LYFT, GM ROLL OUT CAR RENTAL PROGRAM TO ATTRACT MORE DRIVERS
1
Drivers for ride-hailing app Lyft will no longer face the imperative of owning a car under a rental program launched with General Motors. The initiative is the first to come out of a two-monthold partnership between the automotive giant and ride service upstart, and is Lyft’s latest move to get more drivers on its app as it continues to trail ride-hailing behemoth Uber. To kick off the program, GM will provide a fleet of 125 Chevrolet Equinox cars to drivers in Chicago by the end of the month, the companies said. “We have now made car ownership optional on both sides of the market,” said Lyft President and co-founder John Zimmer. Passengers don’t need to own a car if they use Lyft, he said, and now drivers do not need to own a car to work for it. REUTERS
FIGHTING SPREADS IN SOUTHEAST TURKEY AFTER ANKARA BOMB

Fighting between Turkish security forces and Kurdish militants spread, with tanks, helicopters and armored cars deployed after a suicide bombing that killed 37 people in the capital Ankara. The deadliest violence took place in Diyarbakir, the largest city in mainly Kurdish southeastern Turkey, where Kurdistan Workers Party fighters blocked roads and clashed with security forces overnight as a police helicopter flew overhead, witnesses said. One police officer and three militants were killed in Diyarbakir and a second police officer was killed in the town of Nusaybin, where the PKK launched an attack, security sources said. No one has claimed responsibility for Sunday’s car bomb that tore through a crowded transport hub in Ankara. REUTERS
RESTAURANTS TO ALLOW CANINES AT OUTDOOR TABLES

New York City dogs will find it even easier to beg for scraps under new rules that allow them to sit with their owners at restaurants’ outdoor tables. The city’s health department on Tuesday released new regulations under a state law passed last year that permits municipalities to set their own rules for dogs in outdoor dining areas. Under the rules, dogs must be licensed and vaccinated against rabies, though restaurants will not be required to verify that dogs have the proper paperwork as an earlier draft had called for. Instead, participating restaurants must post signs to alert customers to the requirements. The regulations take effect in mid-April, just as the outdoor dining season begins in earnest. REUTERS

Bad boy returns to make Philly laugh From Philly’s black comedy circuit to the Big Apple, Big Jay Oakerson launches show next week on an NBC channel, and he’s pulling no punches. JENNY DEHUFF @MetroPhilly letters@metro.us
He’s not for the faint of heart. Philly’s brash, brutish, Big Jay Oakerson launches a new comedy show next week, “What’s Your F@%ing Deal?” and he’s pulling no punches. The show, which features comedy comrades Hannibal Buress, Colin Quinn, Andy Kindler and many more, will air on NBC’s new streaming comedy channel Seeso
on March 17. Long-locked and foulmouthed, Oakerson has a reputation for dirty joke delivery and offensive one-liners at the outset. He even co-hosts a podcast called “The Most Offensive Podcast on Earth.” Asked what it’s now like to work with some of the comedians he’s looked up to in his earlier years, Oakerson said it’s nice to see them “off the cuff.” “What’s beautiful is even the comedians you’ve seen before, and you know their style, they’re incredibly talented people, and for the first time, some of them are completely working of the cuff. You get to see their quickwitted thoughts. It’s a reminder of how they
work,” he told Metro during a recent interview. “I’ve always been a dirty comic, so my mind always is more blue or edgier.” Oakerson was 19 when a friend of his suggested he get into comedy in Philadelphia.

Don’t be surprised to hear his accent pop up every now and again. “I always have love for Philadelphia — my sports teams,” said Oakerson. “I pay $300 for the NFL sports package to watch the Eagles have a horrible season, but every time, where you’re from comes up a lot, because people ask me questions, and I definitely don’t try and shy away from that.”

Philadelphia sees spike in reported sex crimes: Police Philly police issued a number of Special Victims Unit bulletins Tuesday showing higher than normal reported sex crimes across town. JENNY DEHUFF @MetroPhilly letters@metro.us
Philadelphia saw a spike in reported sex crimes this past weekend through Tuesday, and Philly police cautioned people — especially women — to be mindful of their surroundings when walking at all times, day and night. There were seven instances of sexual assault or attempted assault, including two rapes, since Friday night, according to police. In one instance, a man attempted to abduct a 13-year-old girl, police said. In another instance, a man allegedly exposed his genitals. It was unclear Tuesday whether the assaults were related, but police were asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects. “As the weather gets warmer, there are more people out. We urge you — when you listen to music with earbuds when you walk, you can’t hear what’s going on,” said Philly police officer Tanya Little. “You cant even hear a car horn if you’re not paying attention and you’re walk-

Always be mindful.” According to a Special Victims Unit informational bulletin put out Tuesday, shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Friday, a 13-yearold female told police that while she was at the corner of Anderson and Woodlawn streets in Germantown, an unknown black male approached her and told her to come
with him. The male then reportedly fled once an adult witness yelled at him and told him to leave the female alone. Later that night, just before 10:30 p.m., a 24year old female was walking along the 3100 block of Clearfield Street, when she told police an unknown black male approached her and began to engage her in conversation. He then reportedly
took out a knife, forced her onto a nearby step and raped her. The assailant is described as 27 or 28 years old, 5-feet-9 to 6-feet tall, having a dark complexion, a mustache and a goatee and short black hair, wearing jeans and a navy blue hoodie and carrying a Track phone. Then on Saturday night, just after 10 p.m., police reported that a 31year old female was waiting for the bus at 8300 Frankford Avenue in the city’s Holmesburg section when an unknown black male asked her for the time. He then reportedly grabbed her and attempted to drag her into Penny-

