BACKYARD BIRDS The Aromas Grange will host a live concert featuring Backyard Birds and their blend of vocal harmonies and wide range of music. Backyard Birds perform overlooked songs in three-part harmony from Americana, rock and roll, country and soul, to jazz standards and more. This fundraising concert will benefit the Aromas Community Grange Hall. The Grange’s Roast Chicken Dinner, premium beers and wines and other refreshments will be available for additional purchase. VALENTINE’S PAINTING All ages are invited to create a heartthemed Valentine’s painting at Hollister Art Collab’s Valentine’s Paint Party. Parents are welcome to sit and paint with their child. All necessary materials will be provided and each painter will

TODDLER DANCE PARTY San Benito County Free Library presents its Valentine’s Day Toddler Dance Party. Little ones, ages 0-5, are invited to celebrate Valentine’s Day with music, crafts and snacks. SAFETY FAIR The “Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility” Safety Fair 2020 is hosted, developed and created by 4H member Samantha Slykas to help the public be more aware of their surroundings to stay safe. Free for all to attend, this event features presentations on bullying, harassment, substance abuse and mental health, as well as self-defense, first aid, wildlife safety and more. Booths with an assortment of information and supporters will round out the event. ARTS SHOWCASE The community is invited to attend the annual County Arts Showcase. This free event will include an exhibition of student visual and literary art, including painting, drawings, sculpture and mixed-media. MUSICAL AUDITIONS Actors ages six years through eighth grade are invited to audition for San Benito Stage Company’s production of Beauty and the Beast Jr. Auditionees should be prepared with a song and accompaniment track, wear comfortable shoes and bring a positive attitude. Performance dates for this family-friendly production are April 24-May 9. Auditions are Feb. 12 and 14 at 6pm or Feb. 15 at 9am at Mr. O’s Academy, 360 Sixth St., Hollister. DEMENTIA CARE WORKSHOP Caregivers of persons with Alzheimer’s or related dementias are invited to a free workshop featuring information and tips for providing personal care, including bathing, dressing and grooming. Participants will learn how a person with dementia interprets situations to better understand and anticipate challenging behaviors, and will leave class with stronger skills and greater confidence. CLUTCH PROJECT Family Threads Quilt Shop presents the “Necessary Clutch Wallet” class, where participants will create a unique wallet for carrying cell phones, checks, cards, coins and more. The finished project features closed ends that keep everything held inside safe and secure. This class is appropriate for beginners; participants are asked to have all pieces cut out prior to class. BUNCO FUNDRAISER South County Tail Waggers presents its Third Annual Bunco Event, “Mardi Paws Bunco Night.” Attendees will have the opportunity to win bunco and raffle prizes. They will also enjoy complimentary appetizers, desserts, refreshments and a no-host bar. Instructions will be available before the game begins for those that need it.
