Sterling & Wilson gets Kanpur Metro’s Third Rail Electrification Contract In a recent development, Shapoorji Pallonji Group’s subsidiary Sterling & Wilson Pvt. Ltd. i n a c o n s o r t i u m w i t h R u s s i a’s G S C Construction Company today emerged as the lowest bidder for the 32.385 km Kanpur Metro‘s phase 1 750 Volts DC Third Rail Electrification and Power Supply contract after officials from the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) opened financial bids submitted by four firms. UPMRC invited bids for this contract (Package KNPE 1&2) on February 20 with an estimated cost of Rs. 500 crore and opened technical bids in July to reveal four bidders. Technical bid evaluation was completed on August 25. The contract includes works ranging from Design, Supply, Installation, Testing to Commissioning of Receiving cum Auxiliary Main Sub Stations Including High Voltage Cabling from Grid Substations, 750 Volts DC 3rd Rail Traction System, 33kV Cable Network, ASS, TSS & SCADA System for Corridor-1 & 2 of Kanpur Metro Rail Project at Kanpur. The bid will have a deadline of 40 months.

Corporation (NCRTC) opened the financial bids submitted by different infrastructure companies. This elevated package includes building a viaduct from Sarai Kale Khan to New Ashok Nagar’s Down-Ramp, a bridge over the Yamuna River, an entry ramp leading to the Jangpura Stabling Yard (where a few Bombardier train-sets will stabled overnight for morning services), and two elevated stations at Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar. NCRTC had invited tenders for this package in February 2020 with an estimate of Rs. 1112 crore. Name of the firm

Bidding Company and Financial Bid Values: DM/CN/COR-OF/095: Construction of elevated viaduct from Sarai Kale Khan station to New Ashok Nagar DN Ramp including Jangpura Entry ramp and two Nos. of elevated stations viz., Sarai Kale Khan & New Ashok Nagar [including Pre-engineered steel roof structure but excluding Architectural Finishing of Stations] of Delhi – Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Corridor. Afcons Infra’s bid was Rs 56.54 crores (roughly 5.35%) less than NCRTS’ estimate, so I don’t see any issues cropping up during financial bid evaluation. When that is completed in the coming days, Afcons should receive an LOA with a deadline of 910 days (30 months) to complete all works.

A consortium of SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India) Pvt. Ltd. – AECOM India Pvt. Ltd. on Tuesday emerged as the lowest bidder for the Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) contract of a 62 km section from Kherki Daula Toll Plaza to SNB (Shahjahanpur – Neemrana – Behrod) of the 106 km Delhi – SNB RRTS line. NCRTC invited bids for this service in January 2020 and opened technical bids in June to reveal four bidders. The assigned contractor is expected to be on board for 36 months during which designs for the stabling lines at Manesar, main depot & workshop at Dharuhera, the line’s 62 km viaduct and seven elevated stations en route will be prepared. In addition, detailed planning will be performed for the five underground stations (INA, Munirka, Aerocity, Kherki Daula, Manesar) within Delhi and Haryana. The seven stations whose detailed designs will be prepared will be located alongside NH-48 at Panchgaon, Bilaspur, Dharuhera, MBIR, Rewari, Bawal and SNB.

Navayuga bags Rs 2072 cr contract for Rishikesh – Karnprayag Rail The Navayuga Group, an Indian multinational conglomerate headquartered in Visakhapatnam, emerged as the lowest bidder for the construction of the development of tunnels, bridges along with formation works. The bid comes under package – 3 in the connection between building a new rail line between Rishikesh and Karnprayag. The total distance of the proposed rail line is 125 KM which will ease the connectivity between two great places of worship. The two hill stations of Uttarakhand also have great importance as tourist destinations. The Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) estimated the cost of the tender was Rs. 1887.53 Cr. and The financial bid opening on August 24 2020.
