The theory of the big bang is of an explosion from a single point, immense heat, expansion and cooling. Let’s add gravity in for good measure...
T
he other theory for the purpose of this article which is going to take a leap of your imagination is that the same process that started our Universe at least 14 billion years ago is still in existence today. I am talking about an Idea. It starts as a tiny dot of inspiration and with intense focus or heat, the idea expands to encompass lots of other thoughts from the original idea, then the cooling as you settle and refine your idea into a plan.
One such person who believes in the Power of the Universe is Tracey Cooper. She has used her belief to forge a path in the world that has taken her on a journey of highs, lows, enlightenment, learning and ultimately success. Her story is one of inspiration and determination, through adversity and hard times. She is the founder and owner of Lucia Victoria Interiors.
I added gravity to show that even with the idea expanding it still stays Her “big bang” moment was about 4 years linked to the original thought in the ago and it started out by following the expansion of her thoughts, and through first place. This leads us seamlessly onto the main feature, the Power of the Universe when being used by individuals. There are some people who will know all about asking the Universe for answers or for what they require in life, for others it’s just what other people that believe in that kind of thing do.

magine parking up in a restaurant car park, feet crunching on the gravel as you step up to the building, and having the most amazing smells venture outside to find and draw you in. The excitement is already built up by this point and anticipation is at an all-time high… this is what our experience of going to the Oak on the Green is like. You step inside and feel the comforting darkness envelop you as your eyes adjust to the rustic, homely and welcoming surroundings. There is a buzz of chatter and you are drawn into the ambience of this extremely popular Kent Eatery. The staff are friendly and engaging, and all seem happy in what they do. The menu in our opinion is cooked to an amazing standard – if only we could cook like this!! There is a varied menu of differing cuisines. The portions are very generous, but ultra-tasty and comforting. Our “taste-sensation” of the day was the Very Cheeseburger with the creamed spinach (not for all, I am sure, but we like to try these things out!) The only negative (if one) is that you know you are full, but you cannot stop eating the deliciousness…! This takes some self-control, let me tell you!

So, what is Oak on the Green’s philosophy which makes it so popular with all? We spoke to Blake Hegarty who runs the restaurant day to day. He has been part of the Oak on the Green for 5 and a half years, and says their main goal is to make sure people enjoyed their experience and leave happy. CALORIE CRUNCH - (to burn off 1 Cupcake) • Bokwa/Zumba (high intensity) – 21 minutes • Jog @ 5mph for 23 minutes • Swimming at a moderate pace for 26 minutes • Cycling leisurely for 45 minutes What you need to make approximately 16 cupcakes 175g butter, softened 175g light soft brown sugar 3 medium free-range eggs 1 tbsp milk 2 tsp vanilla paste or extract 115g self-raising Flour 85g wholemeal Flour 1 tsp baking powder Approx 16 walnuts (Keep aside 16 halves (8 whole, cut lengthways) for decoration, chop remainder roughly) 2 tbsp raisins or sultanas for more sweetness *extra juicy ones do well in these recipes 2 tbsp sunflower seeds

Walnut, Raisin & Sunflower Seed Cupcakes These not too sweet cupcakes are deliciously moreish, with extra fibre added with the wholemeal flour addition. Quite high on the calorie and fat scale but nice to curb sweet cravings and satisfy hunger. You can freeze the batter if you do not wish to make the full quantity, or make them all and give the extras to family and friends!
Pre-heat oven to 190⁰C, Fan 175⁰C, Gas Mark 5. Line cupcake baking tray with cases. 1) Cream butter and sugar together with a hand mixer, or food mixer until fluffy and light. 2) Mix in eggs slowly until fully incorporated. Mix milk & vanilla together and whisk until combined. 3) Sift in the 2 flours & baking powder, ensuring you pour in the wheat-germ that remains in the sieve. Fold into butter mixture carefully. 4) When fully mixed, fold in the dry fruit/seeds/nuts. 5) Spoon the mixture evenly into the cupcake cases. 6) Top each with a walnut half, avoid pressing into the mixture. 7) Bake in the oven for 15-20 mins, until golden and risen. Leave to cool a few mins in the tray, then transfer to a wire rack. 8) Then… eat! Nutrition Info per cupcake Calories – 208, Fat – 12.3g, Protein – 3.5g, Carbohydrate – 22.2g

