BRIEF Armed man forces himself into Brooklyn MTA token booth An armed man forced his way into a subway worker’s booth in Brownsville on Tuesday and took cash from the register in broad daylight, police said. Authorities reported Charles Hudgins, 42, took advantage of a cleaner emptying out the trash bin inside a token booth at the Junius Street

station near Powell Street at around 3 p.m. Hudgins forced himself into the booth and flashed a gun, forcing the worker to empty out the cash register, officers said. He ran away from the scene soon after. Investigators said no one was injured in the daytime caper, and that witnesses nearby helped identify Hudgins as the culprit. However, the suspect

Gracie to open for tours in November Visitors to the historic mayoral home can get a sneak peek of new art collection on Oct. 25 CHESTER SORIA @chestersoria

chester.soria@metro.us

The city’s designated home for mayors since 1942 is opening up once again to the public in November. The Upper East Side mansion features a new art collection on display curated to showcase the city’s diversity throughout six rooms in the home. The latest additions can all be sourced to the time of the original Gracie Mansion, which was built in 1799. “When we look back, we are reminded that diversity is this city’s DNA,” said first lady Chirlane McCray in a statement. “We flourish when we celebrate and encourage our bounty of difference. That’s the story this installation tells.” Titled “Windows on the City,” the exhibit also includes stoneware, Native-American artifacts and historical documents on loan from the New York State

Archives on slavery. Public tours will start in earnest on Nov. 10. Those interested in attending the October open house can register online at NYC.gov/gracieopen house. NBC New York reported the new art pieces replace previously featured portraits of President George Washington and wife of former Mayor Robert Wagner, Susan Wagner. New Yorkers and tourists alike can take a gander at 49 new works during an open house on October 25, and can register for the initial tour of the historic home starting Oct. 19. The mansion has undergone serious repairs starting in January, when ongoing leaking forced the city to spend capital money to replace Gracie’s roof. Workers later found asbestos in the home. Former Mayor Michael Bloomberg hosted events and dignitaries in the space, but chose to live in his own Upper East Side townhouse.

NYC gets D+ on hiring businesses owned by women and minorities The city is still falling short of hiring companies owned by women and minorities, though it is doing a better job than in 2014, according to a report released by City Comptroller Scott Stringer on Wednesday. The second annual report, called “Making the Grade: New York City Agency Report Card on Minority/Women Owned Businesses Enterprises (M/WBE),” gave the city an overall D+ rating — up from a D in 2014 — and “found that women and minorities continue to be largely shut out of New York’s $13.8 billion annual procurement budget,” according to Stringer’s office. Just $725 million of that procurement budget is going to women

Stringer MILES DIXON

and minority-owned businesses, Stringer’s office said. That means less than 2 percent of the city’s 46,000 vendors are owned by women or minorities. “New York City has certified more than 4,100 vendors as official ‘Minority and WomenOwned Business Enterprises’ — but we’ve left

80 percent of them in the lurch when it comes to actually giving out contracts,” Stringer said in a statement. The report found the city is doing a better job using firms owned by Asian and Hispanic owners, but businesses owned by black and women scored an F. The report card also noted that two-thirds of agencies didn’t follow city regulations that require them to collect data on the subcontractors they hire. Mayor Bill de Blasio’s spokeswoman, Ishanee Parikh, said the administration is “making an unprecedented effort to prioritize increasing awards to minority and women-owned business enterprises.” WENDY JOAN BIDDLECOMBE

Uber, which claims to cover 75 percent of the U.S. population, partners with the NCMEC in 180 other U.S. cities, according to the company. Amber Alerts have found 772 children since the program started in 1996, according to the press release.

Bradley Cooper and Philadelphia have a thing together. It’s hard to deny. The 2011 People’s Sexiest Man Alive was born and raised in the area, grew up in Jenkintown and filmed his Oscarnominated Eagles-themed movie, “Silver Linings Playbook,” in the city. But in a sharp shift from his Philly-guy persona — he did the voiceover on an anti-New York, anti-Giants video rant last season, he had some sweet things to say about the G-Men, who head to Philly next week for an early-season make-orbreak Monday night tilt. “I wouldn’t say I’m

not the biggest fan of the Giants,” Cooper told Metro in an exclusive interview. “I actually like Eli Manning a lot, and I was a huge Michael Strahan fan. They were an incredible team, but I’m from Philly. What do you want me to do?” The 40-year-old graduate of Germantown Academy is solid on one thing when it comes to the Eagles: Never count your chickens.