She continued fighting until he dropped her and then fled into the park, according to police reports. The offender in that case is described as being between 18 and 24 years old, 5-feet-4, hav-
ing a smaller build, short hair, wearing a dark blue shirt, blue jeans and dirty sneakers. Sex-related crimes reportedly carried over into Monday and Tuesday. A 22-year-old female told police that at 4 a.m. on Tuesday, an unknown black male picked her up in his white, four-door vehicle along the 3600 block of K Street and forced her to engage in sex acts in the back seat at point of box cutter. He’s described as a having a medium build, a beard and wearing a gray hoodie with an eagle on it. On Monday at 8:25 a.m., a 38-year old female reported that while walking along the 900 block of South Broad Street, an unknown black male approached her from behind and grabbed her between her legs. At 2:30 p.m. Monday, a 19-year old woman told police that while riding on the Broad Street subway line, an unknown black male grabbed her buttocks. After they exited and when she confronted him, he reportedly shoved her in the face and then ran toward Suburban Station. Then at 11:41 p.m. Monday, a 23-year old female stated that while walking along the 2400 block of Coral Street in the city’s Kensington section, she observed an unknown white male exposing himself.

Feminist trapeze group to ‘detangle’ circus ideas “RetroAct” emphasizes queer and female experiences. JENNY DEHUFF @MetroPhilly letters@metro.us
This week, 10 women will undress in midair as they’re suspended 20 feet above a stage by silk sheaths and trapeze, and they’re doing it in the name of feminism. On Thursday, RetroAct debuts at the Christ Church Neighborhood House in Old City. It’s the newest circus-theater show from the loins of Tangle, Philly’s first all-female aerial dance theater company. Some of the performers are in samesex relationships with each other, which fuels the show’s emotional fire. “The goal was to create a feminist circus theater
show inspired by the possibility of circus art about one’s own strength and relationships,” said West Philly native Lauren Rile Smith, Tangle’s founder. RetroAct is a twist on Tangle that mixes traditional circus stunts like trapeze and aerial skills with dance, theater and live music with an emphasis on queer and female experiences, Smith told Metro. The 29-year-old said that while her all-female cast will illustrate a mix of romantic emotions on stage and in the air, theirs and hers in real life are not so dissimilar. “We do have several real-life partnerships behinds the scenes in Tangle,” she said. “We do kind of remix our characters and our onstage relationships over and over, so we have some great, longstanding jokes

It’s been a huge pleasure.” RetroAct’s acrobats, who also largely hail from West Philly, perform a combination of coquettish midair sequences, intricate balancing acts and campy drag duets. In one example, a woman wakes up in lingerie and dresses for work, 20 feet in the air. In another, two women work out their frustration and flirtation in a midair dance that traverses the room and reaches the ceiling. “I think that especially in a world of media in which relationships between women — passionate, platonic or antagonistic — frequently are rooted in stereotypes or erased altogether, it felt really relevant to display multiple types of relationships between women on

If You’re Suffering from a Leaky Bladder, Do This One Thing Dr. Victor Marchione shows why adult diapers and padded underwear are becoming a thing of the past.
Fast relief that will leave you speechless When asked how she felt, at first all she could say was “I can’t’ find the words to express how great I feel.” But later on she added. “I had so many accidents in public, I was afraid to leave the house. I even had to stop going to church. It was so humiliating, I cried. Within one month of trying Bladder Rescue I no longer have accidents! I’ve started going back to church and I’m socializing again… Thank you! Like Carrie, you too can get back your freedom. The freedom to plan your day according to what you want to do, and not what your bladder will allow. You never have to bother about how long a movie will last, or how much you can drink, or even whether there is a toilet nearby. But you have to act now. Don’t let another day do by.

Ignore bladder problems at your own risk You see a leaky bladder not only ruins your social life, and prevents you from getting a good night’s rest, it can lead to secondary complications. Urinary tract infection, bladder stones, kidney stones can all stem from a simple leaky bladder. And there is statistical evidence of a leaky bladder resulting in falls, fractures and even severe mood swings. While a leaky bladder can be downright humiliating, talking about
it is embarrassing. Which is why most people don’t even tell their family doctor about it. This is a big mistake because, without proper care, a leaky bladder will only get worse.
Effective bladder care right at home Thanks to Dr. Victor Marchione, we are able to bring effective bladder care to the confines of your home. Though Dr. Marchione is a certified M.D, his success with natural ingredients has given him the moniker – Food Doctor. Dr. Marchione, has recently developed a powerful and effective formula that is bringing back the freedom into the lives of thousands of women. And men too. It has natural ingredients, is drug free, and best of all, it is fast acting. It is aptly called Bladder Rescue. And as you can see from Carrie’s story, it is clearly living up its name.
No more adult diapers. No more sleepless nights! While there are thousands like Carrie who are happy to be using Bladder Rescue, the growing popularity of Bladder Rescue could have a negative impact on the adult diaper industry. What was till now a growing business (In many countries, including the US, sales of adult diapers are set to exceed the sales of baby diapers), could suddenly see a change in their fortunes. The diaper industry will be even more worried when they realize, Carrie’s success is no fluke and is based on scientific principles.
The science behind the success
unexpectedly. In fact, a recent Mayo Clinic report confirms that if you want to reduce bladder leakage, the first thing to do is strengthen all your bladder and pelvic floor muscles. And this is exactly what the main ingredients in Bladder Rescue - pumpkin seed extract and soy isoflavones – are proven to do.
Clinical trials back the science In an eight-week placebo-controlled clinical study, the water soluble pumpkin seed extract worked far better at strengthening the bladder and urinary tract than the placebo. In fact, it slashed frequent urination and leakage up to 57%. And nighttime urinations were reduced by as much as 60%. While this is great news it is not enough. But when pumpkin seed extract combines with soy isoflavones, this dynamic duo rapidly reduced the number of frequent urinations and episodes of leakage. In fact, in one clinical study, participants reported a dramatic 79% reduction in urinary frequency and leakage starting in as little as 7 days.
Participants REDUCED Nightly Frequency and Leakage 79% (From 7.3 to 1.5 episodes)