Mi Winter Warmer Parsnip & Roasted Butternut Squash Soup This sweet, spicy (if you choose), filling and tasty soup, is great as a starter or snack. Full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants; yet decadently indulgent if you add cream. What you need to make 4 portions 1 tbsp olive oil 1 medium butternut squash 2 onions 1 tbsp ground coriander 1 tbsp fresh or dried coriander leaf 2 tsp ground cumin (optional – 2tsp cayenne pepper for spiced version) 500g parsnips, peeled & chopped 1 litre chicken or vegetable stock salt & pepper 150ml double cream (optional) Garnish with a few drops of cream/sour cream/crème fraiche, cayenne pepper (or paprika if you don’t like it hot) & fresh coriander (just a serving suggestion)
Preheat oven to 200⁰C/Gas Mark 6. 1) Cut the Butternut Squash in half lengthways, scoop out the seeds, place skin side down on tray and drizzle or spray with a little oil (no more than ½ tbsp.) Pop in the oven to bake for approximately 40mins, or until soft. 2) While the Squash is in the oven, heat the remainder of the oil in a large saucepan. Add chopped onions and cook gently until soft and glassy. 3) Add ground coriander, coriander leaf and ground cumin (also the cayenne if you wish) and gently fry with the onions to release the flavours for approximately 30 seconds. 4) Add 750ml of the stock to de glaze pan and add in parsnips and simmer for approximately 20 minutes (or until parsnips are tender). 5) When Squash is cooked, remove from oven and leave until cool to handle (no burnt fingers please!). Scoop out the flesh, discarding the skin and add to a blender or the saucepan. Either blend in the saucepan or add parsnip mix to blender and combine until smooth. Add in cream here if you choose. Use the 250ml of stock to loosen the mix if too thick. 6) Re-heat mix gently before serving. Serve garnished with a drizzle of cream (or sour cream, or crème fraiche), with a sprinkle of cayenne pepper and fresh coriander. 7) This freezes well, so can be made well in advance of dinner parties and defrosted and reheated before serving.

rystal healing is an alternative medicine technique that employs stones and crystals as healing tools. The practitioner places crystals on different parts of the body, often corresponding to chakras, or places crystals around the body in an attempt to construct an “energy grid”, which surrounds the client with healing energy. The stones are placed in the area of the chakras, the colour of the stones may be chosen so as to correspond to the colour which is said to be associated with the corresponding chakra. Stones are used at the feet to try to “ground” the individual, or held in the hands. I
heard the following recently “I am is a statement of being”. I thought wow this is a very powerful statement and it really made me stop and think and ask myself some questions. A statement of being, how beautiful, it is a simple statement of existence. “I am” is a statement of truth.
Perhaps I should explain the context of the conversation that I was having. The speaker was explaining the format for a monthly meeting that I will be leading and he said when you introduce yourself you must say “I am the Leader” of this very wonderful and remarkable Group Meeting. He asked me to specifically promote myself with these words. The point being I am the Leader who is someone that should be looked up to and respected but without ego.
A few of the things that I have dreamt of and have now achieved; • Become a Scuba-Diver • Perform a Sky-Dive • Voyaged on a round the World Trip • Trekked in the Himalayas • Stroked a Dog (I had an inexplicable fear of them) • Own my own home • Work for myself • Read The Alchemist
There have been many times when I have hoped and dreamt about undertaking or achieving a particular objective or goal for myself. When the time arrives and passes and I have achieved my goal, I seldom stop to say “I am now… (insert statement of truth”, I have achieved what I set out to. I tend to look forward to the next goal or dare I say complained a little because it did not go quite how I envisioned or would have liked. How often do we even acknowledge the steps that we have taken to achieve our goals? I rarely stop to celebrate what I have embarked on, become or achieved. Think of the joy you get from achieving.
Some of these are small and some of them are huge but whether they are small or huge they are important to me and for each of these I can now say I am or I have done - A Statement of being and truth. Did I celebrate them? Perhaps not all of them and certainly not in the way that they warranted being acknowledged and celebrated. We are often looking for the next “I am” without acknowledging the journey we have made thus far whether short or long, hard or easy, momentous or a flash in the plan. Join with me and celebrate your truth, existence, achievements and journey no matter what they are and let’s not take life for granted. I am a Writer

e’ve all done it, indulged too much during the festive period, felt fed up and annoyed with the natural weight gain that comes with too much turkey, stuffing and Christmas pudding; then decided “to be good” when January rolls round. Unfortunately this cycle of indulgence, regret, and empty promises to oneself isn’t healthy and

the resolutions that follow rarely stick. For many of us this is the pattern that follows year on year. However, this just leads to feelings of guilt when we eventually go back to our old eating patterns. So, what should we do to avoid these unhealthy feelings towards ourselves and the food we eat? I have 3 easy to follow tips that will work through the festive period and beyond...