“Well, I was happy with last week, and then we have the Giants on Monday night, so fingers crossed,” Cooper told Metro. “We’re 2-3, and you know, I always try to stay positive.” Last season, the Birds were 9-3 and looking poised to make a deep playoff run. But the Seahawks, Cowboys and Redskins dismantled Chip Kelly’s team, as the Eagles finished 1-3 and missed the playoffs in heartbreaking fashion. The hearthrob hedged his bets when it came to coach Chip Kelly and quarterback Sam Bradford, offering a lukewarm show of support for the embattled duo. “You know, we’ll see,” Cooper told Metro. “They had a good last weekend [a 39-17 win against the Saints], but you never know until the end of the season.”

our watch shouldn’t cost more than your car. It should look and feel like a power tool and not a piece of bling. Wearing it shouldn’t make you think twice about swinging a hammer or changing a tire. A real man’s timepiece needs to be ready for anything. But that’s just my opinion. If you agree, maybe you’re ready for the Stauer Centurion Hybrid. Use your Exclusive Insider Promotional Code below and I’ll send it to you today for ONLY $59. This watch doesn’t do dainty. And neither do I. Call me old-fashioned, but I want my boots to be leather, my tires to be deeptread monsters, and my steak thick and rare. Inspiration for a man’s watch should come from things like fast cars, firefighters and power tools. And if you want to talk beauty, then let’s discuss a 428 cubic inch V8. Did I mention the $59 price tag? This is a LOT of machine for not a lot of money. The Stauer Centurion Hybrid sports a heavy-duty alloy body, chromed and detailed with a rotating bezel that allows you to track direction. The luminous hour and minute hands mean you can keep working into the night. And the dual digital displays give this watch a hybrid ability. The LCD windows displays the time, day and date, includes a stopwatch function, and features a bright green electro-luminescent backlight. We previously offered the Centurion for $199, but with the exclusive promotional code it’s yours for ONLY $59!

No matter what, this watch can keep up. Thanks to the Stauer 30-day Money Back Guarantee, you’ve got time to prove it. If you’re not totally satisfied, return it for a full refund of the purchase price. You also get a 2-year replacement guarantee on both movements. But I have a feeling the only problem you’ll have is deciding whether to keep the Stauer Centurion on your dresser or tucked inside your toolbox.

Twitter takes Google exec Kordestani for post of chairman His sales experience could prove a good counterpoint to Twitter co-founder Dorsey’s vision, analysts said. Twitter lured Google executive Omid Kordestani to become the social media company’s executive chairman, the latest step in the company’s turnaround efforts under Jack Dorsey, who last week was named permanent CEO. Kordestani’s extensive sales experience could prove a good counterpoint to Twitter co-founder Dorsey’s product knowledge and vision, analysts said. “It’s rare you get to be at a company with an amazing business that’s also transforming the

world,” Kordestani tweeted. “I’ve had good fortune to be at three: Netscape, @google, and now @twitter.” Kordestani, most recently senior adviser at Google, will join Twitter’s board and will have an operational role at the company, a Twitter spokeswoman said. That will include help with board and employee recruiting and advising ex-

ecutive leadership. Twitter said last week it would hire an outsider as chairman to allay concerns about Dorsey’s dual role as head of mobile payments company Square Inc, which is reportedly planning an IPO. “It’s quite a coup,” said James Cordwell, analyst at Atlantic Equities. “He was very well-respected at Google.” Twitter shares, which are down 18 percent this year, were up about 1 percent in afternoon trading. The announcement could lead to other changes to the board, long criticized for having too many former Twitter CEOs, an excess that investors and analysts said had hampered the company’s ability to attract executives and high-level employees. Shoulder Arthritis Treatments Keeping Boomers Active Into Their 60’s, 70’s Even 80’s? If you suffer with painful shoulder arthritis – science may have finally found the answer you’ve been looking for. Here is why: Researchers have discovered an natural gel like medicine that is like “joint oil.” This all-natural gel is one of the naturally occurring lubricating substances in your shoulder joint that cushions and lubricates the joint which dries out over time due to wear-and-tear, age or injury. But when doctors precisely place this lubricating gel into your shoulder joint by using advanced digital imaging technology – it is like putting oil on a rusty door hinge. It lubricates the joint and can decrease pain and stiffness. For some, results can be dramatic and last for months. Years for some. Often times shoulder surgery can be avoided.