Wilkesboro, North Carolina Carrie B suffered from bladder problems for about 10 years. What started off as a small leak whenever she sneezed or laughed, ended up with her losing so much control of her bladder, she had to cut down on going out. She tried drugs, but they came with nasty side effects, so she gave up on them and tried adult diapers. She hated the rustle of the diapers and was very conscious of the unmistakable odor of stale urine. Nothing seemed to work for Carrie until she did this one thing.

Magnesium, Cranberry, and the vitamins C, B12, and D. All of which are proven to help strengthen bladder muscles and support bladder health.
Works for both men and women According to Dr. Marchione, as the bladder muscle in both men and women is similar in structure, and function, the ingredients work well for both the sexes. But for men, their urinary symptoms could be caused by an enlarged prostate. So it’s important to come to a correct diagnosis, before addressing the symptoms. If it’s a bladder problem, support the bladder muscle. If the symptoms are because of an enlarged prostate, proceed accordingly. Having said that, even after the prostate problem is resolved (drugs, supplements surgery) the leakage can continue. This is because an enlarged prostate can alter bladder muscle function in the long run. In which case, Bladder Rescue can come to the rescue.

BRIEF Masked home invader binds and robs Chester woman Police are searching for a masked man who they said invaded a Chester County woman’s home, tied her up and robbed her, all while wearing a terrifying Halloween mask. The masked man invaded the home on Crestline Road in Tredyffrin Township early Saturday morning around 1 a.m.,
according to PhillyVoice. The woman reportedly woke up to find the man standing over her. He then said, “Be quiet and you won’t be hurt.” 6ABC Philly reported that the home invader then bound the woman with tape and threatened her with a “stun gun-like weapon” for her ATM PIN before absconding with jewelry, valuables and her ATM card.
After fleeing in the woman’s car, the thief was caught on an ATM camera withdrawing money. The incident has rattled the otherwise quiet neighborhood. “It’s alarming, and we have to keep our eyes open to make sure we’re a little more precautious,” Michael Rogers, a resident of the neighborhood told 6ABC. The terrified victim was
able to call police after the thief left, and investigators found her car at a nearby train station. Police are asking anyone with further information regarding this crime to contact the police department (Detective Michael Carsello at610-644-3221) and or submit tips (which can be anonymous) to Crime Watch at Tredyffrinpd.org. Eakin released a statement along with his resignation: The porngate scandal stemmed from Attorney General Kathleen Kane’s allegations that she was set up in a scandal after uncovering “a cache of pornographic and racist emails that were being swapped among highranking state employees at her office.” The fallout from the release of these emails is expected to continue.

Kasich scores big win in his home state John Kasich won the Ohio primary. The race was called about 8:46 p.m., with Kasich leading Donald Trump by about 9 points, 44 to 32. “We’re going to be working all across this country,” Kasich said after the race was called. The win in Ohio provides Kasich a legitimate reason to stay in the race. Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump scored a crucial win in the Florida primary on Tuesday, ending the presidential hopes of Marco Rubio and moving closer to securing the party’s nomination as five U.S. states voted. Trump was aiming to sweep all five states on Tuesday, including Ohio, Missouri, North Carolina and Illinois, and deal another setback to establishment

Republicans who fear his rowdy campaign will lead the party to defeat in November. On the Democratic side, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, 68, also captured the Florida primary as she aimed to put some distance between herself and rival Bernie Sanders, 74, a senator from Vermont, in primaries in the same states. Rubio ends bid Marco Rubio ended his campaign on Tuesday for the Republican presidential nomination after failing to translate support from the party’s establishment into victories in primary states. The decision also came after poor performances last week in Michigan and Mississippi where he attracted only single-digit support in the polls.

