Indianapolis, colloquially known as Indy, is the capital and most populous city of the U S state of Indiana and the seat of Marion County. Indy is situated in the state's central till plain region along the west fork of the White River. The city's official slogan, "Crossroads of America", reflects its historic importance as a transportation hub and its relative proximity to other major North American markets.

Lucas Oil Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, United States It replaced the RCA Dome as the home field of the National Football League (NFL)'s Indianapolis Colts and opened on August 16, 2008. [12] Significant past events included: Super Bowl XLVI (February 5, 2012)[25], NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four (2010, 2015, 2021), 2024 United States Olympic Trials, Swimming (June 15–23, 2024)[32]. In June 2023, Lucas Oil Stadium was announced to host all Saturday night events as part of the 2024 NBA All-Star Game festivities that occurred in February 2024 [40]

The Indiana State Soldiers and Sailors Monument is a 284 ft 6 in (86.72 m) tall neoclassical monument built on Monument Circle, a circular, brick-paved street that intersects Meridian and Market streets in the center of downtown Indianapolis, Indiana In the years since its public dedication on May 15, 1902, the monument has become an iconic symbol of Indianapolis, the state capital of Indiana.

With a permanent collection of 54,000 works, the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields is the city's primary art museum. It is among the largest and oldest art museums in the U.S., tracing its roots back to the Art Association of Indianapolis, which was founded in 1883. The Canal Walk is a 3-mile loop along the Central Canal that runs from White River State Park up to 11th street in Indianapolis, Indiana. It serves the downtown community and city visitors as the perfect waterside getaway for walkers, runners, bikers, and sightseers. The canal was dug in the early 1800s in an effort to facilitate interstate commerce and has grown into a must-see tourist destination.
