A lock of singer John Lennon’s hair is expected to sell for more $10,000 when it is sold at auction later this month. Heritage Auctions, which is selling the hair of the late singer, said it was clipped and saved by a hairdresser in Germany in 1966. “To the best of our knowledge, this is the largest lock of Lennon’s hair ever sold at auction,” the auction house said in a statement. Attacks by “homegrown” terrorists are among the most imminent security threats facing the United States in 2016, along with dangers posed overseas by Islamic State and cybersecurity concerns, the top U.S. intelligence official said on Tuesday. In his annual assessment of threats to the United States, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper warned that fast-moving cyber and technological advances “could lead to widespread vulnerabilities in civilian infrastructures and U.S. government systems.” REUTERS

That’s definitely on the prohibited items list. A pair of Bronx residents were arrested early Monday morning after they were found with razors hidden in their clothes as they went through security, authorities said. According to NBC, 40-year-old Miguel Munoz and 18-year-old Lizbeth Esteras were taken into custody as the two attempted to board a flight to Miami at about 5:30 a.m. at LaGuardia Airport. Ten people were killed and at least 81 injured on Tuesday when two passenger trains collided head-on at high speed in remote countryside in southern Germany. One passenger was still missing, police said, and 18 of those injured were in serious condition. The crash happened during the morning rush-hour about half way along a 4-mile stretch between the spa town of Bad Aibling and Kolbermoor in Bavaria, near the border with Austria. REUTERS

NY TOWER SELLS FOR $1.9B

Calpers has purchased a New York office tower for $1.9 billion, in one of the biggest real estate investments in its history, the Sacramento Bee newspaper reported on Tuesday. Calpers confirmed to Reuters that it had purchased 787 Seventh Avenue in midtown Manhattan but did not disclose the purchase price. The purchase of the 50-story AXA Equitable Center comes as the largest U.S. pension focuses on buying real estate that already generated revenue rather than speculative development deals, the paper said. BRIEFS Men punch, hit victim with glass bottle during Bronx robbery Police are looking for one of two suspects they said attacked a man in the Bronx over the weekend with a glass bottle before robbing him. On Feb. 6 at about 11:45 p.m., two suspects approached a 50-year-old man near Lawrence Avenue and East 172nd Street while he was outside his taxi, cops said.

After a brief argument, one of the suspects hit the victim in the face with a glass bottle and the other punched the man on the side of his head, according to authorities. Once the victim fell to the floor, one of the two men removed his jacket which contained $1,000, police said. The suspects then fled on foot west on East 172nd Street. Police have released video and photos of one of the

suspects who they describe as a Hispanic man, between 20 to 25 years old, 5-feet-9, 200 pounds, with a goatee and hair in a ponytail. He was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket, gray hooded sweater, dark colored baseball

cap, light colored jeans and black sneakers. Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577. ANGY ALTAMIRANO

DA: Gurley shooting ‘no accident’ There were conflicting accounts at a NYPD officer’s trial for shooting a black man. Prosecutors told a jury yesterday that the fatal shooting of an unarmed black man by a New York police officer was not an accident, as dramatically different accounts of the incident were heard at the close of his criminal trial. Officer Peter Liang faces charges of manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and other counts in the death of Akai Gurley, 28, who was struck in the chest by Liang’s bullet after it careened off a wall in the pitch-black stairwell of a Brooklyn public housing complex on Nov. 20, 2014. Liang testified that a loud sound startled him as he entered the stairwell, causing his finger to slip onto the trigger and fire inadvertently. But Assistant District Attorney Joseph Alexis said Liang recklessly discharged his weapon toward the source of the noise. Liang’s defense lawyer, Robert Brown, performed his own demonstration, pulling the trigger of the gun while mimicking an involuntary start. “The slightest flinch, and that gun can go off,” Brown said. Gurley’s death added fuel to nationwide protests over police treatment of minorities, although Liang, a Chinese-American, is not accused of deliberately killing Gurley. Prosecutors, however, have said Liang initially refused to call in the shot and then failed to render CPR to Gurley, who lay

bleeding to death. During his closing argument, Alexis also said the noise could only have been caused by another person in the unlit stairwell. “I think it’s clear to all of you that he knew that someone was there,” Alexis said. That assertion appeared to go significantly further than the prosecution’s previous arguments. Brown argued that Liang had no idea anyone was in the stairwell and that he followed his training at all times, drawing his weapon but keeping his finger off the trigger and the gun pointed downward. Both sides seemed wary of the emotions surrounding the national debate over police tactics. Brown cautioned that “policing in America is not on trial,” while Alexis told the jurors that convicting Liang “is not a conviction of the New York City Police Department.” REUTERS

