KNOWLEGDE FOR THE FUTURE MFF Thailand at Marine Science Conference 2010 To promote the International Year of Biodiversity 2010 and showcase MFF work in Thailand. This conference led by Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) together with other 16 organizations. The event was held in Phuket during 28-30 June 2010. The participation of MFF in this conference was planned and endorsed by National Coordinating Body of Mangroves for the Future Thailand (NCB). MFF occupied a booth for 3 days to display posters from different projects (two large projects and posters from BMZ) and disseminate brochure and other communication products. On the last session of the conference on the 30th June 2010, MFF host the seminar forum and invited traditional dance play by school students from Nakorn Srithammarat. Objective of the seminar To promote the work of MFF on the partnership based approach to conserve coastal biodiversity for sustainable livelihood of coastal communities. Team up - MFF Thailand, IUCN TH, Wetlands International Thailand Office (WI-TO), Sustainable Development Foundation (SDF) The booth, there were more than 20 booths from various organizations presented at the conference. MFF occupied the space of 5x7 m2. There were number of visitors at MFF booth (approx 160 individuals). There were posters from two MFF large projects “Reversing Environmental Damage through Community Focused Sustainable Livelihoods in Surat Thani province, southern Thailand” by WI-TO (left)
and “Ecosystem-Based Integrated Coastal Resource Management through Multi-Stakeholder Participation in Southern Thailand” by SDF (right)
Knowledge products from “Coastal ecosystems rehabilitation and conservation in Thailand (BMZ)” were displayed and received great attention from visitors.

The seminar session on 30th June 2010, Grand balloon, Royal City Phuket Ms. Ravadee Prasertcharoensuk, Director of Sustainable Development Foundation and one of the NCB member was facilitated the one hour seminar “success from partnership in coastal conservation: case studies from Mangroves for the Future� The were six invited speakers;

Prior to the seminar, MFF organized special performance “Li-gae Hoo-Loo: Traditional Dance and Singing� by Baan Nai Tung School, Nakorn Srithammarat.
MFF also invited Woman Group from Phuket to make the dessert for the participants at the conference. One of the intergradients of the dessert was made of the propagules of Bruguiera cylindrica

Mangroves for the Future - Thailand Communication material (Shirt and USB) were distributed to the participants and the Pandanus product handmade from Small Grant were given and received much appreciation by the participants.
Next step – Documenting and integrate the lesson learns from the small grants and large grants and sharing‌
