3 things you need to know MAN WHO KEPT WOMAN CHAINED IN CONTAINER KILLED SEVEN

1

A South Carolina authorities said on Saturday that Todd Kohlepp, the suspect they arrested before discovering the body of a man whose girlfriend was found chained alive in a storage container, had confessed to killing six other people. The confession came a day after the woman who was found in the container told law enforcement that there were four bodies buried on the site. Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright said on Saturday night that Kohlepp had admitted to killing four people at a motorcycle shop in 2003 and also led authorities to the site of two more bodies buried on his South Carolina property. Wright said more bodies could be found, without elaborating. On Friday a body was found the 100-acre property in the town of Woodruff, northeast of Greenville, Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger said. REUTERS

US-BACKED SYRIAN ALLIANCE DECLARES ATTACK ON ISIS IN RAQQA

A U.S.-backed alliance of Syrian armed groups said it had launched an operation to retake the northern city of Raqqa, the de facto capital of Islamic State in Syria. The new offensive ratchets up pressure on the militant group at a critical moment, with its fighters already battling an assault by Iraqi security forces on their remaining Iraqi stronghold in the northern city of Mosul. A statement issued by the U.S.-backed Syria Democratic Forces (SDF), an alliance of Kurdish and Arab armed groups, said the campaign, called Euphrates Anger, had begun on Saturday evening. An SDF spokesman had earlier been quoted on Sunday saying it would start within hours. “The general command of the Syria Democratic Forces announces the blessed start of its major military campaign to liberate the city of Raqqa,” Jehan Sheikh Amad, an SDF spokeswoman, told a news conference. SAMSUNG TO LAUNCH AI DIGITAL ASSISTANT SERVICE FOR GALAXY S8

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd said on Sunday it would launch an artificial intelligence digital assistant service for its upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone, seeking to rebound from the Galaxy Note 7’s collapse and differentiate its devices. The world’s top smartphone maker in October announced the acquisition of Viv Labs Inc, a firm run by a co-creator of Apple Inc’s Siri voice assistant program. Samsung plans to integrate the San Jose-based company’s AI platform, called Viv, into the Galaxy smartphones and expand voice-assistant services to home appliances and wearable technology devices. Samsung is counting on the Galaxy S8 to help revive smartphone momentum after scrapping the fire-prone Galaxy Note 7, which will hit its profit by $5.4 billion over three quarters through the first quarter of 2017. Election Day in Massachusetts: What you need to know Find out what’s on your ballot, where to vote, and more. ERIN TIERNAN @MetroNewYork

erin.tiernan@metro.us

Will this be the year Massachusetts sheds its blue? Not likely, but who knows what could happen in this year’s anything-goes election. Here’s what Massachusetts voters need to know before casting their votes Tuesday. When are polls open? Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Anyone in line by 8 p.m. will be able to vote. Can I still register to vote? No. The deadline was Oct. 19. What do I need to bring to the polls? If you’re voting for the first time at your polling location, you’ll be required to show a form of ID that lists your current address. Election workers can also card you if you haven’t voted recently and are considered “inactive” status, or if you have to complete a provisional ballot because your registration status can’t be immediately verified. If asked to show an ID to a poll worker, you may show one of the following

documents that shows your name and address: —A Massachusetts driver’s license. —A Massachusetts-issued ID. —A recent utility bill. —A signed lease. —A rent receipt. —Any other document showing your name and address. Voters are also permitted to bring a list of candidates on the ballot and any key issues or specific proposals on the ballot. Where’s my polling location? Find out by entering your address at Sec.state.ma.us/ VoterRegistrationSearch. What’s on my ballot? In addition to the presi-

dential election, bay staters have four ballot questions before them. Question 1 asks voters to OK another casino license — the Category 2 license would not permit table games and limit the number of slot machines to 1,250. The license would only be available for a facility that runs a horse-race track. Question 2 asks voters to increase the charter school cap by 12 every year. New charter schools would be concentrated in districts where student performance on statewide assessments is in the bottom 25 percent. A yes vote on Ques-