“He put his finger on the trigger of the gun, he pointed his gun directly at where the sound was and he fired. It’s no accident.” Alexis

man trafficking. The visas — created in 2000 as part of the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act — would allow victims to stay in the country during an investigation and could also provide a path to legal permanent residence. This effort hopes to encourage undocumented immigrants — of which 535,000 call New York City their home — to report crimes, which oftentimes go unreported due to fear of deportation. The U visa allows undocumented victims of crime to temporarily remain in the country for up to four years while helping law enforcement in investigations and prosecutions. It also gives the individuals the chance to work legally and get on the path to legal permanent residence. Crimes that qualify for a U visa include rape, torture, trafficking, incest, stalking, domestic violence, sexual assault, abusive sexual contact, prostitution, extortion and sexual exploitation. The T visa only applies to victims who have been trafficked into the country and allows them to remain in the U.S. for up to three years to assist in investiga-

tions. This visa could also provide the path to permanent residency. Crimes that qualify for a T visa are limited to sex trafficking and labor trafficking. “It’s important that the NYC Commission on Human Rights pays attention to these cases, where immigrants like me are abused by employers or by others, and certify U visas, said U visa applicant Enriqueta Luna. “I suffered sexual harassment and other types of abuse from my employer, and this happens to many others throughout the city. It’s important that our rights be protected, and that immigrants know that they can come forward when they suffer this type of abuse. Currently federal law allows federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to issue U or T visa certifications. The first step in obtaining a visa is receiving certification by a law enforcement agency. Applicants must submit their certification to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services for approval. A total of 10,000 U visas and 5,000 T visas are available per fiscal year, according to authorities.

“All New Yorkers deserve fair, equal and just protection under the law. We must stand up for the rights of all our brothers and sisters, and make our city safer by encouraging collaboration. De Blasio

Once completed, Court Square City View Tower will reportedly be one of the tallest buildings in the borough. ANGY ALTAMIRANO @MetroNewYork letters@metro.us

Developers are planning to bring a massive residential tower to the Queens skyline — expected to be one of the tallest in the borough, according to reports. United Construction and Development Group filed plans over the weekend for a 778,000-squarefoot building that will be erected at 23-15 44th Drive in Long Island City, The Real Deal reported. The 963-foot-tall residential tower — called Court Square City View Tower — is expected to be made up of 774 apartments in 759,00-squarefoot residential space, and also feature 20,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floors, according to a permit application. The number of apartments will vary per floor, according to The Real

Deal, as they each increase in size. There will be 32 units on the fifth floor and 24 units on the sixth floor, while there will be 11 units per floor from the eighth to 60th floors. Floors 76 through 78 will each only have three apartments. According to New York YIMBY, the tower — which will be built on a site purchased from Citigroup for $143 million last year — is 330 feet taller than Citigroup’s 50-story One Court Square building. Once completed, Court Square City View Tower is expected to be one of the tallest buildings in Queens. It will also include 225 parking spots. The plans filed on Saturday by Flushing developer Chris Xu are bigger dimensions than originally announced. Based on a description on the company’s website, the tower was initially said to be 78 stories high and have 660 luxury residential units and 100,000 square feet of commercial space. The project — which will be handled by architect firm Goldstein, Hill & West Architects — is expected to break ground in 2017.

Things have not been easy for the bookshop, which was forced from its 31 Third Ave. location, then evicted from its current spot, 138 East Third St. “They ran into too many bad things happening all at once and they could not get out from under it,” attorney James West, who represents the shop, told BedfordAndBowery.com. “It started with the move and this new economic environment. quitting Fibroids? Americans their jobs as labor

market strengthens

Prolonged Menstrual Cycles

Lower Back Pain

U.S. job openings surged in December and the number of Americans voluntarily quitting work hit a nine-year high, pointing to labor market strength despite a slowdown in economic growth. A total of 3.1 million Americans quit their jobs in December, the highest number since December 2006. That pushed the quits rate to 2.1 percent — the highest level since April 2008. The signs of a robust jobs market could ease concerns about the health of the economy, which were underscored by other reports Tuesday showing a drop in small business confidence in January to a two-year low and further declines

in wholesale inventories. “If the labor market is tightening, can the economy really be faltering?â€? said Joel Naroff, chief economist at Naroff Economic Advisors in Holland, Pennsylvania. Job openings, a measure of labor demand, increased 261,000 to a seasonally adjusted 5.61 million in December, the Labor Department said in its monthly Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS). It was the second-highest reading since the series started in 2001. The so-called JOLTS report is among the data watched by Federal Reserve officials to get a pulse on both the labor market and inflation. The increase lifted the

Obama proposes $4.1 trillion spending plan in final budget The budget for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1 is largely political and is unlikely to be passed by Congress. President Barack Obama proposed a $4.1 trillion spending plan for fiscal year 2017 on Tuesday in a final White House budget that laid out his priorities for fighting Islamic State, raising taxes on wealthy Americans and helping the poor. But it gives the Democratic president, who leaves office in January, a chance to make a last pitch for funding on issues such as education, criminal justice reform and job creation while taking credit for eco-

nomic strides during his tenure. The spending proposal stayed within the confines of an agreement reached between the White House and Congress last year that lifted mandatory “sequestration” cuts on both defense and domestic spending. It proposes lifting the limits entirely from 2018.