Belgian police on Tuesday killed a gunman in a raid on a Brussels apartment linked to Islamist militants involved in November’s Paris attacks, and two others were on the run, state broadcaster RTBF reported. Belgium’s federal prosecutor said earlier one or more suspects had barricaded themselves into an apartment after police had come under heavy weapon fire through a door when carrying out the raid. Belgian media said four police officers were wounded. Belgian daily DH said one suspect was shot

dead after being spotted from a police helicopter in a nearby garden. Phone calls made by Reuters seeking comment from police and prosecutors were not answered. French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said French police took part in the raid in the Belgian capital. Streets around the house in a southern section of the
city were sealed off by police, Reuters journalists at the scene said. “This operation is connected to the Paris attacks, a spokesman for Belgium’s federal prosecutor said. Reuters journalists heard gunshots as police commandos crowded into the street where the raid unfolded. Investigators believe much of the planning and preparation for the Nov. 13 bombing and shooting rampage in Paris that killed 130 people were carried out by young French and Belgian nationals, some of whom fought in Syria for Islamic State. The area around Tuesday’s raid, near a car factory and a major northsouth railway linking Paris and Amsterdam, was sealed off, and a police helicopter buzzed overhead. REUTERS

Trump’s appeal divides Tea Party loyalties in crucial battleground states Having loyal Tea Party supporters could also help him fend off moves to block his nomination at the Republican National Convention in July if he falls short of the threshold of 1,237 delegates that would guarantee him the party’s candidacy. Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has effectively split the conservative Tea Party movement, as his fiery campaign draws in follow-
ers of the group who had been expected to line up behind Ted Cruz, a more consistent champion of small government. As the Republican race moves to the crucial battlegrounds of Ohio and Florida among three other states on Tuesday, Tea Party support promises to help Trump’s campaign offset its relative lack of on-the-ground organization compared to Texas Senator Cruz, his closest rival nationally. A Reuters review of Trump’s list of 66 Ohio delegates -- who would represent him at the nominating convention if he wins the primary and provide crucial support in

House Speaker Ryan calls for less violence on campaign trail House Speaker Paul Ryan on Tuesday condemned efforts to disrupt political rallies, but said all presidential candidates must bear responsibility to help curb violence at campaign events and create a less hostile atmosphere. “All candidates have an obligation to do what they can do ...provide an atmosphere of harmony, to reduce violence, to not incite violence, Ryan told reporters, speaking after a string of chaotic events that have been most notable at campaign rallies for front-runner Donald Trump. Separately, Ryan said he has spoken with

BRIEFS Liberal groups urge nonviolent movement to stop Trump U.S. liberal groups, divided in their support of Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, have urged a united, active opposition to Donald Trump. In an open letter released on Tuesday, a group of liberal organizations called for a “non-violent movementâ€? to thwart Trump’s candidacy for November’s general election, calling the New York billionaire a “hate-peddling bigot who openly incites violence.â€? “This is a ďŹ ve-alarm ďŹ re for our democracy,â€? said the letter, which was signed by the leaders of the liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org, a supporter of Sanders, and the Service Employees International Union, a major labor union that is backing Clinton. Representatives of 20 other groups signed the letter, which was published online as Americans in ďŹ ve states voted in the latest round of primary contests to pick party nominees. Trump has alarmed many in America, not just liberals, with his campaign rhetoric, from calling Mexican immigrants rapists and drug dealers to his proposal to ban Muslims temporarily from entering the United States. Secret Service manpower shortage as campaigns ramp up The Secret Service, tasked with simultaneously protecting President Barack Obama and some of the Republican and Democratic candidates now running to replace him next year, is facing a manpower shortfall at a time of peak demand, the agency told Congress on Tuesday. Secret Service Director Joseph Clancy told a House Appropriations panel the agency is focused on “human capital needs across the organizationâ€? and accruing enough agents to ease overtime demands on the existing force. The Secret Service hopes to have 7,600 agents in its ranks by ďŹ scal year 2019, up from the current ďŹ gure of approximately 6,200, Committee Chairman John Carter of Texas said during Tuesday’s hearing. While Clancy said the Secret Service was making progress in hiring more agents, “we have yet to see the desired impact on our overall staďŹƒng levels due to increased attrition.â€? Clancy testiďŹ ed at a hearing to review the agency’s funding needs for the ďŹ scal year starting on Oct. 1 REUTERS

Graphic account of Hulk Hogan sex tape read aloud in court Gawker founder Nick Denton read out a graphic account of the acts shown in a sex tape featuring wrestling celebrity Hulk Hogan in a Florida courtroom Tuesday, saying it “stands up to the test of time years after his company put it on the Internet. Gawker was sued for $100 million by Hogan, who says the 2012 release of the tape violated his privacy. The New York media company could be forced out of business by an unfavorable verdict in a civil trial testing the limits of freedom of the press. Hogan’s attorneys asked Denton, a high-profile figure in the world of Web publishing, to read aloud an article accompanying the video, which he did in an even tone. The lawsuit centers on the one-minute, 41-seconds of video that Gawker

excerpted from the sex tape of unknown origin. The video has not yet been shown to the jury in St. Petersburg, Florida, near Hogan’s home. The video shows his tryst with the wife of his then-best friend, radio “shock jock personality Bubba the Love