Know this: This is NOT a supplement you can buy over the counter or on the internet. This is a REAL medical treatment that must be given by a trained health care professional. And the great news is: There is a free report and information kit available that tells you everything you need to know about this treatment. It also tells you all about cuttingedge medical clinics right here in New York City that are offering this cutting-edge treatment with tremendous success. To get your information kit or to schedule a NoObligation Risk Free Shoulder Screening simply call 800-627-PAIN (7246).

Ex-NBA star Lamar Odom reported in critical condition It was the latest episode in Odom’s roller-coaster personal and professional life.

Lamar Odom, a former professional basketball player and reality TV star, was reported to be fighting for his life in a Las Vegas hospital on Wednesday after he was found unresponsive at a legal brothel. The 35-year-old former Los Angeles Lakers standout and ex-husband of Khloe Kardashian suffered a medical emergency on Tuesday at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada, and was taken to the hospital, the Nye County Sheriff’s Office said. Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center, where Odom was taken, declined to comment on Odom’s condition, citing patient confidentiality. But celebrity website TMZ.com cited unidentified sources as saying Odom was in a coma and that some of his organs were failing. Another outlet, E!, also cited unnamed sources in reporting that Odom suffered brain damage and at

least one stroke, and was on a ventilator after taking multiple drugs. The E! cable TV channel airs the reality show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” The brothel’s owner, Dennis Hof, said that, during his three-day stay, Odom had been taking large amounts of “herbal Viagra,” a nonprescription product which can dramatically lower blood pressure and interact with other medications. Khloe Kardashian, whose whirlwind romance with Odom was captured in “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and its spin-off, “Khloe and Lamar,” was at his bedside, TMZ and Us Weekly reported. The couple split in 2013 after four years of marriage and their di-

vorce was finalized in July, though she has remained in close contact with him. Odom publicist Eve Sarkisyan said in a statement that “family and friends are extremely concerned for Lamar” but warned against “false information being circulated unofficially.” Odom’s hospitalization followed a downturn in a 14-season career with National Basketball Association teams, including the Lakers from 2004-2011. On top of the pressures of the life of a top NBA player, Odom, whose mother died when he was 12, had to deal with being a reality TV star after marrying Kardashian. The 6-foot-10 athlete has long been reported to have had issues with cocaine abuse, although this has never been publicly confirmed. He has admitted only to using marijuana. During the 2000-2001 season, Odom was suspended for violating the NBA’s antidrug policy. In 2013, he pleaded no contest in Los Angeles to a charge of driving under the influence and was ordered to undergo rehabilitation for three months for alcohol abuse. REUTERS

Lil Wayne gets ahead of himself on Lamar Odom’s demise When news broke that Lamar Odom was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel, plenty of famous folks started sending best wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery. Except for Lil Wayne. The rapper — who may have just misheard what was going on — jumped straight into mourning the loss of the retired NBA player and former Kardashianadjacent reality star. Wednesday morning, while Khloe Kardashian and Kobe Bryant were rushing to Odom’s bedside, Weezy tweeted, “R.I.P. LO. Damn man. My blessings to ur fam and friends.” An embarrassing gaffe, to be sure. Except Wayne isn’t really one for embarrassment. He tweeted a follow-up, simply stating, “Woop,” but he didn’t take the original tweet down. Blanchett and Redford return to history The stars of “Truth” say their film isn’t a simple exoneration of Dan Rather. MATT PRIGGE @mattprigge

matt.prigge@metro.us

Obviously Robert Redford, star of “All the President’s Men,” has a lot to say about journalism. But Cate Blanchett, Redford’s co-star in “Truth,” is no slouch. “Truth” reassesses the firing of Dan Rather, played by Redford, over a “60 Minutes” story on George W. Bush’s alleged military service — a report whose veracity was quickly, and perhaps sloppily, called into question. Blanchett plays Mary Mapes, the segment’s producer, who went down with Rather. Rather is still considered evil by some, and some have assumed this would be a simple exoneration of him and Mapes. But when you watch it, it’s