“My budget makes critical investments while adhering to the bipartisan budget agreement I signed into law last fall,” Obama wrote in the budget document. “It also drives down deficits and maintains our fiscal progress through smart savings from health care, immigration, and tax reforms.” The proposed budget envisions a deficit of $503 billion in fiscal 2017 after a $616 billion budget gap in the current fiscal year ending on Sept. 30. It seeks to cut deficits by $2.9 trillion over 10 years largely through shrunken tax breaks for wealthy earners, new savings in Medicare healthcare and assumptions that adoption of its policies would boost economic growth. Flint mayor vows to Peripheral Artery replace pipes, seeks Disease help with $55M tab Peripheral Artery Disease

The mayor of Flint, Michigan, which is struggling to cope with dangerous levels of lead in its drinking water, said on Tuesday the city would replace all residents’ pipes and was counting on state and federal help to foot the estimated $55 million bill. The city of some 100,000 people was under the control of a state-appointed emergency manager in 2014 when it switched its source of water from Detroit’s municipal system to the Flint River to save money. That move has provoked a national controversy and prompted several lawsuits by parents who say their

By Matt Edgar America’s Health Writer New York City - Everyone has said it at one time or another. If I had only known about “this” sooner - things would be very different today. That’s what many knee arthritis pain sufferers are saying about this technology and treatment. “We all know that countless lives are being saved every year because of early detection and better treatment of cancer,” noted the clinic director at the OsteoRelief Institute in New York City. “The same holds true for treating knee arthritis pain. I believe we are having so much success at OsteoRelief Institute because of two factors: One is we are using advanced medical technology and treatments a lot of clinics do not use. And second, the word has spread to our community and so many knee arthritis sufferers are coming in sooner. And the earlier we can treat knee arthritis - the better the results. The key to avoiding knee replacement surgery is doing the correct treatments as soon as possible.” What is the “correct treatment?” “That depends,” said the director. “There is no one answer when it comes to medical conditions and knee arthritis is no different. That’s why, if you have knee pain, you should have it evaluated by a doctor who deals with and treats knee pain every day,” added the director. For many knee arthritis pain sufferers the right treatments is viscosupplementation. In this treatment, a preparation of Hyaluronic acid (such as Hyalgan) is injected directly into the knee joint. Hyaluronic acid is a natural lubricant and shock absorber of your joints and is found to be decreased in arthritis sufferers. This is similar to running your car low or without oil. Obviously, the sooner you put oil back in the car - the less damage will be done. That’s why some doctors feel early viscosupplementation gets the best results and is so important for avoiding surgery.

the artist simulated drawings above, picture #1 is a normal, pain-free knee. There is no arthritis and the knee can move and bend freely without pain.

Everyone Wants Proof: In

Successful Treatment - Hyalgan (blue) being precisely injected directly into the knee joint using laser guided hologic imaging. Advanced imaging allows treatments to be as precise as possible. Hyalgan can lubricate the joint and decrease pain.

(and Hyalgan) misses the joint space. Research shows this occurs up to 30% of the time without the use of laser guided hologic imaging to guide the injection. This is why Hyalgan may not have worked for you.

Failed Treatment - the injection

requiring months of rehabilitation. Some doctors think modern treatments done early enough can keep baby boomers from going under the knife.

Can This Be Avoided? Total knee replacement is serious surgery

Pain - the red is a knee joint with painful osteo-arthritis. Arthritis causes the joint space to decrease, grinding, stiffness, decreased motion, bone spurs, swelling and a lot of pain.

The director, believes one of the most important factors for the success of viscosupplementation is making sure you are getting it into the joint space. That’s why the doctors at OsteoRelief Institute use advanced imaging technology called a “C-Arm.” A C-Arm allows the doctor to see into the joint and actually watch the injection go where it is supposed to. Research shows that performing injections without digital imaging can result in missing the joint space as much as 30% of the time. If you had viscosupplementation treatments without advanced imagining and did not get good results - this may be why. “If you have knee arthritis pain, viscosupplementation might be the answer you are looking for. The keys are to not wait, get a good evaluation from an expert and make sure advanced digital imaging (C-Arm) is used to make sure you have the best chance for success.”

Doctors say these two factors are the keys to knee arthritis treatment success and relieving pain without surgery

Can Baby Boomers Avoid Knee Surgery With Modern Arthritis Treatments?