Sponge. Hogan says their consensual encounter was recorded without his knowledge five years before Gawker’s posting. Denton said he had not watched the video, nor read the article before publication. He described his role as broadly overseeing the portfolio of
websites under Gawker media. But when asked by a juror how the posting fit into Gawker’s goal to produce “true and interestingâ€? journalism, he stood by the piece. “We are talking about it now,â€? he said. “I don’t think anyone would dispute that it has been an interesting piece.â€? Denton’s testimony, spread out over two days, highlighted his work in print media before starting Gawker, whose outlets include technology-oriented Gizmodo and Jezebel, which is focused on women’s topics. Seeing traditional media as often stodgy, Denton said his outlets aim “to peel back the surface, show what is going on behind the scenes.â€? “Today’s gossip is tomorrow’s news,â€? he said, describing Gawker’s motto. Jaden Smith will wear a dress, OK? Second-generation Hollywood scion and Twitter capitalization abuser Jaden Smith wants to make one thing clear: He doesn’t care what you think about him wearing skirts and dresses, so stop trying to impose your outmoded ideas of fashion and gender norms on him. Sheesh. “I feel like people are kind of confused about gender norms. I feel like people don’t really get it,” he tells British GQ. “I’m not saying that I get it, I’m just saying that I’ve never seen any distinction. I don’t see man clothes and woman clothes, I just see scared people and comfortable people.” But, if you thought for a moment that maybe you and Smith
the Younger were finally seeing eye to eye on something and maybe, just maybe, the musingprone teen was finally making sense, he’s got some world-healing ambitions locked and loaded to alienate you again, don’t worry: “I’m really working towards just fixing the whole planet Earth. I really just want to create a utopia on this planet,” he says. “I really want to make it so that people don’t have to die to pay bills and just work to survive. So that they can work to actually live and do the things that they love to do.” Oh, is that all?
Kerry Washington sticks to her privacy guns Kerry Washington doesn’t know how she can make this any clearer: She doesn’t talk about her personal life. In interviews, on Twitter, wherever. And that means not addressing rumors that she and husband Nnamdi Asomugha are headed for a divorce. “I think — and this is something Reese Witherspoon has talked about a lot — it’s a little different for me because I don’t talk about my personal life,”

the “Scandal” star said during a SXSW panel. “Social media has actually been great for [other celebrities’] relationships with the weeklies or the gossip sites because people say things and they say, ‘That’s not true! Just so you know, that’s BS!’” While that’s tempting, that’s not Washington’s M.O., though. “If I don’t talk about my personal life, it means I don’t talk about my personal life,” she added. “That means not only did I not tell you when I was getting married, it also means if somebody has rumors about what’s going on in my marriage, I don’t refute them, because I don’t talk about my personal life.” So … no comment, then?

he’s going to have to say something. And look! He’s already started. The New York Times asked Affleck about Ricky Gervais’ Golden Globes joke made at his expense — “He’s also the only person who Ben Affleck hasn’t been unfaithful to: Please wel-

Holly Taylor’s character, Paige Jennings, finds rebellion in religion on “The Americans.” JAMES MINCHIN/FX
The spy snitch Holly Taylor of “The Americans” discusses her character’s Season 4 dilemma. RACHEL RACZKA @rachelraczka
rachel.raczka@metro.us
Holly Taylor calls us after leaving Wayne Hills High School in New Jersey, where she’s balancing her senior year and starring in FX’s spy drama “The Americans.” The 18-year-old actress plays Paige Jennings, the up-until-last-season unknowing teenage daughter of agents Elizabeth (Keri Russell) and Philip Jennings (Matthew Rhys). In a devastating moment of panic, Taylor’s character blows her parents’ cover to her confidante — Pastor Tim (Kelly AuCoin) — in the Season 3 finale after they reveal their plan to fold her into their Russian informant scheme. Taylor, on the other hand, is as cool as a cucumber, having mastered maneuvering out of her crowded parking lot following the 2:16 p.m. final bell at school. She’s worked out a plan with her teachers that allows for her to keep up with her filming obligations. “It’s kind of disappointing because everyone has told me that senior year would be the easiest, but I might want to sue everyone who told me that because there’s so much going on ” she laughs. Her character picks up in Season 4 — pre-
miering Wednesday at 10 p.m. — and will be faced with the unpleasant ramifications of her ratting out her parents. Taylor weighs in on Paige’s upcoming consequences. The scene at the end of Season 3, where Paige calls Pastor Tim, must have been so dramatic to film, because not only is it emotionally charged, it’s totally onesided. What was that like for you? That was an exciting scene to film, and I knew it would be challenging because when I have to be emotional and cry, I’ll usually react off of what other people are doing. But for that, it’s just me talking and we couldn’t hear Pastor Tim on the other end of the phone. Dan Sackheim directed that episode and he was really helpful and got me to that headspace. He made sure I had time to collect my thoughts in-between takes and it ended up all flowing. Was there any ad-libbing to that conversation? At one point, Paige specifically tells Pastor Tim, “They’re not Americans,” which is so funny given the name of the show. No, that was all very specific to the script. That’s her way of trying to break it down and understand it. [That phrase] was opposite of the show [title], but that’s the irony of the show. I think that’s a big revelation that Paige is seeing now.
Varicose Veins Spider Veins Itching and Burning Leg Pain and Cramps Heaviness and Swelling Skin Discoloration Ulcers and Blood Clots
Do you think Paige would be a good spy? She would make a good spy, but it might take some time for her to come around to the idea. There are a lot of parallels between the way her and Elizabeth [the mother] live their lives. We’ve seen [Paige] be really passionate with activism and the church, and Elizabeth has been the same way with her causes. They can relate on that level. She’s already proven to be curious and constantly observant. I saw you retweeting a fan comment that Paige is actually the only “good guy” of the show because she turns in Russian spies. What did you think about that concept? I thought that was so interesting because a lot of the times people bash Paige, like “How could she do that?” But when you remove yourself from the connection to Elizabeth and Philip, we realize we’re generally an American audience, who at that time were rooting for Americans. It’s hard to be on a show where you’re rooting for the other side, and it’s not until you remove yourself from it that you can gain perspective. A lot of the fans are so passionate, but in real life, that’s what we would have wanted. We would have wanted the spies to be turned in. I think that’s one of the real debates of the show. “The Americans” Season 4 premiere on FX Wednesday at 10 p.m.

