9291 So Beautiful, Sew Easy Milan Valance $29.00

Window #310 is a popular design from the “M’Fay Designer’s Digest”. These designs were created by mixing various patterns, and/or by changing an existing pattern. The valance design is actually two valances made the same depth, installed on separate boards. The top valance is installed 3” higher than the one underneath. The top valance also has a projection 1 1/2” deeper. This gives depth between the two valances. This is a soft, flat valance with pleats that “kick out” at the corners. The center of the board juts outward 4”, displaying the majestic valance beautifully. The board pattern and instructions are also included. The valance, as is, has a 20” deep point and 12” short point, and can be altered for any depth. There are complete instructions for a Straight Roman Shade. Instructions for the shade feature the Sure Shades™ lift system with roller tube and lift bands by www.rowleycompany.com. *Revised 2010

Sophia Valance So Beautiful, Sew Easy 9294

$29.00

This soft valance consists of a center section, two horns, and two side sections. All pieces sew together to create one valance before attaching to the mount board. The valance depth is 18” at the center. The horn is 12 1/2” at the shortest point. The valance sides are about 49 1/2” deep. Depth alterations are included, but all pieces must alter the same amount. The pattern will fit windows 56” to 66” or wider. It is not recommended for more narrow windows. The wide sides would close it up too much, and the center scallop section would have to be too small in scale. The center section can be 14” to 24” wide. You can alter it to be wider, or you can use more than one, with horns in between. The side section finishes 21” wide (per side) on front of the board.

This soft valance is made of two separate parts. The optional underlay is also separate. The underlay can attach behind, at the center of the valance where the two pieces meet. The pattern will fit windows 48” to 68” wide. The valance has a 9” short point. Using the underlay, it has a 14” short point. The tapered sides hang about 49” deep.

Persnickety Valance

For large windows, repeat as many center sections as needed. Select section sizes of 12” or up to 20” wide. Using the patterns (as shown), a 48” valance is the smallest. For small windows, consider using two side sections and no center. 33” will be the smallest. Alter the depth of the valance at the top. The width of the side and center sections can be altered but you would have to reshape the curves.

Our “Trendy Treatments” are a group of patterns designed for those with limited experience sewing home decor items. It is required that you have good sewing skills. You should feel confident and comfortable at the sewing machine.

Order Form - 4 Ways To Order

But what should I charge?” has long been the cry of interior designers, decorators and soft goods fabricators. Many of us entered the interior design industry because of our love for design, textiles and/or sewing, yet we are often unprepared to put a value on our time and talents. In 2000, Kitty Stein answered with her inspiring book Price Your Work With Confidence! Kitty Stein was a 24-year veteran of the window coverings industry when her book was first published. She earned her business education through hard work and research. Her goal in writing Price Your Work With Confidence!was to encourage all small business owners to develop a strong business mindset and to stop working long hours for little gain! Price Your Work With Confidence! has done this and much more. It has taught many small business owners, myself included, the importance of keeping timings, watching the basic expenses, and making the necessary investments to grow a business. Step by step, Kitty walks us through the accounting worksheets, explaining in clear and concise words the accounting terminology, the necessity of compiling the numbers and the steps towards building a price list. As a result, we have experienced the joy of increased confidence and increased profits. Price Your Work With Confidence! 2nd Edition will take you to a new level of business acumen and awaken you to a world of possibilities in growth potential for yourself and your business. While written for the design industry, the information in Kitty’s book is timely and universal to all businesses. It is my honor and pleasure to re-issue this book to a new generation of window coverings professionals and other small-business owners. The book has been updated to reflect today’s resources and online business networking. The new workbook format is praised as being user-friendly with worksheets that are easy to access and copy. This will always be Kitty’s book and she will always be a mentor and champion for the window coverings industry. Kitty’s wisdom is served with a strong faith in God and delivered with a very firm hand. Her love for the industry and everyone in it overflows on every page, and her legacy continues in this jewel of a book. All the formulas are approved by a CPA. 29 worksheets in the back of the book coincide precisely with all formulas in the book. Photocopy the ones that apply to your needs and fill in the blanks with your business numbers.
