral, the grand Teatro Tomas Terry and a mini Arc de Triomphe. INSIGHT GUIDES | JANE ARCHER
WWW.INSIGHTGUIDES.COM TRAVEL WEEKLY, NEW YORK, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2015
It’s the Halloween season, when spirits, ghouls and things that go bump in the night invite living visitors to meet them at haunted sites. It’s not that spirits return only at Halloween — it’s that the original solstice celebrations made people more aware of them. Those rituals have since evolved into secular fun. Party stores say Halloween is their busiest season, far outselling St. Patrick’s Day, Cinco de Mayo and even New Year’s. At one time, only famous historic locations with obvious connections to ghosts had tours of haunted sites. Now, almost any place that predates electricity claims a paranormal pedigree and schedules guided tours to show off its resident ghouls. Sometimes theatrical with costumed guides and staged “encounters,” and
sometimes conducted by serious paranormal investigators, the walks mix folklore, history and documented strange occurrences. Most tours are family-friendly, with just a few spooky chills. A few are very intense with truly frightening stories and ghostly encounters. Some include a paranormal investigation element, which could mean some supernatural guests joining the stroll.
Here are some walks worth taking: With the history of the witch trials in Salem, Massachusetts (Salem.org), and the carnage of the Battle of Gettysburg (Destinationgettysburg.com), it’s no wonder that both towns offer a variety of ghost tours. Their tourism websites have links to all of the ghost walk companies with descriptions of the events. Conditions were terrible and many of the inmates died. Accessible only by boat, there are several tours available. The Appetite for Apparitions Dinner and Ghost Tour includes dinner at a dockside restaurant, a cruise to the fort and a visit to the more haunted areas of the prison. There are also several paranormal investigation tours. Another “grub and ghost” night is in Rochester, New York (rochesterghosts.com), with dinner in a haunted house followed by a séance. There’s also a cemetery stroll and instruction in using a dowsing rod to detect spirit energy. Portsmouth’s Wicked

SELL NOW ON THESE BIGNAME PLAYERS
Selling low is usually a really bad idea in any kind of investment venture. We will typically show a better return by surviving the bad times and waiting for things to positively progress toward the mean. But in fantasy football, we don’t have a lot of time. Most “regular seasons” are 13 weeks, meaning we need to start getting wins and we need them now. These big names are unlikely to turn their seasons around:
Not so easy Breesy Drew Brees was in trouble long before his rotator cuff got bruised. The Saints made it clear this offseason that they wanted to change their

style, dumping Jimmy Graham and Kenny Stills while investing heavily in the running game and the offensive line. Brees’ skills are diminishing and when he drops back, he’s looking at a 5-foot-10 No. 1 WR in Brandin Cooks,
along with Brandon Coleman, Ben Watson and a broken-down Marques Colston. Even when Brees’ shoulder gets right, owners are better off looking elsewhere at the quarterback position.
Andre the not-so-giant Andre Johnson was a Texans legend, arguably the greatest player in the history of the franchise. After last season, they simply washed their hands of him despite having one of the thinnest WR depth charts in the league. The Colts are finding out why now, as Johnson is moving like a lumbering tight end instead of an elite receiver. Unable to separate, he’s

been leaped by Donte Moncrief for No. 2 wideout. Andrew Luck has a 7.4 rating when throwing at the 34-year-old, something he’s done 18 times.
Beasting the wall There’s still plenty of value on the trade market for Marshawn Lynch and owners would do well to explore it. We can’t say for sure that he’s hit the wall, but we’ve seen this scene too many times before. A 29-year-old running back
with at least 280 carries in four straight seasons can’t get over hamstring, calf and back issues. When on the field, he becomes increasingly touchdowndependent. Meanwhile, the team has new and exciting options in Graham and Tyler Lockett. Lynch is worth moving for 80 cents on the dollar.

The time is drawing nigh. Next Wednesday night in Chicago, the New York Rangers will begin their 2015-16 campaign inside a packed house at the United Center and a national television audience watching the season opener against the Blackhawks.