Cate Blanchett’s Mary Mapes confers with Robert Redford’s Dan Rather in “Truth,” out Friday, which tells of their downfall after a contested “60 Minutes” segment about George W. Bush’s military service. SONY PICTURES CLASSICS

clear the film’s position is that it’s complicated. Robert Redford: They made their mistakes. There’s one scene where they get reamed out. That’s terrific. That those flaws are in the film, that’s a good thing. Cate Blanchett: I don’t think it was [the director’s] nor the film’s ambition to exonerate them. They’re not held up as saints. It’s reopening the

closed book and saying, “Has this really been discussed? Have we really pulled this apart?” As things look bad for them, Mary unravels. She’s very human about it — and very grouchy too. Blanchett: I think she oscillated between rage and despair. It’s a journalist’s worst nightmare that some fact wasn’t fully

checked. Redford: And how hard it is to control yourself with those two emotions rolling around. Blanchett: And particularly for Dan, because he had to maintain a composure and dignity and self-respect in front of the camera. Whereas Mary is behind the camera, feeling for the man she reveres and admires and is deeply connected

to, feeling that somehow she’s responsible for his downfall. That is the biggest cross she bears. There’s also a sense of the toxicity of the political atmosphere — that as soon as you embark on analyzing politics or raising questions, it’s attack politics. You get shut down, not only from a professional standpoint but also personally. Once it enters your personal arena, it’s OK to go after your family and your sexuality and rumors — stupid stuff, like she and Dan were having an affair. I wish! [Laughs] Redford: That part’s been cut out of the film. It’s too bad. Blanchett: I like those sex GETTY scenes. I IMAGES thought they were necessary.

Redford on journalism This film has a lot say about what has changed in journalism since 2004. Robert Redford: Journalism is essential for society, as I do art. I can’t imagine a society without art. Journalism is, I think, vital, and somehow always under threat. If journalism threatens the powers that be, you have a problem.

Halloween Murder Mystery

Gypsy Danger improv horror

$30-$60; through Nov. 7 The Players Theatre 115 MacDougal St. Don’t let the title fool you, “Sleepy Hollow the Musical” is not a lighthearted romp through Washington Irving’s classic horror story. Two lovers taunt the wrong man in woods, becoming caught up in a mystical love triangle and trying to escape not just with their heads but their souls.

$25-$30; through Oct. 31 The Clemente, 107 Suffolk St. This year, Timothy Haskell isn’t opening Nightmare, one of the city’s most notorious haunted houses. Instead, he is “returning to my roots as a theater director in an attempt to create honest-to-goodness scary theater.” The result is “Nightmare: Horror Show,” a festival of seven hair-raising plays designed to make you question what seems ordinary.

$18; Oct. 23-Nov. 8 TBG Theatre 312 W. 36th St. “Yotsuya Ghost Tales” is a classic Japanese kabuki play, but this production has been fused with “Macbeth” to become “Ghost Light: The Haunting,” about a successful actress who returns from the dead seeking vengeance against her showbiz husband after “the Scottish play” puts them at odds.

$25; Oct. 23-24 Mount Vernon Hotel Museum, 421 E. 61st St. A skeleton has been found at a hotel, and it’s up to visitors to figure out who the victim was, how they died and who killed them. Search for clues by candlelight to test your Sherlock Holmes skills or team up with other guests to solve the Halloween Murder Mystery.

$10; Oct. 30 The Striker, 123 E. 24th St. Great horror films are about more than quick scares, buckets of blood and an eerie soundtrack. They can’t be improvised — or can they? On the night before Halloween, Gypsy Danger will create a one-hour production that they promise will have you “screaming … with laughter!”

“Hocus Pocus” in the style of Wes Anderson $10; Oct. 31 The Striker, 123 E, 24th St. The Wes Anderson Players think all of Hollywood could use the quirky director’s touch, and they’ve been remaking pop culture hits like “When Harry Met Sally” and “Jurassic Park” in his style. This Halloween, they’re taking on the already campy classic “Hocus Pocus.”

Basque in glory in northern Spain

The cities of northern Spain have much to offer tourists in terms of art, culture, history and, of course, traditional Basque cuisine. You’d be forgiven for thinking that the only thing that ever happens in Pamplona is the running of the bulls through the streets during the weeklong Festival of San Fermin each July. But Pamplona is one of several exciting cities in the northeast corner of Spain that have just as much to offer as the better known southern cities. San Sebastian, an easy hour’s drive north of Pamplona, is one of the most popular holiday resorts for Spaniards but is less known to overseas travelers. In 2016, that will change when San Sebastian becomes

a European Capital of Culture, alerting the outside world to its many attractions. Beyond its wonderful beach curving around the Bahia de La Concha is the historic Old Town with ancient churches and the Museo San Telmo (Santelmomuseoa.com). If you want to find out about the Basque culture of this part of Spain, this museum, set in an old monastery, is an absorbing delight. An hour west along the coast is Bilbao, the largest Basque city, with its wealth of museums. The most notable is the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (Guggenheim-bilbao. es/en), looking just as futuristic and striking now as it did when it opened in 1997. It concentrates on modern art with work by artists including Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko and Jeff Koons, but it also displays the work of Basque artists. Notable too is the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, dating from 1908, with works from Goya, El Greco, Gauguin, Cezanne, Francis