tion 3 would prohibit farmers from confining pigs, calves and hens in a manner that prevents them from lying down, standing up, or turning around. Massachusetts businesses would also be barred from selling animal products that come from farms that do not adhere to these standards. Question 4 asks voters to legalize, tax and regulate marijuana for consumption by people over 21. In Boston, residents will be asked to adopt the Community Preservation Act, which would implement a 1 percent surcharge on annual property taxes (exempting the first $100,000 of valuation) in order to raise money to address affordable housing, open space, recreation and historic preservation needs. To view your ballot ahead of time, head to Wheredoivotema.com. What if have a problem casting my vote? As per federal law, “no person … shall intimidate, threaten, coerce … any other person for the purpose of interfering with the right of [that] person to vote or to vote as he may choose.” An expanded version of this story can be seen at metro.us

Card skimmers found at Primark in Boston Credit card skimmers were found on payment machines at five Primark locations across the Northeast, according to store officials. Primark said credit cards could have been compromised as early as July 29, leaving criminals almost three months to access customers’ personal payment information. The discount fashion retailer doesn’t believe all card transactions were affected and Primark contacted police on Oct. 17 when the devices were discovered, Philly Voice reported. Stores at King of

Prussia and Willow Grove malls, as well as at Downtown Crossing in Boston, Danbury Fair Mall in Connecticut and

Freehold Raceway Mall in New Jersey were affected. Credit card skimmers are devices that fit discreetly over card

readers in order to read and stream information when a card is used to make purchases. The devices are almost impossible to detect for the average consumer. Simple card skimmers do not work on EMV chip cards, but as of yet, it is unknown what type of skimming devices were used, pymnts.com reported. Primark encourages shoppers who used a debit or credit card at affected stores to monitor their billing statements. The Dublin-based retailer opened its first U.S. stores last fall and is poised for a stateside expansion. ERIN TIERNAN

POST-ELECTION EXTRA-SUPERMOON COMING Bolaris’ Weather Watch

JOHN BOLARIS

@weathersavior

Sometimes as a meteorologist, when the weather looks quite tranquil from coast to coast, you look for a little nugget, something to ponder. Not only can we look forward to a supermoon, which is a full moon with the closest approach the moon makes to the earth, but it will be an extra-supermoon as its perceived size and brightness will be the largest in almost a century. The last time we had an extra-supermoon was in January of 1948, also an election year. On Nov. 2 of that year, President Harry S. Truman, the Democratic incumbent, defeated Thomas E. Dewey, the Republican nominee. The 1948 election is considered to be the greatest election upset in American history. Virtu-

ally every prediction had Dewey easily defeating Truman. The extra-supermoon will occur on Monday, Nov. 14. Its size will appear to be 14 percent larger and its brightness will increase by 30 percent. If the skies are clear, it will be a brilliant display. If skies are cloudy, you’ll need to wait until September of 2034 for the next one. Now if you would like to take this into the astrological realm, astrologist Serge Bernard, who has been an astrologer since 1975, gives his bottom line on what it might or might not mean for the upcoming election. “I am anticipating that unexpected events are likely to happen between now, the inauguration and even after,” he predicts. “New key revelations have a high probability to be brought to light. All along this U.S. election has been unconventional and so its outcome is expected too. We are living in confusing times, more critical truths are likely to come out and more surprising events are to be

FBI director clears Clinton again of wrongdoing in email investigation James Comey backpedals from implicating Clinton for criminal conduct. AMANDA MIKELBERG @MetroNewYork

amanda.mikelberg@metro.us

In another surprise move, FBI Director James Comey wrote a new letter to Congress on Sunday stating that he and the agency have not changed their position that Hillary Clinton should not face criminal charges related to her use of private email. The letter delivered Sunday to Republicans on the House Oversight Committee stated that the FBI “has not changed its conclusions expressed in July with respect to