Why You Should Try This Even If You’ve Already Had Similar Treatments Without Results... “We have been able to help so many knee pain sufferers - even many who have already tried other injections like Synvisc, Supartz, Orthovisc and even Hyalgan. We use special and very advanced advanced low dose video flouroscopy imaging called “Hologic Digital Imaging” so we can see right into the joint. This allows us to put the Viscosupplementation exactly where is needs to be. Studies show doctors doing joint injections without flouroscopy miss the joint up to 30% of the time.” said the director of Arthritis Treatment at Osteorelief Institute. OsteoRelief Institute is a state of the art medical facility offering only the best technology. “Every case is individual. Some patients get quite a bit of relief right away - others take a little more time. But most have been extremely happy. We’ve noted results lasting no less than 6 months for many but up to 2 years for some patients.. Patients who were suffering for years with bad knee pain are getting their lives back... going for walks again and exercising. It’s amazing to see. They tell all their friends - that’s why we are swarmed. I can’t tell you how many patients have cancelled their total knee replacement surgeries.” added the director.

can only get this from a doctor and it often helps knee pain sufferers who got limited or no success from glucosamine and chondroitin. Beware of unsubstantiated claims made by supplements to do what this advanced medical procedure does.

If you answered yes to any of these questions give OsteoRelief Institute a call and schedule your no obligation knee pain screening 800-227-KNEE (5633).

Do you have pain and osteoarthritis (arthritis) of the knee? Have you tried other treatments such as NSAIDS and other anti-inflamatory medications without success? Have you already tried viscosupplementation (HyaIgan, Suparz, Synvisc) without satisfactory results?

C-arm allows doctors to see directly into the knee joint so treatments are precise and the Hyalgan actually goes where it is supposed to. Studies show that injections done without digital imaging can miss the joint up to 30% of the time. This is one reason Hyalgan or other Viscosupplementation may not have worked for you. OsteoRelief Institute uses this C-arm for every Hyalgan treatment.

Advanced Medical Technology Can Make All The Difference: This advanced digital imaging called a

Your no obligation screening will only take about 25-30 minutes... you will get all your questions answered and leave knowing if you have possibly found the solution to your knee pain. And here’s something really important How To Get I - Viscosupplementation treatments are covered If you have knee pain, the director would Can Supplements Do The Same Thing? like to invite you for a no obligation screening by most insurance and medicare. To schedule No. Glucosamine and chondroitin and to see if you are a candidate for Hyalgan your no obligation screening or if you have any questions call 800-227-KNEE (5633). other supplements are much different. You treatments.

Like “Joint Oil” Viscosupplementation works so well because it is like ‘joint oil.” It is a natural substance that contains one of the natural building blocks of the synovial fluid that lubricates your knee. Scientists and researchers discovered this natural building block to synovial fluid in the rooster’s comb - that big red thing on top of the roosters head. It is extracted from the roosters comb, purified and concentrated. When it is injected directly into your knee joint, it is like squirting oil on a rusty door hinge. Viscosupplementation allows your joints to glide more smoothly eliminating a lot of the rubbing, grinding and pain.

If you qualify for this treatment, it might be one of the happiest days of your life. That’s because, for the past year and a half, hundreds of knee pain sufferers have flocked to OsteoRelief Institute New York City. That’s when their specially trained-doctors added Hyalgan treatments to their already successful comprehensive knee pain relief program. Viscosupplementation is unique because - even-though it is manufactured by a pharmaceutical company, it is NOT considered a drug because it is a natural substance with an incredible story. Why So Many Want It You see, when you suffer with arthritis - the lubricating fluid (synovial fluid) in your knee joint dries up. This means instead of gliding smoothly your bones start to rub and grind against each other. This causes a little pain in the beginning - but over time the pain steadily gets worse until it is excruciating.

Knee pain sufferers have limited time to claim knee pain screening to see if all-natural knee arthritis treatment might work for them

Nick Jonas isn’t spending V-Day with Lily Collins Speculation continues to swirl about just how close Nick Jonas and rumored fling Lily Collins are, but apparently they will not be spending Valentine’s Day together. To hear Jonas tell it, he doesn’t have any plans at all for the romantic day — mainly because he just plain doesn’t have time for them. “It’s right before the Grammys, so there’s a lot of stuff happening in L.A., so I’ve got to concentrate,” he tells E! News. And right after that? “I’ve got a film” — the Sundance hit “Goat” — “at the Berlin Film Festival, so I’ve got to hop over there.” Valentine’s Day is just going to have to wait this year. And as for Collins, when “Entertainment Tonight” asked Jonas to comment on the rumors that the two were dating, he slyly replied, “I can’t at all. At all,” and then flashed a peace sign and a smile. Hmm, so don’t feel too bad for the guy.

