The Cabin in the Woods:
We also see the garment of clothing seems to be smock like and it dirty, but again, white, which is a common theme in horror films.
The creature seems to be wet, or dirty, this gives off the impression that they aren’t of this world.
The image of the door would imply that there will be a jump factor soon after. It seems to be old and creaky and this would imply that there is an old myth within the cabin.
The lack of clarity in regards to its face leaves the audience to imagine the character which will induce fear.
The fact the door isn’t straight, and is slightly open is another fear factor of this shot.
A creature emerging from the water creates fear and mystery along with the silhouette. The shadows leave the place to the imagination.
We have the establishing shot of the secluded cabin. The fact we see it from a low angle allows the audience to see the density of the woods.
The stillness of the water also contrasts the chaos within the rest of the film, and also gives the impression of a loud silence.
The darkness of the cabin allows it to be left to the imagination but also that it is unsafe.
The blood on this character implies evil.
The regular dress of the victims, contrasting with the garments of the creatures shows a separation of world’s and characteristics.