Sacha Baron Cohen, in atypical fashion, hasn’t been doing the press tours for his new film “The Brothers Grimsby” entirely in character. One reason: Unlike Ali G, Borat and Bruno, his newest character — Nobby, the Northern English hooligan and layabout at the helm of the action-comedy — is too new and not widely known. But he did some interviews in character — including this one. We spoke to Cohen-as-Nobby for the dirty, crazy, politically incorrect movie, which finds him reuniting with his long-lost brother (Mark Strong), who just happens to be a James Bond-ian superspy. Do you ever feel ashamed? Well, I’m hungover, I’m covered in vomit, my older son’s been arrested for burning down his school and my 9-year-old just got his probation officer pregnant. So today, no, I’m not ashamed, I’m proud.

I’m also proud that, apart from me, four other cast members in this movie are actually from Grimsby, which makes it the town’s biggest employer! I don’t believe in shame. I think life’s about balance — fun and responsibility. Yes, have a drink, yes, have a smoke, yes, have a little gamble, maybe even drugs … but then it’s homework and straight off to bed. I’m a tough dad, but you have to be.
When I became a spy, I had to learn all sorts of amazing facts about Russia. For example, I’ve noticed from my research — Bond films and pornography — that Russian women are generally sexier than the girls where I’m from. When the Vikings arrived in England — raping and pillaging — and got to Grimsby, they said: “Do you know what? Let’s maybe just do some pillaging here.”
Russia’s been in the news a great deal of late. What do you know about that country?
In the film, you put some firecrackers up your behind, which actually didn’t look that funny …

action adventure with his long-lost superspy brother (Mark Strong, left) in “The Brothers Grimsby. SONY
Well, it wasn’t funny for me either, especially when I realized it was in the wrong way and was supposed to be pointing out. Why on earth isn’t there a warning on the box? What is your favorite story from the set? Probably the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time was when Penelope Cruz, who’s in our movie, showed us her favorite party trick: playing the whole of “Hello by Adele out of her bottom — note perfect. She didn’t even soil herself — though
apparently that chord change in the second chorus can get a bit messy sometimes. Thank you for the laughs, Penelope. And thank you for leaving your trailer unlocked. If anybody wants to buy a Spanish version of “Mein Kampf it’s on eBay. Do you think our planet is overpopulated? I was chatting about this exact thing last night with my girlfriend and 11 children. I reckon it’s probably because countries are shrinking. When will we achieve
world peace? All I know is that if we just put our differences aside and love one another, nothing ever gets sorted out. No, I’m actually a peace-afist. I think we have to love one another, especially our children. My kids are the reason I get up in the afternoon. Do you think of yourself as scum? No. And even if I am, it’s scum who built the hospitals, the factories and the mansions for rich people to live in. It’s scum who keep the “Fast and Furious franchise alive.

Like her character in the “Before Sunrise” films, Julie Delpy is talkative and opinionated, and she punctures her prickly pronouncements with deep laughs. She has a lot to say about her new film “Lolo,” which she directed, cowrote and stars in. In the comedy, she plays a single mother whose teen son (Vincent Lacoste) likes to sabotage his mom’s boyfriends.
Your films “2 Days in Paris” and its New York sequel were more “indie” whereas this is more clean and mainstream. I wanted a film that was more accessible to a broader audience in France. But at the same time, I wanted to trick them into listening to stuff that’s completely not mainstream. [Laughs] If I had done it handheld, it would be something that’s more indie, and a certain kind of people would never see it. It looks mainstream and it’s a farce, but with a twist, and it’s politically incorrect and it’s kind of f—ed-up and it’s dirty, dirty, dirty. GETTY IMAGES
Vincent Lacoste plays the titular, sociopathic son of a single mother, played by Julie Delpy, in her newest film, “Lolo,” now on video on demand. FILMRISE
Lolo is an older teenager, whereas your own son is only 7 years old. Obviously my son is the sweetest. He’s a little bunny, basically. There’s no comparison to Lolo, and this film has nothing do with my personal life. But I’ve seen so many friends give all their love to their grown-up kids. And the kids turn out to be something they don’t expect. And that’s not necessarily a good thing. [Laughs] A friend of mine called me and said, “My kid is 18 and it’s like having a stranger in my house. I don’t know who he is and I’m scared of him.” [Laughs] That’s a fear of every parent. I mean, I have it because I’m a neurotic and I have every fear. One of the many, many reasons I’ve never had kids is because I’m terrified they’ll turn out to be monsters. Let’s say a good 60 percent turn out to be what you expect them to
be. And then there’s 40 percent where you don’t know what you have. It’s funny, I’m co-raising my son, and he’s extremely sweet and has a lot of empathy for others. So I don’t have that fear that he has a sociopathicnarcissistic personality. I think that starts early. And I know a sociopath. He doesn’t even understand when someone else is hurt. It’s a form of malfunction — a weird chemical imbalance. Which is very good in our society, apparently, because sociopaths do very well. It works perfectly with capitalism. [Laughs] Well, America might be electing a sociopath for president. [Laughs] Well, that’s another issue. That’s very scary. A completely ruthless businessman. I hope it doesn’t happen. Because having two sociopaths in two of the biggest countries, which is Russia and America, would be a lethal cocktail.