The awards season circuit comes with a lot of its own unique, uncomfortable trials, as first-time Oscar-nominee Brie Larson is learning. Like, for instance, discussing your personal life, no matter how painful. Proving she’s a natural and a champ, the “Room” star gamely opened up about her parents’ divorce to Elle magazine — and about how she hasn’t spoken to her dad for a decade. “When legally I didn’t have to have visitation with him anymore, I jumped on it,”

But he didn’t do himself any favors. “I don’t think he ever really wanted to be a parent,” she continues. “It wasn’t until truly recently that I realized that’s why so much of my work was so volatile.” She handled that one quite well, I think. We’ve got our first breathless account of sordid behavior by the late David Bowie almost exactly a month after his passing. But at least this one is a classic. In news that will come as no surprise to hard-core Bowie fans, his former bodyguard says

the “Rebel Rebel” singer engaged in some pretty libidinous escapades with pal Mick Jagger — plus some guest stars — back in the 1970s. But hey, it was the ’70s after all. Former bodyguard Stuart George recounts a particularly sordid evening involving Bowie, Jagger

and an unnamed female singer in Bowie’s dressing room. “David told me to wait outside and make sure they weren’t disturbed,” George tells the Mirror. “[Russian ballet star] Rudolf Nureyev was partying with them but spotted them sneaking off and wanted to join in and said, ‘I have to be in there.’ I politely said, ‘No.’ I was under orders. David, Mick and the woman were in the closet for 20 minutes and came out with big smiles. It was obvious what had been going on.” I mean, would you have turned him down?

Matt Smith has a secret The former “Doctor Who star did a twist on a beloved character for “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. NED EHRBAR @Nedrick

ned.ehrbar@metro.us

While he’s earned a laugh or two during his harrowing adventures as “Doctor Who, British actor Matt Smith hasn’t really taken on the part of comic relief. “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies shows us what we’ve been missing. And Smith, 33, lets us in on a dark secret hidden with his befuddled Parson Collins, and it involves Mr. Darcy.

GETTY IMAGES

Were you familiar with the book before this? No, I wasn’t, no.

I went back and read them both when I got the part, but I’d never read it. In England as well, it’s on the literature list in some schools, but I guess in its original format it’s not a book that would ever really appeal to me. Suddenly you throw zombies into it and you get slightly more appealing to my taste buds. The joke of the book works better as a movie, I think. It does lend itself to film, doesn’t it? And also there’s a zombie culture in film at the moment, isn’t there? For better or worse. But adding the zombies, suddenly the Bennet sisters talking about which husband they’re going to marry, to me the stakes of it become more interesting. There’s a zombie apocalypse outside and they’re still talking about which husband they’re going to marry, do you know what I mean? And as an actor it allows you

The women having pretty badass ďŹ ghting skills makes it feel a bit more equal, but this is still a patriarchal world. It’s cool that the women are kind of kick-ass ninjas, isn’t it? There’s something kind of sexy about that. And it should be sexy, this film. I feel the Bennet sisters particularly are kind of sexy. You know, people get-

How was it approaching a character who is so much the comic relief? When I set out to do it, I thought it might be interesting if secretly he was in love with Mr. Darcy. So all the getting married is just about having to go through the manner and the period of the time and the fact that he’s a man of God and all that. He feels

obliged, but actually somewhere he’s secretly harboring this secret desire for someone else. It somehow made it more interesting to me that he was carrying this other secret. Because in that time period it can’t have been easy, either, a man of the clergy and all that. So it makes him a certain way. I just tried to be bold with it, and I thought, if you’re going to do it, actually the point is to try and reinvent it. That’s all I tried to do.

Yes, geeks watch ‘The Good Wife’ and here’s why During the Super Bowl, CBS announced there are only nine episodes of “The Good Wife” left.

If you guys read this column, you know I’m a geek. I watch geek TV, movies, read comic books and play video games. There aren’t a lot of nongeek things that grab my attention. I mean, there’s “Downton Abbey,” but enough geek sites cover it that I don’t feel like it’s too outside of my realm. The one thing I watch that really surprises everyone is “The Good Wife.” I’ve loved Julianna Margulies since she played Morgana in “The Mists of Avalon.” (It wasn’t a great miniseries, but she was wonderful.) The first commercials for “The Good Wife” didn’t exactly grab me though — a drama about the wife of a sleazy politician isn’t exactly something I care about. Then one day I was stuck at home sick and there was nothing else on. My Xbox wasn’t working, there were no “Big Bang Theory” reruns. I landed on “The Good Wife.” I was riveted. I couldn’t look away — the twists and turns, the incredible chemistry

It certainly didn’t feel that way. The performances were just mind-blowing. No one in my circle of geek friends believed I was watching it, but I was there every single Sunday. Even the guest stars were amazing — I’m looking at you, Michael J. Fox (who appeared enough to be more of a series regular) and Carrie Preston. I can’t stand legal dramas, and I still watched. THINGS TO DO

