Mette Ditmer has spent the last couple of years refining two new product categories as a natural extension to the strong, existing collection built on our core values. Therefore, we are proud to present a new series of tableware as well as a Christmas category this season – both evolved from Mette’s own craftings.

Uncover objects that focus on honest materials and sincere craftsmanship. In this collection we dive further into the decorative world of pattern design and softly shaped organic interior. Tactility welcomes the eye while the contrast in textures adds depth and dimension.

With the SAND GRAIN tableware and the versatile and decorative BY HAND bowl, Mette Ditmer aims to set the stage for people to create a personal touch on their table setting whether it is for a cozy brunch date, the tapas table or the daily coffee ritual. The series is made from honest materials with a timeless aesthetic as we believe that long lasting design should match long lasting quality.

It is the small things, the details, that makes the difference and the interaction between the different glazes and textures is one of the iconic signatures of the tableware series. The raw surface leads the thoughts to ceramic in its original

shape and the grainy surface on the outside invites to tactile exploration. The inside of each piece is adorned with crystal glaze, which undergoes a transformative process due to the high temperature when burning the tableware. As a result, charming freckles emerge and adds to the uniqueness of each item.

The combination of the two different inside glazes mutually complements and highlights one another, making it easy to mix and match the whole series for an even more personal and interesting look.

Everything we surround us with can be a source of inspiration – and nature is no exception. You can almost sense the ocean by looking at, and touching, the CONCH shell. Its beautiful and intriguing shape exudes calmness and will make a beautiful statement as a stand-alone piece, or combined with other treasured elements that makes a intriguing still-life.

Working in clay and giving up the urge to 100% control the process has uncovered GAIA, a unique product based on Mette Ditmer’s own ceramic crafting, turning a piece of clay into a beautiful woman with so much personality.

Marble is playful in its expression and makes every product its own with a clean cut look, whereas the CONCH almost allows us to feel the waves of the ocean, just by looking at is beautiful, organic shape.

According to Greek mythology Gaia the goddess was the mother of all life – in other words: Mother Earth. Mette Ditmer has sculptured this feminine and curvy woman with her own hands in clay. Giving up the urge to control the process and just give in to the creative process, the ongoing work in the studio and natural clay material has let to this stunning figure whose name could only be GAIA.

She invites to tactile exploration with her organic shapes, while she sits there casually leaned back enjoying the attention she truly deserves. She is a beautiful statement piece by herself but she is also willing to share the spotlight with other treasured items making a stunning still-life full of personality.
