(o) PUBLIC BUSINESS EXECUTIVE COUNCIL BUSINESS MOTION WHEREAS the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) as mandated by Section 41 of the Tobago House of Assembly Act 40 of 1996 debated, approved and transmitted to Cabinet its Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for fiscal 2019 within the stipulated time.
AND WHEREAS in fiscal 2019 the Tobago House of Assembly was allocated $ 2.24 B or 4.3% of the national budget to manage the affairs of Tobago.
AND WHEREAS the Minister of Finance in his 2019 budget presentation has signalled his support for the Assembly to finance its capital expenditure by way of borrowing in accordance with Section 51 (b) of the THA Act; AND WHEREAS the Executive Council is required by Section 25(2) of the Tobago House of Assembly Act to do all in it’s power to manage the affairs of Tobago in order to advance the islands development agenda and to increase the island’s contribution to national economic activity.

BE IT RESOLVED that this House accept the measures outlined by the Executive Council to manage the affairs of Tobago for fiscal 2019 to advance the island’s development momentum, foster economic growth and development, support economic diversification and increase Tobago’s contribution to national economic development.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this House accept the recommendations and policy measures of the Executive Council to facilitate the growth and expansion of all sectors of the Tobago economy to enable all Tobagonians to participate meaningfully in Tobago’s economic landscape.