Bacon and more. A two-hour drive through the dramatic, mountainous Parque Natural Aizkorri-Aratz takes you back to Pamplona, capital of the Navarre region. Founded in Roman times, it is as bustling and buzzing as any modern Spanish city, with cafes and tapas bars serving Basque

food. It has medieval walls, a vast main plaza, an impressive Gothic cathedral, a fascinating old town, churches and museums, including the must-see Museo de Navarra. Avoid the bulls, and feast instead on the culture. INSIGHT GUIDES | MIKE GERRARD AND DONNA DAILEY

European Capitals of Culture

In 1983, Melina Mercouri, a Greek minister of culture and former actress, came up with the idea of designating one European city to be the City of Culture each year. Now they’re called Capitals of Culture, and two cities share the honor. Start planning your travels, as the cities put on their best face with new museums, special exhibitions and one-off events. 2015 It’s not too late to

visit Mons in Belgium or Pilsen in the Czech Republic (known for the beer Pilsner Urquell). 2016 Sharing duties with San Sebastian will be Wroclaw in Poland, recently voted one of the world’s best cities to live in. 2017 The Cultural Capitals will be Denmark’s second city, Aarhus, and Paphos on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus.

In search of a West Coast win The Mets need to win one more time in Los Angeles to advance to the 2015 NLCS.

Slide-pocalypse Don’t be surprised to see Chase Utley in the Dodgers’ lineup Thursday night now that the series has shifted back to LA. Utley was allowed to play for the Dodgers in Games 3 and 4 at Citi Field but was likely benched due to safety reasons given the tenor of the Mets’ crowd following the injury to Ruben Tejada.

ROBERT CRISCOLA @ItsGood2BeKing sports@metro.us

In 2006 the Mets beat the Dodgers to advance to the NLCS, their last playoff series win to date. Nearly a decade later, the Mets have a chance to repeat history. Los Angeles will be the locale for Thursday’s decisive Game 5 (TBS, 8 p.m.) between the Mets and Dodgers, with the winner advancing to play the Chicago Cubs in the NLCS, which begins on Saturday. The starting pitchers for this do-or-die contest will be New York’s Jacob deGrom and LA’s Zack Greinke. deGrom started Game 1 of this series and put up an impressive line in the Mets’ 3-1 victory; seven innings pitched, five hits, one walk, and 13 strikeouts with no runs allowed. DeGrom will be pitching on five days rest, which is a bit of a concern as he allows opponents a .230 batting average on extra rest as opposed to a .183 batting average on regular rest. DeGrom will have to pay close attention to

Michael Conforto and the Mets are seeking one more win at Dodger Stadium on Thursday night. GETTY IMAGES

Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner, who got two hits off him in Game 1 and is batting .467 in this series. Adrian Gonzalez, who has been swinging a hot bat lately as well (.313 with a home run and five RBIs this series), was 0 for 3 against deGrom in Game 1. Gonzalez does own prior success against deGrom, though; he was 3 for 8 with two home runs and five RBIs against

deGrom before Friday night’s game. Greinke starts Game 5 on regular rest, and he was 11-1 with a 1.06 ERA in the regular season when he was allowed the conventional four days between starts. Greinke put up a solid line in his team’s Game 2 victory, going seven innings while allowing two runs on five hits and striking out eight. Both of those runs came

off solo homers, one by Yoenis Cespedes and the other by Michael Conforto — in the only game he’s started in this series. David Wright had a dreadful Game 2, going 0 for 3 against Greinke while grounding into two double plays (his other AB was a strikeout). Wright has walked five times in four games but has just one hit, albeit a clutch hit in Game 1 that drove in the game-

winning run. Curtis Granderson recorded two hits off Greinke in Game 2 and has been stellar all series long, batting .429 with five RBIs. Wilmer Flores will start his third game of the series; he did not face Greinke in Game 2 as Ruben Tejada was the starting shortstop before he was injured in a controversial play at second base involving Chase Utley in the seventh inning

of Game 2. Flores is 3 for 8 against Greinke all time. Ninth-inning drama has been hard to come by as both teams’ closers have been excellent in this series. Jeurys Familia of the Mets has yet to allow a hit in 3.1 innings of work, while Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen has held the Mets hitless in 2.1 innings.

