Cities like Milan which host bunch of millions of inhabitants have same characteristics. They are a mixture of two main layers. First is dedicated to the state of remaining unchanged which is more related to their cultural-historical aspects. Mostly, this layer is occupied by the tourists and travelers who are living in these cities for just few days. While the second layer, is dedicated to the state of constantly changing and moving which is more connected to the modern aspect of them. In most of the modern cities there is no time to stop and rest for the citizens. You need to reach the trains and buses on time, work for long hours, eat as fast as possible carrying this hope to find some minutes not to think about this extremely exhausting cycle.
1.Stop motion is an animation technique that physically manipulates an object so that it appears to move on its own.
Piazza Duomo is the main attraction of Milan and even the north Italy. Many people travel along the Europe and across the globe to visit Milan for the sake of the majesty of Duomo. Additionally, it is located at the center of the city. Hence, it is nearby lots of important offices, companies etc. Moreover, you need to pass through the Piazza Duomo to reach other parts of the city. Consequently, there is an overlap of two different quality of life there in the square. Where we can see citizens and tourists treating in two thoroughly different direction. First is dedicated to the tourists who are visiting the Piazza Duomo for the first time and become unable to blink eye, just stared at the magnificence of the Duomo. Some try to sit, lay on the ground, looking at it through the viewfinder of their cameras, picture themselves and Duomo through a same frame in their selfies and ritualize the presence of Duomo and realization of their dreams in a way. They are like immigrants in a broad sense who are facing their settlement for the first time. The second is about so-called Milanese who are the citizens of this city. It seems that they became numb to this location. Living in Milan and
facing everyday routines change their perception of things which are mysterious in some cases. They resemble immigrants too, who are seeking a moment to rest and get rid of displacement. Piazza Duomo became a normal element for them, just like many other fragments of this urban structure. This Stop-Motion effect is daily happening around the tourist attractions of all the metropolitans including Milan. It seems that people are all immigrants who are wandering around but in distinct types. Milan hosts millions of inhabitants from various kind in terms of race, sex, religion and nationalities. At a glance, people are merged together, however when you look thoroughly, there is a clear distinction between them.