Secretary Clinton. “I write to supplement my October 28, 2016 letter that notified you the FBI would be taking additional investigative steps with respect to former Secretary of State Clinton’s use of a personal email server, Comey wrote. “Since my letter, the FBI investigative team has been working around the clock to process and review a large volume of emails from a device obtained in connection with an unrelated criminal investigation. In July, Comey concluded that “we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts. The majority of the emails found on a decadeold computer seized in a sexting investigation of

Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of Clinton’s aide Huma Abedin, were mostly duplicates of the emails reviewed previously, CNN reported. At a rally in North Carolina, Donald Trump continued to claim that his opponent is guilty of treason. “Mishandling classified information is a crime,â€? he said. “Hillary Clinton will be under investigation for a long, long time for her many crimes against our nation, our people, our democracy, likely concluding in a criminal trial,â€? Trump said in North Carolina. Supporters chanted, “Lock her up! Lock her up!â€? Comey faced an onslaught of criticism for apparently insinuating 11 days before Election Day

that the Democratic nominee engaged in criminal misconduct with regards to classified information.  â€œThe FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation,â€? and the agency will work to â€œdetermine whether they contain classified information.â€? Both Democrats and Republicans demanded more information from the FBI director. “By providing selective information, he’s allowed partisans to distort and exaggerate in order to inflict maximum political damage and no one can separate what is true from what is not because Comey has not been forthcoming with the facts,â€? Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta said.

FBI Director James Comey GETTY IMAGES

“We’re glad this issue is resolved, but for the record, this could easily have been learned before 1st letter was sent. Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon wrote on Twitter

Ryan Seacrest was the cutest man of honor

Blac Chyna goes off on Wendy Williams

INSTAGRAM/@RYANSEACREST

Ryan Seacrest took a break from hosting his radio show and executive producing “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” for a new role that he took just as serious: man of honor. People reports that Seacrest’s younger sister Meredith got married on Saturday in Mexico with her big brother by her side, allowing him to assume the role of a traditional maid of honor.

The day before the wedding, Ryan made sure that his sister’s dress was ready to go. And on the day of the wedding, he and sissy had a morning workout and he proudly flashed his man of honor placard. Ryan and Meredith are pretty tight, she is the executive director and COO of the Ryan Seacrest Foundation. But this put the icing on the cake for cute sibling love.

Talk show host Wendy Williams hit a sore spot with Blac Chyna during a segment on her show Friday. Wendy ranted about Rob Kardashian lacking confidence and being taken advantage of by Chyna and her mother for money and fame. Needless to say, Rob’s pregnant fiancee wasn’t happy. Blac Chyna posted a less than flattering picture of Wendy on her Instagram and let her have it in the caption. She raged: “You go out there talking about my family like you just hit the pipe backstage! When I decided to do this show I knew I would be letting the world see us. But your horse face a— woke up on the wrong side of the stable and decide to go overboard with your f— boy comments.” Chyna is set to give

birth next week at the luxurious CedarsSinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. It’ll cost around $4,000 a night according to TMZ. Whatever she’s doing with Rob is clearly paying off.

Besides a smugly stellar Instagram (and of course, the pride of doing your civic duty), wearing your “I Voted” sticker has been proved to inspire (and maybe guilt — just a little) your peers to vote, as well. Plus, it could snag you some perks Nov. 8. Here are four. ZipCar will give members a free ride on Election Day when they register to reserve ahead of time with their #DRIVEtheVOTE promotion. The company reasons that some voters might need to rush to the polls after work — thus access to a free ride from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. would be much appreciated (it is). No need to show proof of your voting — but theoretically, as the offerings are limited to “select Sweet Deal” rides, the promotion is best offered to those hoping to promote democracy. Brass Union is partnering with Captain Morgan to soothe your election woes that evening, with three rumbased cocktails (Bye Obama, Air Force Rum, and Running Mate). Wearing your “I Voted” sticker gets you a special gift from the Captain himself. Guests are asked to cast one more ballot for their fave of the three specialty cock-