Valentine’s for everyone A week of lovethemed events await. EVA KIS @thisiskis

eva.kis@metro.us

Whether you’re looking for love or found the only other weirdo who could possibly appreciate you, Valentine’s Day should be about more than sitting at a restaurant overpaying for oysters (that, let’s be real, don’t set the mood at all). Here are some lovethemed events that will get your juices flowing. Do a solid for a friend: Make up for all the gross behavior that couples slide into when it comes to their friends by presenting your most eligible BFF at Friends of Single People. An hour of mingling will let you feel out the field, then a live dating show will sort the new couples for the boozy afterparty. $5-$8, Feb. 10, 7 p.m., Littlefield, 622 Degraw St., Brooklyn Tweak your technique: The authors and columnists paid to figure out love, dating and relationships will tell it like it is at The Strand’s This Is Why You’re Single night. Soak up their hardwon wisdom during a funny night of introspection. Age 21+, $15, Feb. 12, 7 p.m., 828 Broadway A themed affair: When he’s not taking us back to the Jazz Age during the summer, Michael Arenella and his sextet (heh) keep things hot with romantic jazz standards at the Sweetheart Soirée. Four floors of the private Norwood mansion will be taken over by dancing, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. $95, Feb. 13, 9 p.m., 241 W. 14th St. For the exhibitionists: No Pants Subway Riders, this is your nextlevel challenge. Take it (almost) all off for love at Cupid’s Undie Run for a mile(ish) sprint in your “bedroom best.” Runners go at their own pace, and the event is bookended by a pre-run ceremony and post-run open bar.

$55, Feb. 13, noon, Stage 48, 605 W. 48th St. Put love on the spot: Love hurts, but looking for it can be even worse. Laugh them off with comedian Lane Moore, who’s been swiping right along with you to create Tinder Live!, where she matches up in real time to see where it goes. For Valentine’s Day weekend, she’s invited along some celebrity friends to vet the profiles. Tickets at the door only, $12, Feb. 13, 8 p.m., 702 Union St., Brooklyn Lose your inhibitions: Forget love and just give in to Lust at House of Yes, where all of your senses will be needed for the most decadent party of the year: dinner served to you from naked bodies, erotic art, live Cuban music, a hot wax play area and aerial performers. Dress is “elegant, sexy and creative,” whether that’s black tie or fetish gear. $81+, Feb. 14, 7 p.m.-2 a.m., 2 Wyckoff Ave., Brooklyn What is love? At Columbia’s LeRoy Neiman Gallery, over 40 artists offer their interpretations of this thing we call love, from desire to forever, in “Love 2016.” Through Feb. 17, Mon-Fri 9 a.m.-5 p.m., 310 Dodge Hall, 2960 Broadway Laugh it off: If you want to rejoice in some nudity and don’t have a valentine, Lot 45 is here for you. They’re hosting the fellas of Bushwick Bears Podcast and the ladies of Boobs of Bushwick for Fu** V-Day Extravaganza, a night of clothingoptional comedy. Free, Feb. 16, 9 p.m., 411 Troutman St., Bushwick Great minds think alike: If your favorite book is important enough to include in your dating profile, the Strand’s Must Love Books: Literary Speed Dating is for you. Each attendee (ages 21-39 only) will go on 10 fiveminute dates, with time afterward to mingle with everyone. Tickets include a drink and cake. $15, Feb. 18, 7 p.m., 828 Broadway

If your neighborhood has a Buy Nothing group, maybe not. In that case, all you would have to do is post your request on the local Facebook page and wait to see what turned up. Last week, in the Bella Vista neighborhood of Philadelphia, plenty of members had a curling iron — or three — to spare, from barely used high-end models to trusty drugstore backups. “It’s just so rewarding to see how much we’ve been able to save as far as waste,” says Paige Wolf, a local author, business owner and mother who

started the Bella Vista chapter. “I feel like our culture is reaching that tipping point of consumerism. People are into living frugally, sharing with their neighbors and getting back to their roots.” Founded in Washington state and now boasting hyperlocal chapters worldwide, the premise of the Buy Nothing Project is simple: Give what you can, take what you need and be neighborly in the process. Offerings range from the very small — a bundle of basil from an overzealous plant, ice cube trays, coupons — to designer shoes, good-asnew couches and antique armoires that (surprise!) don’t fit up the stairs on moving day. Requests, whether for a potato masher or an emergency crib for a foster child, are frequently met by people who were strangers the day before. Families with young children find Buy Nothing groups especially helpful, both for sourcing last-minute snow boots and for cleaning out the overflowing toy chest. “At this point, I refuse to buy new clothes or shoes for my kids — all their clothes are hand-me-downs, and as soon as they’re done, we pass them on,” says Wolf. “You can buy so much less stuff than you think you need, and that can be really freeing.”

