Laugh a Little Here is the story of an Imam who got up after Friday prayers and announced to the people:"I have good news and bad news. The good news is, we have enough money to pay for our new building program. The bad news is, it's still out there in your pockets." www.islamcan.com

Women’s Committee of Masjid Al Ittihaad, sponsored and coordinated an International Muslim Bazaar, was held at the Masjid on August 15th, 2009. Al Hamdu Lillah it was a success and our surrounding neighbors Muslim and non- Muslims got to enjoy and experience different parts of the world from an Islamic perspective. There was a beautiful custom clothing, art, food, jewelry and other interesting displays. The Youth Group provided games and activities. We also had visitors from other non-profit organizations such as the "BOYS and GIRLS Club of America (Vista branch). There was even a history lesson given on the Indigenous African-American Muslims that came here thru slavery until the start of the Nation of Islam. If you did not make it this year, we missed you and For more information, will see you next year In Shaa-Allah. please call Martha Syed at (760) 724-6351 or Maryam at (760) 806-7888

From Martha Syed, member of Women’s committee of Masjid Al Ittihaad at Vista (Where most Muslim families come as far as Encinitas all the way through to Escondido.) I would like to send out an open invitation to the ladies in our community in Vista and throughout North County to come and participate in our once a month Tea gathering, to get educated about Islam, plan activities for the sake of Allah, support and promote the Masjid Youth Program. For more information, please call Martha Syed at (760) 724-6351 or Maryam at (760) 806-7888.

What happens when you receive an important letter , do you put it away or open it and read it? I believe, all of us would open the letter and read it. If you don't know how to read, you would find someone who could and let him read it out to you. In short, we would take the letter seriously as i t c o n t a i n s i m p o r t a n t i n f o r m a t i o n . On the other hand, how do we treat the Holy Qur’an, which is an important message from Allah? Our future of this world and the hereafter is in knowing this message. But, do we read the Qur’an? May be only a few of us. Instead of reading, we cover the Qur’an with a beautiful cloth and put it away on a high shelf. Would we do the same with the above mentioned important letter? Not at all. So, it's time that we realize the value of the Qur’an and read it often to know its important message. www.islamcan.com

And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain); and We send down pure water from the sky. That we may give life thereby to a dead land, and we give to drink thereof many of the cattle and men that we had created. And indeed we have distributed it amongst them in order that they may remember (the Grace of Allah,) but most men refuse to accept the Truth or Faith and accept nothing but disbelief or ingratitude.

AL-HAMDU LILLAHI RABBIL 'ALAMIN

This is a verse from the Qur'an that Muslims recite and say many times per day. Other than being recited daily during prayers, a Muslim reads this expression in every activity of his daily life. The meaning of it is: "Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds." A Muslim invokes the praises of Allah before he does his daily work; and when he finishes. He thanks Allah for His favors. A Muslim is grateful to Allah for all His blessings. It is a statement of thanks, appreciation, and gratitude from the creature to his Creator.