STEP 1
The 90/10 principle – 90% of your main diet should come from fresh, naturally low-fat, wholesome foods, whilst 10% can be those items that are considered “treats”. So savour a glass of wine, a dessert, or a chocolate bar, but avoid bingeing on these. Put it into perspective. If you have been enjoying a diet rich in vegetables, fruits, lean meats, fish, pulses and whole-grains, then that chocolate or indulgence will do you no harm at all. Of course Christmas Dinner isn’t always so balanced, but fill your plate with veggies, put only a few potatoes on that plate and pick the leaner parts of the turkey.
STEP 2
Fully enjoy your food (not just that 10% indulgence!). Eat slowly and enjoy each mouthful. Just be mindful of when you are full. Over-eating regularly dulls the pleasure centres in the brain and you need to eat more and more to get your fix (not to mention the increasing
waistline too). Really savour the flavours, pay attention to what you are putting in your mouth and realise when you have actually had enough (you can always go back to more if you need to).
STEP 3
Plan your meals – ensure you have enough healthy food to hand to whip up a quick healthy snack, lunch or dinner. There is nothing more tempting to over-eat than having nothing easy to hand. There will probably be many leftovers (if you have followed the above 2 tips!) so have some delicious low-GI or granary bread to make some healthy turkey sandwiches, or use the leftover vegetables for a tasty bubble and squeak that can easily be re-heated. These tips work all year round, and there will be times when the balance shifts, but by planning ahead, enjoying your food properly and filling up on healthier choices, it will make it that much easier to control your weight. The perfect partner to these tips is also to move a little more – go for regular walks with a partner or friend, try a new sport, experiment with exercise classes, or clean the house from top to bottom to burn those extra unwanted calories. It will be the little things that eventually add up to success and can be done with just a little extra effort. After all, you are worth it! verything around us, including yourself, is pure energy vibrating at different frequencies. This includes all thoughts you may have or not want to have or experiences that you go through. This is included in the basic premise of the Law of Attraction, like energy attracts like energy. You attract that which you are in vibrational sameness with, not that which you think you deserve, need or desire. The frequency you are predominantly transmitting is determined by the underlying or dominant mental attitude, positive or negative, this itself is determined by your thoughts and beliefs and whether you are on a habitually positive or negative path. A positive mental attitude will attract positive experiences and bring circumstances that are relevant to your positive thoughts, while the same but having a negative mental attitude attracts unwanted or negative experiences. Like attracts like, and your mind will sort what is relevant to you and your thought processes. Here we are covering the Law of Vibration and the Law of Attraction, The Law of Vibration states that everything in the Universe is moving,

vibrating, and travelling in circular patterns. The same principles of vibration in the physical world apply to our thoughts, feelings, desires, and wills in the Ethereal world. Each sound, thing, and even thought has its own vibrational frequency, unique unto itself. The Law of Attraction demonstrates how we create the things, events, and people that come into our thoughts and lives. Our feelings, thoughts, words, and actions produce energies which, in turn, attract like energies. Negative energies attract negative energies and positive energies attract positive energies. Using these laws, we can subconsciously create

whatever we want in our life. We can change our destiny just by using the power of our minds to bring the circumstances to our mind’s eye. Remember it was always there, you just weren’t looking for it or you were sorting it from your life. All areas of your life, including health, love and your finances are influenced by this incredible Universal Law that “like attracts like”. Now you can change your destiny by understanding that everything in this Universe is connected, You are able to attract anything you need to yourself because you are already connected to everything, seen and unseen. It helps us to understand that we live in a world where everything is connected to everything else. Everything we do, say, think and believe affects others and the universe around us. Remember our Solar system and everything inside it has been through more than one star formation in the Billions of years before the earth was created. We were all created from the death of a star. So to changing your life, you will attract to you that which you sort for in life. An analogy would be when you bought a car or item of clothing, you thought about it a lot and it became relevant to you, so your mind sorted the relevant thing to your consciousness and showed you all the same items that were previously unseen to you, even though they were always there. The Law of Attraction is neutral to you or anyone else, it does not judge, punish or reward. It simply serves to bring like energy together. You just have to be very specific

