Made from the world's fastest growing plant, bedsheets made from bamboo are sustainable and environmentally- friendly as they use lesser water to produce than cotton. Bamboo sheets are soft, hypoallergenic, durable, as breathable as cotton and feels good against your skin. Grown in the warm, dry climates of North Africa, Egyptian Cotton is the most luxurious of cotton materials (others being Pima cotton, also known as Supima; and fabric from American Upland cotton, usually labelled as “100 per cent cotton”). Yarn spun from hand-harvested Egyptian cotton is the finest and boasts extra-long fibres, so this is what you’ll want if you’re shopping for super-soft, high-quality bed sheets.

Linen is a natural fibre woven from the stalk of a flax plant. It has superior durability compared to other materials, is extremely breathable and has a high moisture absorbency. While linen tends to be stiffer and coarser to the touch compared to cotton, it is 30% stronger and softens with each wash. Even on sultry summer nights, linen sheets allow airflow and absorb moisture to keep you dry and comfortable.

SILK

Lightweight and smooth with a luxurious feel, silk sheets invite one to snuggle in them all day. Rather than thread count, silk quality is measured by momme (mm), with a higher momme indicating higher quality. High quality silk bedding fall between 16 - 22mm, with many believing that 19mm provides the perfect blend of strength, durability, luxury and affordability. Its high-density weave makes them perfect to curl up in during cold weather.

TENCEL®

Tencel is a brand name for fabric made out of eucalyptus tree wood pulp. The pulp is dissolved and spun into fibres, which are woven together to create this extremely strong yet smooth fabric. It tends to be softer and more breathable than cotton, very durable, and naturally antimicrobial. Tencel is generally considered an eco-friendly fabric.
