MICROSOFT TO BUY LINKEDIN FOR $26.2B IN ITS LARGEST DEAL
1
Microsoft will buy LinkedIn for $26.2 billion in its biggest-ever deal, combining the software giant’s business-productivity tools with an online network of 433 million professionals. For Microsoft, the deal will help it in its mission of trying to keep services like Outlook email relevant enough that customers won’t want to leave it for competitors such as Google’s Gmail. For LinkedIn, the opportunity to tap Microsoft’s customers, including the 1.2 billion users of its Office suite of business software, could help it jump-start growth, which has slowed in recent quarters. BALTIMORE COP SAYS FREDDIE GRAY ASKED FOR HELP DURING FATAL RIDE
2
A Baltimore police officer testified Monday that black detainee Freddie Gray asked for help while being transported in a police van, where he suffered a broken neck. The officer, William Porter, took the stand in the trial of Officer Caesar Goodson, 46, the van’s driver. Prosecutors contend Goodson gave Gray a “rough ride” and he is accused of second-degree depraved heart murder and other charges in Gray’s death in April 2015. His death triggered protests and rioting in Baltimore and stoked a U.S. debate on police treatment of minorities. Goodson is the third of six officers to go on trial, and his attorneys argue that Gray caused his own fatal injuries. Porter testified in Baltimore City Circuit Court that he responded to a call to assist Goodson at the fourth stop the van made while transporting Gray. He found Gray, who was shackled, lying on his stomach on the van’s floor, his head toward the front of the vehicle. REUTERS

TOP COURT TOSSES PUERTO RICO’S DEBT RESTRUCTURING LAW
3
The Supreme Court refused to revive a Puerto Rico debt-restructuring law, putting the U.S. territory at risk of a messy default unless Congress this month passes legislation to help the Caribbean island survive its crippling fiscal crisis. The justices ruled 5-2 that Puerto Rico’s 2014 statute, which would have let it cut billions of dollars in debt at public utilities over creditor objections, conflicted with federal bankruptcy law. The justices left in place a 2015 appeals court ruling invalidating the law, called the Recovery Act. Passage of legislation now advancing in the U.S. Congress is likely the only remaining option to restructure Puerto Rico’s debt in a bid to avoid a default. REUTERS

Rainbow flags of all sizes waved on City Hall Plaza on Monday as a crowd of more than a thousand turned out for a vigil honoring the victims of Sunday’s shooting massacre at a gay club in Orlando, Florida, that left 49 dead and 53 injured. A group of young people held candles, some posed for pictures swathed in a multicolored banner, others held signs reading “Unite Against Hate.”
Mayor Marty Walsh said it’s now the city’s turn to help after Orlando supported Boston in the wake of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings. “We will continue to stand in solidarity with them and we will help them in any way we can,” he said. At sundown, Walsh said the building would be bathed in rainbowcolored light. The Rev. Laura Ruth Jarrett, pastor of Hope Central Church in Jamaica Plain, led a prayer before a minute-long moment of silence. She implored the crowd to take action to address hatred. “We will do something next,” she said, to cheers. She added: “I beg us to claim and practice the joyful complexity that is the LGBTQ community’s great gift to our families, neighbors and

city. For we know that love is love is love is love is love is love.” The crowd then slowly made its way inside City Hall to sign a condolence book to be sent to Florida. Among those in the near-silent line inside the building was Steve Rivers, a 40-year-old Florida native living in Boston, who choked up when asked what message he planned to write for his friends back home. “I’m still racking my brain because I’ve been in that club so many times,” he said, referring to the nightclub
Pulse, where the shooter opened fire early Sunday morning. “It might be a while before I can go out to clubs again. It’s awful to have that feeling, like, I don’t want to go somewhere where I have always gone.” Gov. Charlie Baker also attended the vigil. Baker, whose brother Alex is gay, condemned anti-LGBT hatred in a news conference on Monday. “There’s no room for that here in the commonwealth or anywhere in society,” he said. “ We should, of course, do all we can to resist that.”

