State Senator Dwight M. Bullard hails from an esteemed South Florida family of educators, community activists, and lawmakers. The Philadelphia transplant was raised in the Miami’s Richmond Heights community and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in History Education from Florida A & M University. From 2000 to 2017, Sen. Bullard served as a teacher at Coral Reef Senior High School. In 2008, he was elected state representative for District 118, a seat held by his mother from 1992 – 2000, and his father from 2000 – 2008. In 2012, Bullard succeeded his mother as the elected State Senator for District 39. Bullard served in the senate until 2016. The political powerhouse now serves as the Political Director of the New Florida Majority and president of the South Dade NAACP.

Edmonds is known for being an outspoken advocate for education and leadership. Edmonds prides himself on serving his community as a public speaker, entrepreneur, educator, author, and philanthropist. He has dedicated his career to improving the rights of minorities, women, the elderly, children, incarcerated individuals, and the homeless population. A native of Titusville, Jervonte earned a degree in Political Science from Florida Atlantic University and resides in West Palm Beach.
