Framing the view

Trearddur Bay Holiday Home

When Rebecca and Ben Wilson decided to turn their dream into a reality by purchasing a holiday home in Trearddur Bay, one of the main requirements was that the home needed to be in a picturesque location with panoramic views across the sea.

Upon finding their dream home, Rebecca, a lawyer turned interior designer, along with her husband Ben, got to work turning their new investment into a comfortable and stylish holiday rental property. The house needed new electrics, a new roof, new plumbing and heating, but most importantly, it needed remodelling in order to get the most out of the incredible views across the bay.

After extensive research, the Wilsons came across Weru UK, a North West based glass and glazing manufacturer, and the company couldn’t have been more helpful in ensuring the couple achieved their vision, both within their budget and tight time constraints.

Graham Lindsay, Managing Director of Weru UK said, “It was a pleasure working with Rebecca and Ben to open up their home with a selection of highquality doors, windows, and sky lights in order to maximise their views of the bay and allow for the natural light to penetrate through their home.

“Over the past few years, there has been a significant increase in homeowners choosing to renovate their properties, rather than relocating to a new home. With the ‘improve rather than move’ mentality, high-quality windows and doors easily enhance properties and customers can feel assured that they are investing long-term in their homes.”

According to Weru UK, one of the most popular window options is the Afino-tec system, which the Wilsons used throughout their home. The windows and doors come with a tilt & turn operation, laminated triple glazing and a triple sealed finish to provide an exceptional performance against the elements, which are especially beneficial for coastal and more exposed locations.

Rebecca said, “We chose Afino-tec windows due to their energy efficiency and stability, and we are able to access more light and visibility with the larger window sizes offered.”

Rebecca and Ben chose French doors in their kitchen, which provide the same qualities as the Afino-tec windows with an added tilt function to allow secure ventilation.

Rebecca said “The views across the bay are ever changing with the tides, the light, and the wind. We just love sitting