FBI: Mateen had no ties to Tsarnaev ‘homeboys’ Omar Mateen may have falsely claimed he had ties to Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev. MORGAN ROUSSEAU @MetroMorgan
morgan.rousseau@metro.us
The FBI determined the man who opened fire on a crowd of nearly 350 at an Orlando LGBT nightclub Sunday likely made up claims that he had ties to Boston Marathon bombers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Omar Mateen, 29, carried out the worst mass shooting in U.S. history early Sunday morning at the Pulse nightclub, killing 49 people and injuring more than 50 others. Mateen, who was shot and killed by law enforcement during a standoff at the club, had previously been investigated for claiming to have ties to the Tsarnaev terrorists. But an FBI probe found that he had no such ties, according to federal investigators. Special Agent in Charge Harold H. Shaw sent out a statement Monday saying, “During one of the 911 calls between the operator and Omar Mir Seddique Mateen, Mateen made a reference to the Tsarnaev brothers by calling them his ‘homeboys.’ At this point in time, all evidence collected to date shows no connection between Mateen and the Tsarnaev brothers.” The FBI also confirmed Mateen’s false claim to The Guardian, but would not comment on

the Tsarnaev connection. “I can confirm that the subject made allegations of terror ties that investigation proved to be unfounded, but I can’t comment on the specific association,” Matthew Berton, an FBI spokesman, told the publication. The Tsarnaev brothers carried out the April 15, 2013, terror attacks at the Boston Marathon finish line that killed three people, including an 8-yearold boy, and injured more than 260 others. The case was regarded as an act of homegrown terrorism, though the brothers claimed allegiance to Islamic extremists. Before Sunday’s deadly rampage, Mateen also
called 911 to proclaim his allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS), a terror organization known for carrying out widespread acts of terrorism and brutal murders. ISIS quickly claimed credit for Sunday’s massacre, though U.S. officials have said they consider Mateen a “lone wolf” attacker with no ties to any terror organization. Many reports claim Mateen had a history of homophobia and abusive behavior. His father, Seddique Mir Mateen, said his son became enraged after seeing two men kissing in Miami months ago. Mateen “saw two men kissing each other in front of his wife and kid and he got very angry,” he told NBC News. Shaw said feds had no specific, credible threats to the Boston area as a result of the Orlando attack, but asked the public to remain vigilant. “As always, the FBI Boston Division will work with our law enforcement partners to gather, share and act upon threat information as it comes to our attention. We urge the public to report any and all suspicious activity to law enforcement,” Shaw said.

DraftKings and FanDuel may join forces Reports say the fantasy sports sites are considering a merger. SPENCER BUELL @MetroBOS
spencer.buell@metro.us
The twin titans of fantasy sports could soon become one. Boston-based DraftKings and New York-based FanDuel are in talks about a possible merger, insiders have told Bloomberg. Reuters has also reported the news, citing unidentified sources. Both companies let sports fans pay money to cobble together teams of athletes, then compete with other users for cash prizes. DraftKings’ founders famously started the company in a Watertown bedroom, then built it into a billion-dollar powerhouse. They are now headquartered in Boston’s Financial District. FanDuel dismissed news of a merger in a statement to Boston.com. “We get these questions every six months,” spokeswoman Justine Sacco told the site. “It’s total speculation, we’re not commenting on this.” DraftKings hadn’t commented publicly by Mon-
day evening. It’s been a tough year for the fledgling online fantasy sports industry. The companies have argued their contests are games of skill, while regulators in several states have argued what they offer is actually illegal gambling. Both companies have also grappled with payment processing companies that have refused to work with them for fear of running afoul of the law. The unnamed sources told Bloomberg that the companies see a merger as a way to join forces against those obstacles, while also saving money by not competing with one another. A punishing blow came in March when DraftKings and FanDuel agreed to stop doing business in New York, which was among their largest markets. Scrutiny of the industry ratcheted up last fall, when an employee at DraftKings made $350,000 in a matchup on the com-
pany’s rival site. After high-dollar rounds of funding, the privately held companies have both recently seen valuations dip. There has been lots of money to be made, though, in short-term online fantasy games. The flow of cash bankrolled a massive advertising campaign worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. Investors in DraftKings include Patriots owner Bob Kraft. Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey earlier this year completed online fantasy gaming regulations she called “the most comprehensive in the country.” The rules bar players under 21, limit per-player losses to $1,000 a month, and ban contests based on college sports. They go into effect July 1.

