Plan ahead: T’s holiday schedule Thanksgiving is one of the most traveled holidays in America, and that means the T has all kinds of changes planned. The schedules may be a little confusing, and that is before the riders flood the platforms and bus stops between Wednesday and Friday. “With the exception of Silver Line service to Logan Airport, ridership across all MBTA modes is light to moderate during the annual Thanksgiving period,” MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said in a statement. “Extra service is added to the Silver Line to accommodate customers traveling to/from the airport.” That said, don’t be a turkey: Plan your travels accordingly. To accommodate customers traveling to and from Logan Airport, the Silver Line 1 will add service through Monday, Nov. 30.

Help Metro make magic Please donate to the Metro Magic annual holiday toy drive during the 2015 holiday season. In keeping with the holiday spirit of giving, Metro is once again launching Tony’s Metro Magic, our annual toy drive for underprivileged children in Boston, New York and Philadelphia. This year marks the seventh
anniversary of the toy drive, which was renamed in memory of the man who oversaw the project for more than four years, Tony Metcalf, Metro’s longest-running editor-in-chief. Mr. Metcalf passed away in 2013 from colon cancer at the age of 50. Mr. Metcalf lit up every year as he saw the faces of children unwrap their holiday
gifts. It is our goal to keep that magic alive. We are now asking readers to contribute what they can to Tony’s Metro Magic. Metro has created a wish list at the Target website that readers can access by going to www.metro.us and clicking on the Tony’s Metro Magic logo. From there, just choose the toys you wish to donate, pay online using Target’s secure
payment system, and your gifts, along with your name attached, will be delivered to Metro’s oďŹƒces in each city. This season, we hope you will remember the children who will spend the holidays in shelters or who may not have gifts to open. Even one small gift can make a big dierence in a child’s holiday season. METRO

BRIEF Ex-Chelsea cop pleads guilty to beating handcued suspect A former Chelsea police oďŹƒcer admitted to punching a person in custody and lying about the circumstances of his arrest, Suolk County District Attorney Dan Conley announced. Felix Rivera of Lynn pleaded guilty to assault and battery and ďŹ ling a false report on Tuesday. Suolk Superior Court Judge Peter Krupp continued that charge without a ďŹ nding over prosecutors’ objections. If Rivera stays away from the victim, takes part in an anger management program, and undergoes a mental health evaluation and any treatment deemed necessary, the court will dismiss that charge in two years. Chelsea cops responded to
155 Chestnut Street that night for a report of a man with a gun on Sept. 26, 2014. The victim was at the scene, and appeared drunk, according to police, and was arrested for allegedly interfering with the investigation, Conley said. But as the handcued man was being escorted away, Rivera punched him four times in the face, knocking him to the ground. Another oďŹƒcer reached out to stop him, Conley said. That oďŹƒcer, who prosecutors did not name, denied the allegation in Rivera’s report that the victim had put up a ďŹ ght while being led from the scene. “We maintain that a felony conviction was appropriate to these facts,â€? Conley said in a statement. “This wasn’t police work. It was criminal conduct.â€? METRO

Cambridge make-out party to explore bedroom boundaries A Boston group is hosting an interactive meet-up on sexual consent. SPENCER BUELL @MetroBOS
spencer.buell@metro.us
A local group is inviting you to keep your mind — and your mouth — open this weekend at an interactive meet-up on giving and receiving consent during hookups. Billed as a way to get people more comfortable talking about boundaries in the bedroom, Boston-based Pleasure Pie on Sunday is hosting a “Consent is Sexy Make Out Party.” Those who signed up (it’s already sold out) can expect a group discussion on healthy sexual encounters, followed by some role-playing: Everyone will be invited to ask, and be asked, if they consent to a kiss. Everyone is encouraged to say “no” at least once, as practice for the real thing, when it can be awkward or uncomfortable to speak up. “Sometimes just talking about that stuff, it can be hard to translate it into when you’re actually in a sexual situation,” said Nicole Mazzeo, Pleasure
Pie’s 24-year-old creator. “We want to help people to think about the ways to say ‘no’ they could see themselves using, and then try it out on a real person.” Teaching people about sex in unusual ways has become a mission for Mazzeo, who hosts a monthly group discussion on sex-positivity, has sold hundreds of copies of a ’zine called “Choose Your Own Consensual Adven-
not a sex party,” according to an official list of rules. Although she doesn’t expect any issues, Mazzeo said she’ll be keeping watch over the crowd and intervening if necessary. She also ordered a big bag of mints, for breath reasons. Everyone taking part also had to fill out a questionnaire designed to gauge their intentions, and organizers made clear that signing up does not guarantee everyone a make-out session. “It’s not just a freef o r - a l l ,” said Sarah Goshman, a Pleasure Pie volunteer and event co-organizer. It is, however, a fun idea that’s likely to get people thinking, Goshman said, and not just about stopping unwanted sex, but also about getting the most out of getting physical. “I’m really hoping that we’re going to go beyond the standard ‘yes is yes and no is no’ and really talk about what emotions are tied up around asking for what we want,” Goshman said. The event kicks off on Sunday at The Democracy Center in Cambridge. Mazzeo said she’s already planning a follow-up, which she plans to hold on Valentine’s Day.