Shake Shack is handing out a scoop of custard with proof that you voted (you can also just mention the promo, but that’s not really fair to anyone) at all five of its Boston-area locations. On the menu this week? Pretzel-dential Caramel. Pretty sweet. Craigie on Main is playing host to area bartenders — Jared Sadoian from the Hawthorne, Will Isaza from Tiger Mama, Sam Treadway of Backbar and their own Rob Ficks — to create past president-inspired cocktails. Attendees can vote for their fave, and anyone still wearing an “I Voted” sticker has the opportunity to snag a special prize.

In “Doctor Strange,” Benedict Wong plays the humorously humorless Wong, the fearsome guardian of a library of mystic books. MARVEL

Benedict Wong talks about reworking a questionable character for “Doctor Strange.” MATT PRIGGE @mattprigge

matt.prigge@metro.us

Benedict Wong quietly — very quietly — steals a chunk of “Doctor Strange.” He plays Wong, a stone-faced, intimidating guardian of the library of mystic books housed in KamarTaj, the headquarters for the film’s legion of goodly sorcerers. Wong was in the original Marvel comics, launched in 1963 and concerning an American neurosurgeon (played in the film by Benedict Cumberbatch) who becomes a powerful magician. However, Wong was originally more of an Asian stereotype: basically a manservant whose most requested task involved making tea. That had to be done away with for the splashy new movie. And so Wong — an English character actor whose CV includes “Dirty Pretty Things,” “Prometheus” and Kublai Khan on Netflix’s “Marco Polo” — wound up embodying a character with the same name but a very different function. For one thing, he makes for fine comic relief when paired with the more

emotional Cumberbatch. Wong, 45, talks to us about updating his character and mixing drama, blockbusters and comedy. Are you a comics person? No, I grew up on adventure books. I read some Marvel comics. I didn’t see many Asian superheroes. I remember last year having lunch with Chiwetel [Ejiofor] and he was telling me he was doing “Doctor Strange.” I checked it out on the internet, and there was a character named

GETTY IMAGES

Wong. I thought, “I should do this, just for the ancestors. I should be playing this part by birthright.” Wong became a very different character from the original comics, for obvious reasons. In the movie he’s more like a drill sergeant. I guess it was a very different time then. When I was reading the source material, that element popped up and sort of irked me. During preparation, I would have chats with [Marvel film producer] Kevin Feige and Scott [Derrickson, director], and they were all on the same page: This needs to be updated. Hopefully people find it refreshing that we’ve got this character who stands alongside Strange, this cheeseand-chalk couple that come and go. It’s definitely the better version of him. You can’t let those kinds of stereotypes fly now. We’ve been seeing more Asian characters on screens that are three-dimensional characters and not defined solely by their generic ethnicity. And we’ve got to keep on going, breaking out of those boxes. Everyone’s being stereotyped, and I think audiences deserve to be educated so that we add a little color to the world. We just want to be playing positive roles. I’m in a

very fortunate position. I also feel that many East Asian actors deserve a crack at the whip as well. Any actor of color asked by any journalist about diversity knows this is an ongoing conversation. Those questions also need to be asked for the gatekeepers: producers, casting directors. They need to be asked, “How can we solve this?” There’s a real frustration that’s happening. Part of the discussion of diversity, I’d argue, is not only to give everyone work, but so that we simply have a diversity of material — that we’re not always seeing the same things, the same faces all the time. It’s always good to move away from the formulaic. As an actor, that’s what you’re looking for in stories: something that hasn’t been done before. That’s where you’ll mine the gems. Other than that, it’s just dancing the same sort of rhythm. You have a very diverse résumé. You’ve done big budget films as well as small ones, theater and TV, drama and comedy. [Laughs] Yeah, the medical episode. I like to mix it up in terms of genres. It’s difficult sometimes for actors, because you’re trying to pay the bills as well. I’ve been very fortunate. I feel very blessed.