Belief What does belief mean to you? Is it simply believing in yourself, a religion, way of life or knowledge passed on, learnt or found? We all believe in something and our beliefs are challenged in one way or another daily.
I
t is easy to change our state of mind and actions, your environment and your thoughts will take care of this, what it is harder to change is what you believe is true. You have to break down what you hold as fact and replace it with the new fact. For some you have to see it for yourself, others need to feel or do it another way or on some occasions hearing from someone you trust or admire can simply sway your beliefs if you allow it. We have all seen or heard someone say “ I saw this film the other day and it was rubbish”, then we take on that belief as if it were our own, perhaps telling someone else further down the line how rubbish that film was without even seeing it. We change our beliefs over time, but in our own time. This leads me to ask, why do people try to force their own beliefs on to others? Are they challenging our beliefs and is it a bad thing to have them challenged? We all have differing ways to be convinced, so a little challenge couldn’t hurt, right? Let’s take a step back and take a quick look at Values, these and beliefs make up the basis of our worlds. We set our values of how and what we want from life at an early age, meaning we tend to get our values

from parents and close family members, and of course, our own minds. We set our world and values for honesty, love, happiness, goals, work family, friends etc… This is what makes up who we are at the base level. We can change our values if we put a lot of effort into it, so if you want to change who you are, think about what values you have and what makes you happy or annoyed. We’ll look into values in more depth another time so back to beliefs… So why is it that one person can do something well and another not so well, even if they have had the same training, focus and knowledge? Belief is the key. Think about a time when you were learning to do something. Did you believe that you were good at that task? No? Then fast forward to now and you perform that task easily and effortlessly, and ask yourself do you now believe that you are good at that task? The likely answer is Yes. If you look at the difference in force and feeling behind the beliefs you can start to see what your mind can do, both good and bad. We have all said “I can’t do that”, therefore believe that we cannot do the task and put a barrier in place

so that we are unable to achieve what we set out to do. The exactly same process with added belief that you can do it, will give you a completely different journey on your way to achieving your goal. You can do anything if you apply your mind in the right way. Always ask, what do I need to know, learn or do to make it happen? Then practice, practice, practice until it becomes habit, second nature, effortless. The power of belief on our psyche is immense, it can push us to great heights, or hold us back from achieving anything we want. For some, in extreme circumstances, it can be the difference between staying alive, or slipping away to death. This power of our minds is huge, and to have belief in ourselves is paramount to success. If you take the mind of a sports person for instance, talent will get you so far, belief will take you the rest of the way. For instance, if you look at a fantastic goalkeeper who is under the microscope by the media and fans for mistakes he has made in games. Why is it that he didn’t make these mistakes before? It is clear that he is lacking in belief, the same belief before that propelled him to be the superstar that he is, it is all still in there, he just needs to get in touch with it again. The thing about belief is when we are on top of our game we don’t question it, we just feel natural, when we lack belief we start to analyse everything and change it. Just relax and allow the subconscious to do what you trained it to do. There is a universal belief in life that you can get what you ask for, simply put if you are thinking of all the mistakes that you are making and telling yourself not to make mistakes, the only thing you are thinking of is making mistakes, therefore you will make errors due to the fact that you are imagining all that can go wrong. How you may ask can he believe in himself again? I would suggest Hypnotherapy to get him in touch with the inner belief he has locked away in his mind. When you are busy believing in yourself you think of all the things that will go right and all that you can accomplish, on the flip side, you think of all the things that can go wrong when you are lacking in self belief. I personally think we could all do with a good shot of belief every now and then, whether from the person we love or are closest to, a friend, colleague, teacher or neighbour, but most of all we should give ourselves a daily dose of belief even for the small things in life, then complete the circle and pass it on to someone else who can benefit from belief, after all why would you choose to fail if success is an option? Why not make positivity a new habit...