Hillary Clinton on Monday warned against demonizing Muslim Americans, while Donald Trump again called for banning foreign-born Muslims from entering the country after the Orlando, Florida, nightclub massacre that was the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history. “The Orlando terrorist may be dead, but the virus that poisoned his mind remains very strong, and we must attack it,” Clinton, the Democrats’ presumptive nominee for the Nov. 8 election, said in a speech in Cleveland. Trump was more critical, lashing out at President Barack Obama by questioning his motives for refusing to use the term “radical Islamic terrorism” in describing such attacks. He argued that both the president and Clinton were unfit to lead the nation. Omar Mateen, 29, the U.S.-born son of Afghan immigrants, armed with an assault rifle and pledging loyalty to militant group Islamic State, opened fire at a gay nightclub in Orlando early on Sunday. In proposals for dealing with threats of violence at home and abroad, Clinton called for increased efforts to remove Islamic State propaganda from the internet, more air strikes in the areas held by the militant group and better coordination with allies in the region. She specifically called out three U.S. allies — Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait — for allowing their citizens to fund mosques and schools
“It’s important that we stop the terrorists from getting the tools they need to carry out the attacks, and that is especially true when it comes to assault weapons like those used in Orlando and San Bernardino.” Clinton that train jihadists. She also called for stricter gun control laws, reiterating prior calls to prohibit those on terrorism watch lists from buying guns. She pointed out that while the Federal Bureau of Investigation was aware of Mateen as a possible threat, he was still able to legally purchase a gun. Clinton has called for a complete ban on assaultstyle guns. Clinton called on Americans to come together in the way they did after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. She pointed out that, at the time, she was a Democratic U.S. senator representing New York, while the U.S. president, New York governor and New York City mayor were all Republicans. “Americans from all walks of life rallied together with a sense of common purpose on September 12. … We had each others’ backs. We did not attack each other, we worked with each other to protect our country and rebuild our city,” Clinton said. “It is time to get back to the spirit of those days, the spirit of 9/12, let’s keep looking for the best within our country, the best within each of us.” Earlier, Trump ques-
tioned Obama’s motives for not using the term “radical Islam” in an interview on Fox News. “He doesn’t get it or he gets it better than anybody understands,” Trump said. “It’s one or the other, and neither one is acceptable.” Trump has for years suggested that Obama is secretly a Muslim. In 2011, when the wealthy businessman drew national attention for demanding that Obama produce another copy of his birth certificate, he told Fox News, “maybe it says he is a Muslim.” Obama is a practicing Christian. “We’re led by a man that either is not tough, not smart or he’s got something else in mind,” Trump said on Fox without being specific. “And the something else in mind. People can’t believe it. … There’s something going on. It’s inconceivable.” A Trump campaign spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment. White House spokesman Josh Earnest refused to address Trump’s comments directly, saying Trump’s remarks were “small” in the shadow of the massacre, and as such, neither he nor Obama would focus on them. US Navy: Second aircraft carrier enters Mediterranean The aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower entered the Mediterranean late on Monday, the Navy said, at a time when officials are raising alarm over Russia’s maritime expansion. The Eisenhower, also known as the “Ike, will relieve the USS Harry S. Truman carrier strike group which later this month heads back to the United States after an extended eight-month deployment. The Eisenhower, which also leads a strike group of cruisers, destroyers and warplanes, is scheduled to continue on to the Persian Gulf to participate in U.S. air strikes on Islamic State targets in Iraq and Syria. Exact details of its deployment have not been released. Fighter jets based on the Truman have been carrying out air strikes against Islamic State from the Mediterranean
since June 3. The Eisenhower’s deployment is part of a rotation of forces supporting maritime security operations around the globe, the Navy said. Its strike group includes two guided-missile cruisers, four guided-missile destroyers and nine air squadrons. The Navy said the presence of two carrier strike groups in the Mediterranean showed the U.S. commitment to safety and security, while sending “a strong message of support to our allies and partners in Europe. The move coincides with NATO military exercises across eastern Europe and Turkey that may raise tensions with Russia. Could O.J. Simpson be Khloe Kardashian’s father? An alleged jailhouse phone call between Khloe Kardashian and O.J. Simpson is once again raising questions about who the reality star’s father really is. According to the Daily Mail, a guard at the Nevada prison where Simpson is serving a 33year sentence for armed robbery claims he calls Kardashian weekly. “One day I could hear Khloe screaming in the phone,” says the guard, Jeffrey Felix, in a new documentary “Kardashian: The Man Who Saved O.J. Simpson.” “He said she was upset because she wanted him to take a paternity test, because the media is all over him, to see if O.J. is her actual dad — and O.J. told her ‘no.’”
Simpson even allegedly asked for his advice. “I said, ‘Why won’t you take it?’” Felix claims. “He said, ‘It’s a family matter, it’s none of the public’s business.’” Khloe herself has wondered — openly, on a 2009 episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” ALL — about PHOTOS GETTY whether IMAGES Robert Kardashian is her real