What exactly is an “Anglo-Italianate” home? It’s this mansion-like townhouse located on Stuyvesant Square Park, according to CORE, which lists the massive residence at 243 E. 17th St. for $15 million. What does $15 million get you? There are five stories in this 6,494-square-foot house, with an additional 1,950 square feet on the lower level. The home has a five-bedroom, four-story owner’s residence and two onebedroom units that can “easily be converted into a single-family home.” Though billed as a townhouse, CORE broker Emily Beare describes the Gramercy

Award Winning Poconos Builder announces 8 Homes to Tour Presidents’ Weekend or the third consecutive year, RGB Custom Home Builders has taken the top prize in the Pocono Record Reader’s Choice Awards. When asked why his company has won this honor year after year, RGB President Bob Brown said, “First and foremost it is our uncompromising dedication to client satisfaction. With over 30 years of experience under our belt, we have tremendous insight into what our customers want in a home and we strive to exceed those expectations. Another important thing our customers appreciate is that we don’t rush them into making one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives. We’re confident that when buyers compare the convenience of our locations, beauty of our home sites and quality of our construction they’ll be excited to choose RGB as their builder.”The Pocono Mountains remain an attractive option for people who want or need to remain close to New York, prefer new construction and desire a neighborhood with an open spacious feeling. While beautiful home sites in the Poconos are growing ever more scarce, RGB has over 100 buildable home sites to consider. RGB has announced that they now have 8 homes available to tour President’s Weekend which are available for immediate sale. Many are customizable and can built on another choice home site. Yanks, Mets expect big things from fresh faces Both the Yankees and Mets will only go as far as their new blood takes them. ROBERT CRISCOLA @ItsGood2BeKing sports@metro.us

Both the Mets and Yankees will be looking to get back to the playoffs in 2016, but they may not be able to without significant contributions from their offseason acquisitions. Here’s a look at what to expect from some of the Mets’ and Yankees’ new faces. METS

Neil Walker Neil Walker, acquired from the Pirates for Jon Niese, will be filling the shoes of playoff hero Daniel Murphy — who landed with the Nationals. Walker compares favorably to the former Met mainstay; though Murphy has a bet-

ter lifetime average (.288 to Walker’s .272). Walker has Murphy beat in lifetime OBP (.338 to .331) and slugging percentage (.431 to .424). Mets fans can also anticipate slightly better defense at second; Walker’s fielding percentage was 10 points higher than Murphy’s last season. Also, Walker is a switch-hitter while Murphy could only bat left, so this gives the Mets more options when setting their lineups in 2016.

Asdrubal Cabrera Asdrubal Cabrera was picked up as a utility infielder the same week that Walker was brought in. The 30-year-old 2B/SS is coming off a renaissance year in which he batted .265 with the Rays with 15 home runs and 58 RBIs. He may not the be the player he was in 2011 and 2012 when he recorded back-to-back All-Star nominations with the Indians, but he should be able to relieve some tired players on oc-

casion and deliver some quality at-bats from either side of the plate off the bench.

Antonio Bastardo Mets fans should be familiar with Antonio Bastardo from his days with the Phillies, but the Mets decided to invest in him after a strong 2015 with the Pirates. The lefty hurled 57.1 innings, recorded a 2.98 ERA and a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 2.46 last season, all of which are in line with his career averages. Bastardo is effective against both lefties and righties but it’s possible he will be used as a left-handed specialist in 2016; last year he allowed lefties to bat just .138. YANKEES

Starlin Castro Much has been made about the Yankees not signing a free agent this winter, but the Bombers still managed to improve their team through the

trade market. The Yankees’ biggest offseason acquisition was second baseman Starlin Castro, who was brought in from the Cubs for long reliever and occasional starter Adam Warren. Castro played shortstop for the vast majority of his six-year career in Chicago, but slid over to second to make room for Addison Russell in the middle of 2015. Once the Cubs signed Ben Zobrist, Castro became a viable trade prospect and the Yankees, who were going to go into the new season with Rob Refsnyder and Dustin Ackley platooning at second, pounced on the opportunity to improve their team. Castro is a three-time

All-Star with a career batting average of .281, and he’s averaged 11 home runs and 66 RBIs in six seasons. Castro also rarely misses games; he’s averaged 148.5 games played over his career.