It’s a day before the election, and I’m desperately hoping this is the last article I have to write about it. As a country, we’ve suered so much over the last 18 months that the American Psychological Association had to put out election stress tips to help us cope. At this point, many of my friends, both online and o, have said they’re just tuning it all out now that the debates are over. Many of them

are not voting. No sentence is more frightening right now than “I’m not going to vote.â€? Are you kidding me? People fought and died for you to have this right! Other people leave the countries of their birth because they can’t vote there! We are, in eect, self-governed, as a famous women’s surage poster stated. Women fought so that would happen. You have this right and you’re not going to use it? I understand all about the Electoral College, but if the popular vote is wildly dierent, it can make a dierence. I’ve heard friends and family say, “Well, my state goes this way, so what’s the point?â€? Well, the point is you don’t get to bitch if you don’t participate. The point is this is your right, and if every eligible voter did their civic duty it could change everything! Look, whatever your political leaning, most people seem do realize that a person spouting hate speech, misogyny and anarchy probably isn’t qualiďŹ ed to be president. But your vote is bigger than just the presidency — you’re setting the course for the Supreme Court and national health policy. It may seem like things are leaning toward your candidate, but

&RANKLIN 3T $OWNTOWN "OSTON s

that’s the danger. Everyone else will go vote, so you can stay home, right? You know what happens when a lot of people think that? Nothing good. The side that is so ďŹ red up that they ignore the hate speech or completely embrace it certainly aren’t staying home! The thing that I think most people who don’t vote fail to understand is this: The election isn’t just about the president. You’re voting for things that aect you directly as well. There are congressmen and congresswomen. There are senators, local referendums that aect your state and your city. These can aect taxes, minimum wage, local teachers and so much more. If you don’t vote, this is all out of your hands. Heck, since a lot of people don’t do the research to see what’s actually on the ballot besides the president, many people leave the smaller stu blank. That means your vote makes more of a dierence here! Please vote. Please. Make a dierence. Be proud of your choice. Be proud that you’re participating in something people would give their lives for. Tweet me your “I Votedâ€? stickers! Next week, back to geek!

Help your child achieve academic success We have expert advice for keeping your student on track and motivated this year. SARA FEINSTEIN @MetroBOS letters@metro.us

Understanding how your child is doing in school and providing the necessary resources for her to get ahead is important for many parents. We spoke with Megan O’Connor, cofounder and CEO of the tutoring app Clark, for tips on supporting your child’s academic success.

Establish a relationship with your child’s teacher Parent-teacher confer-

ences are a great way to find out how your child is doing, but they shouldn’t be the only time you’re in contact with your child’s instructor. O’Connor suggests parents maintain communication throughout the year. “Teachers are the gateway to understanding how your child is doing,” she says, “but parents also need to reinforce what’s happening in the classroom at home in order for students to achieve ultimate learning outcomes.”

Look for outside resources “In a large classroom, there are 20 to 30 different students who all learn in different ways,” says O’Connor. “This is a great

HOW TO GET AHEAD way to be introduced to topics, but spending time learning outside of the classroom, and receiving individualized instruction, provides students with the personalized learning that they need.” For those who can’t afford tutoring sessions, O’Connor suggest parents look into the variety of affordable or free resources in their area, such as the Boys and Girls Club of America, or ask their

child’s teacher to set aside time in the morning for extra help.

Monitor your child’s down time While homework and study time is important when it comes to academic success, a student’s schedule should also incorporate breaks. “Understanding when a student likes downtime and TV time helps parents set

a schedule of when it’s best to sprinkle it in,” says O’Connor. Charting out a specific time slots for fun helps parents maintain control, while making sure that their child is not overly stressed — something that can ultimately detract from their learning.