Another confessional Dashboard Confessional plots a comeback. RACHEL RACZKA @rachelraczka
rachel.raczka@metro.us
Dashboard Confessional’s anthemic sing-alongs have tugged and mended many a teenage heart following their 2000 debut “The Swiss Army Romance and 2003’s “A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar. Now 41, Chris Carrabba is staging a casual Dashboard revival of sorts, following the band’s brief hiatus and a successful run in the folk category with Twin Forks. Over the summer, Dashboard will join the Taste of Chaos tour with fellow emo era headliners Taking Back Sunday. Meanwhile Carrabba is making his way through a new Dashboard album, the first since 2009’s “Alter the Ending. He calls from Nashville, his new home base, to discuss the band’s future and their upcoming tour. What’s the status of the new album? Will it be released before the tour? I doubt it. I’m just working on the record and
actively writing and recording. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it came out later this year. I read something about this album having a narrative thread to it. You look for some kind of unifying thread, almost a narrative one in spirit, but it’s not intended to be a narrative album. When I put the songs together, you loosely look at where the story takes you, and that’s the question I ask myself when I’m making a record. When you say something like that in the age of digital media, do you ďŹ nd that sometimes the general concept or your intent can get garbled? I’m being cagey about the details of the album because I don’t know what the details are yet. A writer or a fan have the license to take a leap because that’s sometimes all they have to work with. I’m trying to avoid any commitment to what [the album] will be, even though we could put the album out right now, or even could have had it out for a while, but I still think it’s just around the bend. I’ll just be writing and recording until I don’t feel that feeling.
There were both personal and professional reasons to take time away from the Dashboard project, but it ended up being several years. What’s it like being back with the band? I think our energy level is back top where it was. We toured and toured and it rounded out to like 280 to 300 days a year for more than a decade if I count my band [Further Seems Forever] before Dashboard. I’ll be totally honest, we got burned out and I felt like our relationship with the audience couldn’t withstand us phoning in a tour while we figured out what to do next. I think the veil would have lifted. I didn’t think that would be fair to the audience. [Following the break], I didn’t know whether we were coming back, or when we were coming back, and it took a lot of steps to figure out how to come back. It took me going back to playing small clubs with Twin Forks and driving all night in a van to make it to the next show. Once you go back to your starting points, you realize how vital the process is to you and playing shows every night is the big reward.

Careers by design Universities are taking a new approach to careers that places casting a wide net above climbing a ladder. ALIZAH SALARIO @Alirosa
alizah.salario@metro.us
“What am I going to do with my life?” In a job market upended by a digital revolution and a widening chasm between the rich and poor, perennial platitudes like “play to your strengths” and “follow your passion” are no longer satisfactory answers to the above question — if they ever were. Pursuing a singular passion or a linear career path doesn’t make sense in today’s economy, suggests Kelly Ahn, director of career services at The New School in Manhattan, where a more fluid
approach to career building called “design thinking” is being embraced. “Our career counseling sessions start with the belief that everyone has the ability to design one’s own career path to be flexible, creative and personalized,” says Ahn. Design thinking is rooted in the idea that students (and professionals, too) benefit from developing competency in areas that may or may not be directly related to their major or field. Whereas in the past, students who experimented in multiple disciplines might be considered scattered dilettantes, today’s undergraduates are encouraged to get a wide range of professional skills and
experiences under their belt. In a shifting economy where bouncing between careers and jobs is the norm, being versatile is crucial. “The rise of artificial intelligence, robotic au-
ters, The New School is just one of many universities using design thinking to go beyond mere matchmaking between students and jobs. A design-thinking approach is experience
sional paths and expands their career longevity.” Design thinking was first popularized by the design firm IDEO, and used as a unique approach to problem solving in the professional world. In her counseling sessions, Ahn draws on the advice of IDEO founder David Kelly, who once said, “Creative confidence is the notion that you have big ideas, and that you have the ability to act on them.” Generating unconventional solutions and testing out ideas — no matter how seemingly crazy — is key to design thinking. “We help students reflect, frame their challenges, embrace ambiguity, generate options

