Dolibois, a 1942 Miami graduate, became the university's first alumni director and was later named vice president for university relations. MUDEC celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018 as alumni and friends traveled to Luxembourg for trips, tours and special events.
Phi Delta Gates Est. 1973
Miami's iconic entrance has evolved throughout the years. Constructed in 1909 to commemorate 100 years of the university, the Centennial Memorial Gate served as an entryway to campus. In 1973, Phi Delta Theta marked the 125th anniversary of its founding by donating the Phi Delta Theta Gates that now welcome visitors to Slant Walk.

Upham Arch Est. 1949
It is the most romantic of Miami traditions – the Miami Merger, alumni married to other alumni. Legend has it that couples who kiss under the Upham Arch at midnight – with the light on – are destined to be married. The Upham Arch folklore has its roots between 1949 and 1965 and continues today. Miamians married to one another account for nearly 14 percent of the university’s alumni base.

REUNION GIVING Alumni Weekend is a great time for reconnecting with friends and reliving fond memories. It is also a wonderful opportunity to give back in honor of your Miami Experience. Much of what you enjoyed at Miami was made possible by those who came before you, and now future generations of Miamians are counting on you. Gifts of all sizes are necessary, and we hope you’ll consider supporting one of the following options:
Class Scholarship Fund »
Miami Fund »
Supporting your class scholarship provides Miami students with crucial financial aid. Your reunion giving provides the support that assists Miami students and their families in affording a Miami education.
Through supporting the Miami Fund, you provide undesignated support to the university that helps meet its most immediate needs.
As always, you are welcome and encouraged to support any area of the university you prefer. Please consider making a gift online at GivetoMiamiOH.org/GivetoMU.
THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS! If your company would like to become an Alumni Weekend sponsor, contact Ryan Elias, assistant vice president of development, corporate and foundation relations, at 513-529-3867 or eliasrr@MiamiOH.edu.