Support your child’s academic success For many students,

preparing for tests can be a challenge, which is why it’s important for parents to offer frequent encouragement. “Giving positive feedback and celebrating academic successes along the way helps children believe in themselves and feel more prepared,” says O’Connor. For even more support, O’Connor suggests parents help their children study at home by testing them with flash cards.

the challenges of crafting compelling articles, and entering an industry that requires, more than anything, persistence. What made you decide to pursue a career in investigative journalism? Investigative journalism seemed like an opportunity to dive very deeply into particular social problems that I cared a lot about, but didn’t see getting a lot of media coverage. Temperamentally, I’m also someone who likes to take my time. I’ve never been someone who did daily news style journalism and had to parachute in. How did you get where you are today? A lot of people tell you to take a job where you’re aggregating a lot of news stories and putting tons of content out there. I took the opposite route. I found one particular project that I was deeply obsessed with — an article about workers who were being trafficked to U.S. military bases and subject to labor abuses — and that gave me the chance to really hone and polish a story that my heart was set upon telling. I also received the reporting award from NYU that

allowed me to travel and finish reporting the story in Afghanistan. When the article was done, I sent it to The New Yorker and a really remarkable editor was kind enough to give it a read. Do you have any advice for those looking to pursue this career? Instead of feeling pulled in a million different directions to publish constant streams of tweets, blog posts and articles, often my advice is to pursue one particular project with a great degree of passion. Increasingly, there’s this incredible network of nonprofit journalistic institutions that are helping to support writers with these kind of projects. After completing all of your research , how do you sift through the information and actually begin writing? I’m someone who is overly obsessive with my process and reports 50 times the amount of material I actually need. I always sit down and make a list of the five core things that I can’t live without in the story, and then I figure out how they are connected and how I’m going to weave them together.

What’s the most crucial skill for young journalists to develop? It takes an incredible amount of persistence. You can’t be willing to give up at the first rejection or to let a story go by the wayside because you’re not making immediate headway. It’s also crucial for journalists to have an open mind. I came at this as somebody who trained in anthropology and ethnography, and part of the fundamentals of that field is recognizing that it takes a deep investment of time and care to try to even begin to scratch the surface of another person’s world. Are there any books or authors you would recommend ? Katherine Boo is my absolute hero when it comes to narrative journalism. She’s someone who writes with such granular, obsessive compassion and detail, and spends a lot of time with sources, getting to know the ins and outs of their lives. David Grann is also another masterful storyteller. In terms of books, “Telling True Stories has been a really helpful guide both for me and for my students.

Week 9 roundup: Vikings stunned in overtime, Jets falter in Miami The Steelers, Eagles and Jets also left the field Sunday in bitter defeat.

(4-4) gained just 277 yards, and had just 36 on the ground. It’s the third straight loss for Pittsburgh and interrupts a four game losing streak for the Ravens, who had begun their season 3-0. Mike Wallace had a 95-yard touchdown reception, the game’s first score, against his former team.

LUKE MILLER @LukeFM7

With the Patriots on a bye, there was no shortage of action for New England football fans in Week 9. Here’s a brief look at what happened around the league Sunday afternoon: Detroit 22, Minnesota 16 (OT) Matt Prater nailed a 58yard field goal to send the game into overtime, and Golden Tate spun away from tacklers before sprinting into the end zone for a 28-yard score to win the game for the Lions (5-4.) For the Vikings, (5-3) it was their third straight loss after opening the season 5-0. Offensive coordinator Norv Turner resigned mid-week and was replaced with tight ends coach Pat Shurmur. Both Viking touchdowns came from just a yard out. They lost despite winning the turnover battle 1-0 and gaining more yards and first downs than Detroit. Dallas 35, Cleveland 10 The Cowboys (7-1) won their seventh straight game while outgaining Cleveland 423to-222. Rookies Dak Prescott (21-for-27, 247 yards, 3 TDs) and Ezekiel Elliott accounted for all of Dallas’ touchdowns on the day. Elliott’s 92 rushing yards added to his league leading total: his 891 yards through eight games is 135 more than DeMarco Murray holds second place with. Terrelle Pryor had the lone touchdown on the day for the Browns, (0-9) who remain the last winless team in football. Kansas City 19, Jacksonville 14 The Jacksonville

