THE POWER OF PROTECTION Introducing BioCote® Technology
Time, money, heart and soul – any type of construction project requires various types of investment. All the project details are curated to achieve a specified brief and once it’s done – we want to reap the rewards of what we’ve put together for as long as possible; we want to build it to last!
For over 25 years, BioCote® antimicrobial technology has been integrated into a broad range of construction products. Such as wall coverings, floors & carpets, paints, adhesives, door handles, wiring accessories, radiators, worktops, and ceiling systems These products are enhanced with extra advantages, making them resistant to the adverse effects of microbes such as bacteria and mould, which prolongs their overall functional lifespan.
Exploring the effects of microbes on everyday products and surfaces
Microbes, such as bacteria and mould, can be found almost anywhere and when left untreated can multiply, doubling every 4 to 20 minutes. Neglecting proper cleaning procedures and recirculated air can contribute to the spread of microbes from one surface to another. Untreated products can result in discolouration, unpleasant odours, and decreased product quality.
When products have been integrated with BioCote® they have the power to disrupt the growth and reproduction of these microbes. This means that when bacteria lands on a BioCote® treated surface, the technology interferes with the enzyme production stopping the microbes from reproducing and replicating.
Built to last!
BioCote® technology compliments cleaning practices and will work 24/7 for the lifetime of the product. Scientific research has shown that materials containing BioCote® are particularly effective against a wide variety of microbes and can control bacteria and mould.
Products treated with BioCote® offer many benefits:
• Decrease microbes by up to 99.99%
• Reduce the potential for crosscontamination
• Prevent mould growth
• Preserve freshness
• Extend the product’s lifespan by guarding against microbial colonisation and minimising material degradation
Products packed with BioCote® Antimicrobial Protection
From construction, decorating, and through to fitting – innovative brands are using BioCote® antimicrobial protection to fulfil project goals by providing products that are not compromised by microbes. These include pipes from Polypipe, wall claddings from BioClad, sealants from Hodgson Sealants, laminate from Abet Laminati, shower products from Mira Showers, paints from HMG Paints Limited, specialist flooring from John Lord and many more products to outfit your home from furniture to kitchen supplies. www.biocote.com

Windmill restoration turns to Bradite
A 300-year-old windmill that now provides luxury accommodation for short-break holidays has been refreshed with Bradite paints.
The structure sits atop Blackthorn Hill at Bicester in Oxfordshire. The Grade II-listed building is a stone-built tower mill that was first converted into a house in 1999. In recent years it has been transformed into a luxurious holiday let by its new owner, Alan Chapman.
Looking for help and advice for the protection of the exterior, he turned to Bradite.
“The Bradite team recommended using Bradite One Can for external walls, due to its quick-drying abilities and longevity”, Alan explains.
Both were important considerations, especially as Alan painted the external window frames at the top of the tower himself, which he described as “not an easy job and not for the faint-hearted.” A durable coating was required so that the finished result would stand the test of time www.bradite.com
Bradite One Can was the ideal choice for the project, as it provided an easy-to-apply yet tough and professional finish.
