The minutes of the meetings of December 3 and 21 were read and approved as read. Upon motion of Mr. Dorsey, seconded by Mr. Spivey, the Sooner State Memorial Post #405 of Veterans of Foreign Wars was granted the use of Central High School auditorium for a benefit program on the nights of February 14 and 15 at the actual minimum cost of opening the building.

A demonstration of a stenotype machine was made by Mr. C. E. Cochran, at the request of Mr. C. Guy Brown, Commercial Supervisor, who recommended that a course in stenotypy be included in the curriculum of the Commercial Departments in the Senior High Schools.

Under the direction of Mr. E. R. Sifert, Principal of Central High School, and Mr. B. H. Thomas, Chairman of the Visual Education Committee, a demonstration was given of visual education equipment, showing pictures of the activities of various departments of Central High School, with a view to promoting visual education in the Oklahoma City School System.

January 7, 1935 To the Board of Education of Oklahoma City: The Education Committee and the Superintendent make the following recommendations for your consideration and approval:
1. That the Board of Education pay substitutes for teachers who are absent on account of death in the immediate family, as defined in the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Education. It is also recommended that the number of days of such remuneration shall be limited to three in the event the death and funeral are in Oklahoma City or Oklahoma County and not to exceed five days, if further travel is required for attendance at the service; the Superintendent to determine the necessity for such travel. It is further recommended that this shall be retroactive for the current school year.

2. That the following teachers, having fulfilled requirements for the probationary period are recommended for election as regular teachers at a salary basis of $85.00 per month for the second semester:

3. That John R. Dryden, on leave with CCC work, be reinstated for the second Reinstatement semester on his regular salary, on the basis of $114.40 per month. 4.