Books set in faraway lands coming out this month We live in one of the best cities in the world, but wanting to escape to somewhere far, far away from disappointing sports teams and littered streets is, well, normal. Whether you are looking for extreme adventure like Cambodia, inspiring stories of people who have left everything behind to do something bold abroad, or want to read about somewhere quite dangerous you have no plan to ever experience yourself, we have you covered.
“Guapa” by Saleem Haddad (out now) This gripping story follows Rasa, a young gay man living in the Middle East. It’s challenging enough coming to terms with his sexuality, but living in a place with extreme political and religious turmoil with little acceptance of who he is makes it exponentially harder. After his grandmother catches him in bed with his lover, Rasa leaves home and begins an odyssey, and the colorful cast of characters he meets along the way help him discover even more about himself.
“Cambodia Noir” by Nick Seeley (out March 15)
This thriller has it all: sex, drugs and mystery.

BOOKS
Will is an American war photographer living in Cambodia, a country where blackmail is a common currency. When a fellow ex-pat, a beautiful, wealthy woman, offers him a large sum of money to find her missing sister, an intern at the Cambodia Daily, Will finds himself in the middle of a very dangerous situation. Author Nick Seeley used to work at the Cambodia Daily, in real life, and lends his first-hand knowledge of life in Cambodia to his debut work of fiction.
“Eat Pray Love Made Me Do It” (out March 29)
Even if you weren’t one of the more than 10 million people who bought Elizabeth Gilbert’s “Eat Pray Love,” you might have caught the 2010 movie starring Julia Roberts. Simply put: It inspired a lot of people. A new anthology, with an introduction by Gilbert herself, documents the ways, small and large, it has transformed a sampling of its readers. One writer quit a lucrative yet unfulfilling job. Another heads to New Zealand on a quest to find the perfect pizza. Like the original, this book will take you around the world, though some made revolutionary changes right at home. EMILY LAURENCE

Would you live where a congregation used to worship? More and more old churches are being converted into residences as attendance declines and housing demand continues to rise. Most recently, Main Line reBuild transformed the former United Methodist Church of Narberth into six highend condominiums. The project, Nar-
berth Place, consists of 12 luxury units — six in the church itself, three in the former parsonage and three in a the manor house. Constructed in 1929, the original design features a stone façade and stained glass windows, but inside, buyers will find modern amenities such as fireplaces, courtyards, and private studies and lofts. Narberth Place isn’t the only former place of worship that Main Line reBuild has converted. They have two other church projects, including converting the Ardmore Baptist Church into five condos and the Gladwyne Methodist Church, which will consist of
eight units. Main Line got into the church renovation business with a specific customer in mind. Scott (SBOJUF $06/5&35014 JOTUBMMFE

Brehman, one of the partners at Main Line, says the team was looking for a project that would appeal to the over60 demographic looking to downsize. “Most of our buyers say the same thing: They want to get rid of the single family home but they don’t want to leave the Main Line, he says. That led the developers to Narberth, where Brehman says they discovered three shuttered churches, potentially slated for demolition, with the architectural potential that would appeal to the customer they had in mind. “They were just so amazingly well-built and to see them thrown in dumpster would really be a shame, he says.

Villanova’s NCAA success depends on healthy Ochefu The Wildcats will need to be at full strength if they want any hope of making a national championship run. JON MARKS @MetroPhilly
sports@metro.us
Whether they’re playing in Brooklyn, Boise, Birmingham or 10 miles from Bridesburg in South Philly, unless Villanova has a healthy Daniel Ochefu pounding the boards and wreaking defensive havoc in the paint, the Wildcats don’t figure to be dancing for long in the 2016 NCAA Tournament. For as well as Jay Wright’s 29-5 team has played all season — good enough at one point to be No. 1 throughout the land — last weekend’s Big East tournament showed

considering Nova has already beaten Fran Dunphy’s gang handily last month, 83-67, while Iowa coach Fran McCaffery grew up near Philly and went to Penn before beginning his coaching career at Lehigh. Of course, Wright will make sure his players’ minds are strictly on UNC Asheville for now. He’s just happy after hearing all season that nothing really mattered until tournament time, it’s finally here. “We’re definitely not looking past UNC Asheville,” declared Ochefu. “We know anything can happen in March. We’ll just leave the pressure on the outside.” And hope that when they wake up first Saturday morning, then Monday it will be time to start getting ready for Louisville and that long-awaited trip to the Sweet 16.”