tomation and machine learning have and will continue to impact all jobs,” says Ahn. “With the rapidly changing job market, working professionals need to develop and evolve their skills.” Though “transactional” services like reviewing résumés and cover letters are still staples of university career cen-
and individual-based, says Ahn. Students are encouraged to apply specialized skills to a broad range of industries and disciplines. It’s the “hybrid approach” of the generalist/specialist, says Ahn, that “gives [students] a competitive edge entering the job market, diversifies their profes-
and implement their ideas in a real life setting through various working and learning opportunities while they are students,” says Ahn. “This approach empowers students to continue their creativity so they don’t feel limited or stuck in one profession.”

EDUCATION To be competitive in today’s job market, flexibility is key. ISTOCK
So what exactly does design thinking look like in the real world? Consider Loliware, a biodegradable and edible cup made with organic cane sugar, tapioca syrup, seaweed and fruit created by Parsons School of Design (one of the New School’s seven colleges) graduates and
“Shark Tank” participants Leigh Ann Tucker and Chelsea Briganti. Or take an unconventional book cart designed by Parsons graduates specifically for prisons that helps to get a range of books into the hand of incarcerated individuals. In both cases, graduates used their specialized
knowledge to addresses broader issues of environmental sustainability and social responsibility. It was a classic — and effective — use of design thinking. For design thinkers, the question isn’t “What am I going to do with my life?” but “What aren’t I going to do?”

Protect yourself from the Zika virus

MAKE HEALTHY YOUR NEW HAPPY Pregnant or trying? Listen up. HAYLEY GREASON @MetroBOS letters@metro.us
Mosquitoes are annoying at the best of times, but when you can’t turn on the TV without hearing about a disease they’re spreading, the winged menaces are downright terrifying. Zika virus is a mosquito-borne illness that causes severe birth defects in fetuses of infected mothers. It’s been a problem for pregnant
women in faraway places like South America and the Caribbean, until now: On June 1, a mother infected with Zika gave birth to an infected baby in New Jersey. The baby was diagnosed with microcephaly — a head smaller than expected due to lack of brain development. There’s more. While once thought to be transmitted via mosquito bite, the World Health Organization recently announced Zika can also be transmitted sexually. Men can pass it to women during
unprotected sex, and women who become pregnant — or who are already pregnant when they are infected — can pass it to their fetuses. (It’s unknown if women can pass Zika to men during sex, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.) What does all this mean if you’re pregnant or trying for a baby? We spoke to Dr. Jesse L. Goodman, former chief scientist of the FDA and a member of the Institute of Medicine and renowned expert on infectious diseases, about