Aroldis Chapman The Yankees were embroiled in the most controversial transaction of the offseason as they dealt away some prospects for Reds closer Aroldis Chapman, who was involved in a domestic incident with his girlfriend in October. Florida authorities declined to press charges against the Cuban fireballer due to lack of evidence, but Chapman could still be

suspended by MLB under its new domestic abuse policy. Even if Chapman is disciplined, he should still be able to make a big impact in the Yankees’ already intimidating bullpen. It’s unclear if he’ll be adding regularly to his career save total of 146 (earned over six seasons), but Bombers’ incumbent closer Andrew Miller won’t force Joe Girardi’s hand. “My goal is to win,” Miller told Mike Francesa on WFAN on Feb. 3. “I’ve told people all along that there’s no résumé that I’m building. I’m not worried about some sort of milestone or Hall of Fame case or anything like that.”

The Spurs may be 28-0 at home, but after a win over the Lakers In San Antonio on Feb. 6, they won’t play at home again until March 2. That’s a whole lot of packing, but they’re familiar with this stretch.

Everything is coming up Raptors heading into the All-Star break. They’ve won 14 of their last 15 games with one more in Minnesota before their home city hosts NBA AllStar weekend.

Credit where it’s due: The Clippers have fought through drama and injuries to win 19 of 23. If they can continue to win until Blake Griffin returns, they could make for a tough out.

There’s one person who enjoyed Derek Fisher’s firing more than anyone else - and that’s Grizzlies forward Matt Barnes. After Fisher’s firing, Barnes posted an Instagram pic of himself smirking.

Umm … back to back losses to Orlando? The first came on a buzzer-beater. The second came after they were leading the Magic by 20 points in the first half. Just some ugly play from Atlanta.

OKC maintains its spot at No. 3. Hand it to the Thunder for giving their all and almost pulling off the upset over the Warriors behind Kevin Durant’s 40 points and 14 rebounds. But man, that’s got to be a tough one to swallow.

Sorry, but wins over the Pelicans and Kings aren’t going to move the needle much. The Cavs lost to the Hornets in Charlotte and then blew one at home to the Celtics last Friday. They still aren’t there yet under new head coach Ty Lue.

What a week for the Celtics, who went 4-0. These guys have won nine of their last 10 and are playing their best basketball of the Brad Stevens era. They’re probably playing too good for Danny Ainge to make a major deal at the trade deadline.

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are headed to the All-Star game and rightfully so. But let’s not forget how important center Hassan Whiteside has been this season: 12.2 points, 11. 1 rebounds. The Heat need more out of Goran Dragic, though.

Derek Fisher. You are the weakest link. Goodbye. Fish has gone fishin’ after getting fired on Monday. Fisher may have won five titles as a player under Phil, but it sure doesn’t look like he’s ready to win one as a coach.

PEYTON A SHILL TO THE VERY END OPINION

MATT BURKE @burke_metro

When Brock Lesnar officially arrived as a legitimate UFC competitor back in 2009, beating Frank Mir in seven minutes, he unleashed the greatest postfight speech of all-time. “Frank Mir had a horseshoe up his [expletive], Lesnar said. “I pulled it out of him and I beat him over the head with it. Lesnar then looked down at the UFC ring mat, which had a Bud Light logo on it. “I’m going to drink a Coors Light tonight. That’s right, a Coors, Lesnar said. “Because Bud Light don’t pay me nothing. Afraid that he had not

yet made enough of a statement, Lesnar told the sold-out crowd and payper-view audience that he “might even lay on top of his wife that night. Lesnar’s speech felt organic. It felt cool, because it was so raw. It did not matter that Coors Light probably paid him $250,000 to rip their competitor and pump up their product. Peyton Manning’s multiple plugs on Super Bowl Sunday did not feel as organic. They felt shallow and weird, quite honestly. This was supposed to be the crowning achievement of Manning’s brilliant career. The guy who had all the numbers in the world but lacked the Super Bowl rings to be regarded in the same light as the all-time greats, won the big one on what was likely the last football game he will ever play. Despite atrocious num-

bers for a Super Bowlwinning QB, he did shut up his critics. He played near-mistake-free football this postseason. As confetti fell from the Santa Clara sky, Man-

ning was able to find a familiar face in the sea of people flooding the Levi’s Stadium field. Yup, it was Papa John. And Peyton gave the cardboard pizza peddler a

big ol’ smooch. He then proceeded to drop the key word “Budweiser twice in postgame interviews with millions and millions of eyeballs still focused on

the TV across the world. He even managed to get his Disneyland plug correct. Since the game was on the West Coast, “Disneyland (in Anaheim, California) was the resort Manning was set to go to Monday, fulfilling the old “I’m going to Disney World! spot used by the Super Bowl MVP each year after the big game. A man with less of a marketing brain than Manning surely would have said the more common “I’m going to Disney World! phrase, but Manning is the all-time sports leader in commercial spots. He wasn’t going to flub that. There were no tears from Manning on Sunday, and a lot of what transpired felt forced. He could have easily promised to lay on top of Ashley Manning when he got back to the hotel that night, but that would have gone too far off the script.