day for him to get ready is really crucial.” But should Ochefu go down again — or simply need a breather, 6-8 junior Darryl Reynolds is ready to step in. “He’ll have a couple of days to get his ankle right, which is big,” Reynolds said, “But I think I did well. My defense and rebounding is my main job on this team. Offense is a plus. Three games in three days show the toughness of this team, but I’m happy that stretch is over.” Indeed from here on there are no more back-tobacks, which should come as a relief to Ochefu and company. A win over the 15th-seeded Bulldogs (2211), champions of the Big South Conference, would move the Wildcats into a second round date with the Temple-Iowa winner. That would be a matchup filled with all sort of Philadelphia ramifications,

how critical his 6-foot-11 post presence is to their success. Obviously hampered by a nagging ankle injury that limited his minutes and effectiveness, the Cats can only hope having nearly a full week of rest and treatment before they take on UNC Asheville in their tournament opener Friday is like a trip to Lourdes for Ochefu. “It’s going to be good because I get to rest it, get a lot of treatment on it,” Ochefu said. “Hopefully by Friday, I’m back to 100 percent. That should make a huge difference. I should get a lot of my strength and confidence back.” Not any more than his teammates. “He’s really important the way we focus on defending and rebounding so much,” said fellow senior Ryan Arcidiacono. “Not having him out there hurts us. only selection the Eagles have made in the top 10. Get excited, you might just see one of these players in midnight green next season:
Vernon 1 CB, Hargreaves III, Florida The Eagles haven’t selected a defensive back in the first round since Lito Sheppard in 2003. But when the Birds’ secondary was filled with studs, the first two or three rounds of the draft is where they came from. Those days are long gone, though Malcolm Jenkins (a former first round pick) and Eric Rowe (last year’s second round selection) give hope they may return. Though he hasn’t yet played a down for the Eagles, Leodis McKelvin was the 11th overall pick in the 2008 draft. Hargreaves was a standout for three years at Florida, intercepting 10 passes in his career. The main knock on him is his height: 5-foot-10. He recorded a 39-inch vertical at the combine. After Florida State’s Jalen Ramsey, a corner-safety tweener, Hargreaves is widely listed as the top corner in this year’s draft class, and he should go off the board somewhere right around the Eagles’ selection.
Stanley, 2 Ronnie T, Notre Dame
Most mock drafts have Mississippi tackle Laremy Tunsil the first player off the board to Tennessee. The next man up on the offensive line is Stanley, and the Eagles’ trade with the Dolphins has positioned them well to grab him and keep repairing their tattered offensive line. With new signing Brandon Brooks taking care of one guard spot, ideally any lineman the Eagles drafted could step into the other one from day one before ultimately
sliding to tackle and replacing Jason Peters. Stanley is tougher to project at guard than some others in the draft, as he made 40 starts at tackle in college, but he has the size and frame (6-foot-6, 312 pounds) to stay at tackle in the pros. With Peters’ health constantly up in the air, the Birds’ may need their next tackle sooner rather than later.
Jack, 3 Myles OLB, UCLA
A year ago, linebacker was thought to be the deepest and most talented position group on the team. The Eagles have already seen a great deal of turnover at linebacker this offseason. DeMeco Ryans and Kiko Alonso are gone. The move away from the 3-4 defense creates the question of where Brandon Graham and Connor Barwin will play. Jordan Hicks was a revelation, but is now recovering from an injury. Mychal Kendricks was injured and disappointing in 2015. Last season it was another UCLA linebacker Eagles fans had their collective eye on: Kendricks’ brother Eric. He went 45th overall to the Vikings. Jack won’t be on the board anywhere near that long. He is recovering from his own injury — a torn ACL. Before that, he was a dual-threat for the Bruins on offense and defense. He scored seven touchdowns as a running back as a freshman, while racking up 75 tackles and winning Offensive and Defensive Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors.
Coleman, 4Corey WR, Baylor Yes, the Eagles have invested heavily in wide receivers in the draft the last two years. Yes, it’s had relatively little pay off. That can lead to two schools of thought. Either: a) they need to
METRO.US WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16, 2016
SPORTS Elliott, 5 Ezekiel RB, Ohio State
stop doing it, or b) they still need help at wide receiver. Jordan Matthews has, despite last season’s struggles with drops, done well over his first two years and missed a 1,000-yard season by just 3 yards in 2015. Coleman would provide the Eagles with a very different receiver, but one no less talented. This year he won the Biletnikoff while scoring 20 touchdowns; in 2014 he reached the end zone 11 times. Coleman could provide the Eagles the deep threat they haven’t had since Chip Kelly released DeSean Jackson. Getting that threat back might do wonders to unlock the Eagles’ run game as well.
Speaking of that run game, this is a much more direct way to invest. The rare (in 2016) running back talented enough to garner top 10 draft stock, Elliott seems to be a natural fit for Philadelphia after the trade of DeMarco Murray. While he played well in the first half of 2015, Ryan Mathews has played in 16 games just once in six NFL seasons. He’s missed 23 games over that period. Behind him, Darren Sproles, while never to be doubted, will be 33 when the NFL season begins, and shouldn’t be asked to carry the load at
CLASSIFIED DIRECTORY
running back. All of this makes Elliott, a workhorse comparable to a (not used-up) Demarco Murray, exactly what the Eagles need. The combination of strength and speed (he ran a 4.47 40-yard dash at the combine) that led to two 1,800-yard seasons in college would make Elliott the most exciting Eagles first round selection since Donovan McNabb. He made sure fans saw his best on the biggest stage — helping Ohio State to the 2014 National Championship. If the Eagles took Elliott (and don’t let this dissuade you), he would be the highest running back selected since Cleveland took Trent Richardson third overall in 2012.