Montreal is only the third team in NHL history to open a season with four straight road wins. It’s just October, but the Habs are pretty hot.

Nashville hasn’t scored many goals yet (7), but when you allow less than one a game (2), it’s easy to pile up the points. The Central still looks like the gold standard in the NHL.

The Eastern Conference champs opened up with three straight wins before running out of steam in Detroit. They still look like the class of their respective conference.

Given their propensity to choke in the playoffs, this seems like a bit of a mirage, but you have to admit that Vancouver has looked pretty good thus far.

It’s a small sample size here but the Wild appear to be a quality team once again. Zach Parise opened with a hat trick in their crazy 5-4 comeback victory in Colorado.

Similar to Montreal, San Jose is basically off to a perfect start. The Sharks have scored 12 goals and have only allowed one coming off a 5-0 shutout in D.C. on Tuesday.

The Red Wings picked up one of the most impressive wins of the young season by beating Tampa Bay, 3-1, Tuesday. Detroit has allowed four goals in its first three games.

After losing to the Rangers on opening night, the defending champs have bounced back with two wins in a row. They should remain in this upper echelon all season.

The Rangers were also 3-0 before they got humbled by Winnipeg on Tuesday. They are at Montreal on Thursday in an early season showdown.

Given that they haven’t played a home game yet this season, the Jets are off to a fantastic start. Their 4-1 win at Madison Square Garden Tuesday showed they are no fluke.

So far the Islanders have been the only team to beat the Jets as they picked up a 4-2 victory on Columbus Day at home. They play Nashville and San Jose this week.

Get In The Game! NOT DRAFTED?

NO PROBLEM

FANTASY SPORTS

ADAM LEVITAN alevitan@metro.us

Talent is our top priority when drafting our season-long teams. If we just chase opportunity, we end with #regrets like Davante Adams and C.J. Anderson. But now that we’re six weeks into the season, we can start looking more at opportunity when prioritizing transactions. The talented guys aren’t available, and big volume with mediocre talent can work well. We also now know which teams are going to be playing from behind a majority of the time, which often bodes well for certain kinds of players. So ignore the undrafted stigma and hop on board with these relative unknowns:

The need for Snead Willie Snead wasn’t even supposed to make the Saints’ final roster coming out of camp. Now he’s their No. 1 receiver. It’s not because of injury, it’s because he’s earned it with reliably excellent play for four straight months. With Brandin Cooks getting exposed as a complementary player, Marques Colston toast/hurt and Brandon Coleman disappointing, Snead is Drew Brees’ go-to guy. Although this pass game isn’t what it once was, that’s still a big role. Willie should be penned into lineups going forward.

Go West, young man Charcandrick West outsnapped Knile Davis 18-4 following Jamaal Charles’ knee injury in Week 5. West also ran circles around Davis in the preseason, winning the backup job and

Week 6 studs A look at players who you should add to your roster this week: Christine Michael, RB, Cowboys — Dallas is reportedly considering starting C-Mike over Joseph Randle following their bye. Gary Barnidge, TE, Browns — Flew under the radar for far too long. Actually a very good athlete in a pass-happy offense. Golden Tate, WR, Lions — It’s an ideal spot for the dormant Lions offense to break out against the Bears and get Tate his first TD of the year. John Brown, WR, Cardinals — Expect Brown to set a new season-high for yards as Carson Palmer shreds the talent-deficient Steelers secondary this week.

holding it through the first month of the season. The Chiefs worked

out free agents Ben Tate, Pierre Thomas and Bryce Brown this week, but didn’t sign any of them. It’s another vote of confidence in West, who plays well in the pass game — a crucial tool for Andy Reid as evidenced by the likes of Charles and former Eagle Brian Westbrook. Don’t be afraid to blow 70-80 percent of your FAAB budget on West.

Mr. Wilson’s neighborhood Marquess Wilson is the real deal. Finally adding bulk to his 6-foot-4 frame, he’s recorded a 12-165-1 line over the last two weeks while Alshon Jeffery (calf ) has sat out. Even once Jeffery returns, Wilson has significant appeal in this mess of a Bears season. Expect plenty of three-wide sets, with Wilson as the downfield target and Eddie Royal underneath. The Bears must develop their young talent.