Zika and how to keep yourself safe. Is the Zika virus expected to affect the U.S. this summer? The main mosquito type that has transmitted Zika — currently there’s an outbreak in South America — is pretty widespread throughout the southern United States, especially further south. We have the mosquitoes here that can transmit it, but as of yet, that Zika isn’t in those U.S. mosquitoes. So what everybody is worried about is if it gets into that mosquito population. The mosquitoes could fly here, which is less likely given their short life span. [It’s more likely] for an individual who was infected elsewhere, like the Caribbean or South America, to get bitten by a mosquito here, which could then begin transmitting the virus here. But so far that hasn’t happened. The WHO released new information that the disease can easily be sexually transmitted. Yes. If a male tests positive, the CDC recommends that they should either use condoms or abstain from sex for six months to avoid transmitting it sexually. If a woman tests positive, and is not pregnant, it’s recommended that they protect against pregnancy, in this case for at
least two months. Pregnant women need to be concerned if their sexual partner has travelled to an area where there could be Zika. What’s the most important thing to know for people who either are, or want to get pregnant? People need to take it very seriously. The consequences for a fetus can be terrible. Although mosquitoes are the main way of transmitting the virus, it is also a sexually transmitted disease, and when it’s sexually transmitted, it can be a serious problem. Now people have to view another aspect of responsible sex, transmitting Zika, particularly to a woman who might be pregnant or be becoming pregnant in the future. I think women and men need to take the role of the male partner very seriously. How can people protect themselves? Do what is possible to reduce exposure to mosquitoes that might transmit disease. The second thing is education. Then, particularly, people who are planning a pregnancy should do everything possible to reduce their personal risk of exposure, like using a BPA approved mosquito repellent and trying to keep covered when outside. And people should avoid travel to
areas where we already know Zika is circulating such as in Latin America or the Caribbean. What are the symptoms? For most adults — other than pregnant women and their sexual partners or people planning pregnancy — it either causes no symptoms or it is an annoyance. Most patients who have the virus have no symptoms at all, they don’t feel sick. And then maybe one in five have a fever, aches, a rash, red eyes. In a much smaller number, something like 1 in 10,000 or less, get neurologic complications like Guillain Barre Syndrome. What’s a clear indicator that someone in the U.S. should get tested for the virus? Its recommended if people have travelled and developed symptoms, pregnant women who have travelled or moved to areas where Zika virus is known to be, it is recommended that they get tested. What are treatment options since there is no vaccination? There is no currently available medicine or treatment that is directly effective against the virus. [If a pregnant woman has a positive test] their pregnancy needs to be evaluated and monitored by a fetal health expert.

First place on the line at Fenway The Red Sox and Orioles will battle for first place in the AL East this week. MATT BURKE @burke_metro
matthew.burke@metro.us
Arguably the two best hitting teams in the American League will tangle at Fenway Park this week in what will be the Red Sox’ biggest series since they won the World Series over the St. Louis Cardinals in October of 2013. Yes, it’s been that long
since there was a “big game” on Yawkey Way. The Baltimore Orioles will be in town Tuesday through Thursday and both teams are dead even in the standings. The Sox and O’s both have a record of 36-26 and are tied atop the division. Not only are the two identical in record, both Boston and Baltimore thrive due to their offense but have not had consistent pitching so far in 2016. The Red Sox are Orioles are ranked 17th and 19th, respectively, in team ERA. The O’s have a beefy 4.14 ERA and the Sox own

a 4.22 staff number. For reference, the No. 1 team on the list — the Cubs — have a remarkable 2.62 team ERA. Adding to the “mirror” aspect of this series, David Price (7-3, 4.63 ERA) and Chris Tillman (8-1, 3.01 ERA) will be the starting pitchers Tuesday at Fenway. Both have glistening records but their ERAs aren’t all that impressive. Price has been steadily lowering his ERA since allowing a bunch of runs early in the season. It was 6.00 as recently as May 12 but was 5.11 by the end of May and is now at 4.63.
Baltimore bash The Orioles lead all of baseball in home runs this season with 99 on the year. The Red Sox have the 10th most, with 77. Mark Trumbo (20 home runs), Manny Machado (16), Chris Davis (16) and Adam Jones (11) lead the hard-hitting O’s in dingers.
Price has had three outings in a row in which he’s given up just two earned runs and he hasn’t given
up for than three runs in a game since May 7 against New York. “[The Giants game last week] was probably my best outing of the year,” Price said, via MassLive. com, about the game in San Francisco in which the Sox lost, 2-1, but in which he worked 8.0 innings and allowed just three hits. “I’ve definitely thrown the ball better. It’s still not myself by any means. To me, I haven’t dominated the way I know I’m capable of throwing. I know that these five starts when I was throwing the ball
extremely well I probably wouldn’t bee too excited about the way I threw the baseball that day because I know, even thought it’s gotten better, I know I’m capable of throwing the baseball a lot better than what I have.” The Sox’ best pitcher to date this season, Steven Wright (7-4, 2.09 ERA), will throw on Wednesday against Baltimore and the O’s will counter with Kevin Gausman (0-3, 3.45 ERA). Eduardo Rodriguez (11, 6.06 ERA) is slated to get the ball in the series finale on Thursday.