game was buoyed by Chris Ivory’s 107 yards, their first 100-yard runner of the 2016 season. The Jaguars fell to 2-6 on the season despite outgaining Kansas City 449-231. Four turnovers will cause that. The Chiefs (6-2) got their fourth win in a row without Alex Smith, Jamaal Charles, Spencer Ware and Jeremy Maclin, who left early after trying to play through a groin injury. Miami 27, New York Jets 23 Right after rookie Jalin Marshall scored to complete a Jets (3-6) comeback with five minutes to go, Miami rookie Kenyan Drake took the ensuing kickoff 96 yards to give the Dolphins (44) their third straight victory. Jay Ajayi, coming off two straight 200yard games, had a more subdued day in this one, finishing with “just” 111 yards and a 20-yard score. Ryan Fitzpatrick (17-for-28, 193 yards, TD, 2 INT) who had gone two games without an interception since returning to his start-

ing role, increased his league-leading season total to 13 picks. Baltimore 21, Pittsburgh 14

Ben Roethlisberger (23-for-45, 264 yards, TD, INT) returned to action just two weeks removed from meniscus surgery, but he and

the Pittsburgh offense were held in check all day while the Ravens (4-4) built a 21-0 lead before surrendering two late scores. The Steelers

New York Giants 28, Philadelphia 23 The Eagles (4-4) lost for the fourth time in their last five games and fell to 0-3 in the division. The Giants (5-3) won their third straight after opening up a 14-0 lead behind two quick interceptions in the first quarter. Eli Manning (22-for-36, 257 yards, 4 TDs, 2 INTs) threw four touchdown passes in three quarters against the Eagles; he had four in the previous four games combined. Rookie Carson Wentz set a personal high with 364 passing yards while attempting the comeback, but threw no touchdowns as late Eagles drives resulted in nothing but short field goals.

Rivalry renewed

The Bruins (6-5-0) welcome familiar foes the Sabres (5-4-2) to town Monday night, a 7 p.m. start on NESN. Buffalo will be without top skater Jack Eichel, who continues to nurse a high ankle sprain. GETTY IMAGES

Aries Don’t wait for someone else to take charge. Step up and do your thing. A positive change will surprise someone from your past. A new opportunity is apparent.

Libra Work on you. Self-improvement will bring happiness and satisfaction. Trying to change others will result in disappointment and an unwanted change in relationships.

Taurus Refuse to allow negativity and emotional stress to affect you. A creative approach coupled with kindness and understanding will be your ticket to success.

Scorpio Follow your desires, and make each moment count. Look for the good and the positive in every situation and act accordingly. Don’t give in to negativity or bullying.

Gemini Evaluate your current personal position, and discuss what you want to do with someone you trust and respect. Only then will you be able to make the best decision.

Sagittarius A business trip or meeting will result in an opportunity. Don’t be reluctant to make suggestions. An honest and emotional response will help prevent deception.

Cancer Do your own thing. Explore creative pursuits and consider attending an event that will broaden your outlook or teach you tricks that will speed up daily chores.

Capricorn Don’t let your emotions cost you. If you believe in what you have to offer, so will everyone you encounter. Be true to yourself, and focus on getting things done.

Leo Verbal confrontations will not be in your best interest. Stick to the truth, but don’t give the impression you know everything. You will gain more from listening.

Aquarius Think before you speak. Letting your emotions take control will not help you get your way. A moneymaking opportunity will require finesse and patience.

Virgo Stay focused on what’s important to you. Check out new ways of accomplishing old goals. Your persistence and ability to articulate what you want will serve you well.

Pisces A situation will require an intellectual, rather than physical, response. Protect yourself against being hurt or used by someone who has ulterior motives. EUGENIA LAST
