WINE EDUCATION Learn how to exercise the five senses to enhance the enjoyment of wine as Aver Family Vineyards presents “Wine Education Class 101.” Aver Family’s Tasting Room Manager, Cindy Adams, will share the wine knowledge she has attained as a Certified Sommelier and Certified Specialist of Wine. Guests will be guided through the five senses approach to tasting wine, and the life of the vineyard and wine etiquette will also be discussed. Space is very limited. BLACK HISTORY The Gilroy Center for the Arts is hosting the sixth annual Black History Month Exhibit. SPEECH CONTEST The American Association of University Women (AAUW) presents “Speech Trek,” the 2020 AAUW high school speech contest. Contestants will express their thoughts with a five- to six-minute speech on this year’s topic, “Are Men and Women Truly Equal Today, or are the Suffragettes of 1920 Still Suffering in 2020?” Prizes will be awarded to the top three contestants. KITTEN SHOWER Cat lovers are invited to help Town Cats, a nonprofit cat shelter working to restore health and find homes for homeless cats, prepare for another busy kitten season.