For one, she said, any actual sex is off-limits, and clothing must remain on at all times. “For the record, we have no problem with sex parties, but this event is

Even though so many people there were wasted, Sofia was not at all,” a source says of the West Palm Beach, Florida, nuptials, according to Radar Online. “Either Sofia chose not to get drunk at the wedding out of respect for Joe” — who is 12 years sober — “or she is pregnant.” Well, then. Which do we think it is? The groom’s comments at the reception point to family planning: “Joe

Michael B. Jordan has taken hits on screen before. He spent two seasons on “Friday Night Lights,” where he had a double, though still did some of his own stunts. But that’s nothing compared to “Creed,” a spin-off and continuation of the “Rocky” saga, focused on Jordan’s Adonis, the illegitimate secret son of deceased fighter Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). Adonis may team up with Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky for a big fight, but Jordan — reuniting with his “Fruitvale Station” director Ryan Coogler — didn’t want to just do another “Rocky.” The duo wanted to make their own distinctive movie, that built off the legacy of a beloved franchise while building a future for

its own, new hero. Not only that, they wanted a studio film that feels as raw and interested in people as the movie that broke them through into the mainstream. Rocky is a Philadelphia institution. He’s huge. When you’re doing exterior scenes with [Stallone], there are hundreds of fans lined up on the side. After you yell cut they’re like, “Rocky! Sly!” It’s like, “Damn, the whole city is out here.” It’s consistent. They followed us around. Despite continuing an iconic film series, this still feels a lot like “Fruitvale Station.” Ryan has a unique take on people. He likes to see what they do when they’re alone, when they’re thinking. He lets scenes breathe. That’s not seen too often in cinema, that directors let characters have little moments. It doesn’t have to be dialogue-filled all the time. Sometimes two people sitting there in their own space is more interesting.
What Sly said Sylvester Stallone on his initial thoughts when filmmaker Ryan Coogler came to him with the idea of “Creed.” “No,” Stallone says. “No, no, no. Because it was such a struggle to get the last one done. I was so happy [‘Rocky Balboa’] was the conclusion of the ‘Rocky’ story. I thought we don’t need to go any further with it. And I dismissed the idea.” But Coogler was adamant. He kept coming back, over a year. “I thought, ‘My story is told, but there’s a whole other generation — two generations, since ‘Rocky’ started — whose story has not been told.’ Then I finally agreed to do it after I was shamed for my narrowmindedness.”
Are you still boxing? I’m still boxing. Got the knuckles to prove it. [Shows a bruise on his knuckles] That one’s kind of infected, actually. Got to do something about that. [Laughs] It’s like picking up a new craft, a new toy. You want to keep playing with it, keep experimenting with it. It’s cool to get back on the heavy bag, the speed bag, jump rope, go through some rounds on the pad. Just to stay sharp. It’s good cardio. It gives you discipline and focus. Exercise is a great release.

3 things to watch for as Pats face toughest test to date, in Denver Getting to 11-0 won’t be easy as the Pats face the NFL’s toughest defense Sunday.
valry has come to an abrupt finale — at least for this season Here are three things to look for Sunday night (8:30 p.m., NBC).
1
DENVER ‘D’
JAMES TOSCANO @Jimmy_Toscano sports@metro.us
It wasn’t pretty by any stretch of the imagination, but the Patriots walked off the Gillette Stadium field winners over the Bills on Monday night — and that makes them a perfect 10-0 heading into Sunday night’s game in Denver. Tom Brady will look to make it 11-0 against Peyton Mann ... check that, Brock Osweiler and the Denver Broncos. That’s right, folks. It appears we have reached the end of an era, as the Brady-Manning ri-
The last time Tom Brady and the Patriots played at Denver, they lost in the 2013 AFC Championship Game. GETTY IMAGES
Everybody loves to make it a matchup between the quarterbacks, but neither QB watches film of the other one leading up to the game. They’re watching the opposing defense, of course. And what Brady is going to see is one of the best defenses in the NFL. Denver is in a playoff position because of its defense, not its offense. Denver leads the NFL in yards allowed per game, at 284.3 — a good 20 yards less than the second-ranked Seahawks. That includes a pass defense allowing just 190.6 yards per
game. Add in the fact that half of Brady’s receivers are injured, and this is most likely going to be the offense’s biggest test of the regular season.
2BROCK WHO?
One of the perks of playing against a Peyton Manning team is the fact that Pats fans usually get to see the “Manning face” in the final minutes of the game. You know the one. But with Osweiler getting the start, it won’t happen this time. Osweiler made his first career start last week on the road against the Bears, throwing for 250 yards and two touchdowns in the win. The Broncos offense looked different than with Manning at QB, but it also looked better as a whole. Osweiler got
tight ends Owen Daniels and Vernon Davis involved (137 combined receiving yards) as well as the running backs — Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson (161 rushing yards). We already know what Demaryius Thomas is capable of, and Emmanuel Sanders (high ankle sprain) is hopeful to return.
3
HOME FIELD
Yes, it’s still November, but a win in Denver could not only clinch the AFC East (an inevitability) but would also give New England a fourgame lead over the Broncos for one of the two top seeds in the AFC. The Pats are gunning for the No. 1 overall seed, but essentially locking up a first round bye so early would be highly impressive.
